pickBrilliant book, you can feel the adrenaline rush while reading. It not only describes the adventurous side of Everest hiking but also the politics, commercialisation, pollution & other present concerns. Book is all about dreams, pain, loss, being a part of team, as well as solo endurance. A must read for those who love outdoor adventures. 4.5⭐️

pickWhat a bloody awful weekend I just had! First Friday was 40C(104F), I went to dinner at my youngest new flat but couldn‘t get in the security door so stood in direct sun for 20 mins & nearly fainted, then Sat was 47C(116F), had a meeting with the celebrant in a non air con house & nearly melted. So I‘ve been sick as a dog with heat exhaustion🥵On the plus side, I continued my #PhryneMarathon with this outing about a murder in the Jewish community.

It was busy weekend for us, we also have guests in our house. I didn't have so much time to read but I read The Wedding. It was sweet and even better as the Notebook which I read a few years ago.

My final time for #alternate24in48 wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but a friend from grad school asked if he could stay with me as he was passing through Nashville, so my evening of reading didn't happen. I'm still pleased with my progress! @Librarybelle
pickA wonderful book. A surprising plot with heartfelt views on politics and love ❤️. Magic and monsters and beautiful princesses and brave warriors. It makes the reader feel triumphant as if you were alongside the characters when they prevail, and betrayed as if you were there when people turned. A real fairytale. 4.5 ⭐️ and 10 hours completed for my #24B4Monday I mean #alternate24in48

I didn‘t make my goal of 24 hours, but at least I made it halfway there for #alternate24in48 . This was my first downtime weekend in weeks, and I found I needed lots of sleep. A low-grade migraine today also brought my reading to a standstill. Self care had to take priority!
I completed 2 books, and I‘m over halfway on a third book. Oh, and I enjoyed lots of cat cuddles! 😻
I took some #audiobook time this afternoon to make homemade applesauce. It's on the stove right now and it smells sooooooooo good. #alternate24in48 @Librarybelle
It‘s nearly 70°F here in Colorado. That‘s a good sign on Groundhog Day, right? (We‘ll still get snow in May regardless. ?) I couldn‘t resist enjoying the lovely day with a long #audiowalk and this delightful Victorian romance. #alternate24in48 #widehorizonsreadathon
