Current read. I‘m enjoying it so far.
Maybe it‘s because I listened to the audiobook instead of reading a physical book but I was so confused about what was going on. There was a whole section in there that didn‘t feel like it had anything to do with the rest of the story at all so I‘m not sure if it‘s purpose.
Hold came in at the library and I just had to read it right away! This book was so much fun! Liked it much more than The Southern Book Club‘s Guide to slaying Vampires.
Next up on my attempt to go through my bookshelf are the ghost stories of Henry James.
I enjoyed this book but there was some pacing issues for me. I would really get into a section and then it would jump away to a different group which bugs me personally. Overall it was a good set up for a second book in a series.
I‘m a big C.J. Archer fan and really got into this first book in this series. Definitely different from her other series but it has a great cast of characters.
I‘m a big fan of the Glass and Steele series. This new series following Matt and India‘s son, Gabe, didn‘t disappoint. So excited to have some familiar characters back for this new adventure. 🙂
2023 goal- to read the unread books on my bookshelf 🫣 First up is House of Sky and Breath. I started this one several times and stopped because it was a slow start but I‘m getting into it now 🙂
Just started this one yesterday and am enjoying it so far. Not my usual type of book but I wanted to try something different. Fingers crossed that I continue to like it.
Currently obsessed with this series. The audiobooks are really good. Matt and India remind me of Thomas and Audrey Rose in Kerri Maniscalco‘s Stalking Jake the Ripper series. I can‘t wait to see where these two end up! Getting ready to start book seven.
I loved this book! It started a little slow and I was about to give up but then it picked up the pace. The audiobook version is awesome! Completely recommend.
Finally finished it this morning. I loved this book so much! It started kind of slow but that‘s to be expected with a first book in a series that needs to establish the characters and build the world for you but once it got going I couldn‘t stop reading. I haven‘t cried over a book so much in a really long time. Totally recommend this series and can‘t wait for the next book to come out.
My daughter bought this for me for Christmas. I liked the Court of Thorns and Roses series so fingers crossed that this is good 🤞
I love Anthony and Kate. They‘re adorable and I think the Bridgerton Pall Mall game has to be my favorite part.
I was so excited when I saw Bridgerton was going to be a series on Netflix. My introduction to the Bridgerton‘s actually came through the prequels (Rokesby series). I loved Julia Quinn‘s writing style so I knew I had to read this before the show premiered. I tore through it and wasn‘t disappointed. I‘m not ashamed to admit that I finished the entire series within two weeks. I couldn‘t put them down. Each Bridgerton child‘s story was so much fun!
I haven‘t been on for a while but I‘ve been reading. Loved this book and am so sad to have reached the end of the series. I‘m going to miss Audrey Rose and Thomas ☹️
This was a quick and easy audiobook to get through. The banter between Audrey Rose and Thomas is cute. While the subject of the book, Jack the Ripper and his murders, is heavy, the story flows well and it never feels too gruesome. I recommend this book if you‘re looking for something simple. I‘ve already picked up the second book in the series, Hunting Prince Dracula, just to see where these two end up next!
Southern Book Club wasn‘t my favorite Grady Hendrix book but it was enjoyable. It was an interesting look into the lives of southern wives in the 90s with a horror twist. The gore factor you come to expect from Hendrix novels wasn‘t nearly as much as it is in his other books but it‘s there.
Horrorstor was great. Not as gross as My Best Friend‘s Exorcism but I enjoyed it a lot. Grady Hendrix is truly disturbed.
It wasn‘t terrible but I‘m finding that the historical fiction written by Maya Banks just doesn‘t do it for me. This is the second one I‘ve listened to that I‘ve found to be so-so. Maybe it‘s just me.
Finally finished The Child Thief. It was ok. I like the idea of a dark retelling of Peter Pan but it was hard to find a character I cared about in the story. The art, however, is beautiful.
Great book! Grady Hendrix did it again, mixing nostalgia and horror well. Totally recommend.
Next book up. This one was recommended when I was ordering The Child Thief so I figured I‘d give it a try.
Christopher Moore is an odd man and I love it. Lust Lizard is a great book and it was fun revisiting some of the characters from Practical Demonkeepng. Luckily, you don‘t have to read that one to follow the events of this book. Lust Lizard takes place ten years later and stands on its own with a cast of quirky characters you‘ll quickly fall in love with. I highly recommend this book.
October books. Fingers crossed they‘re good 🤞
I didn‘t know what to expect when I began reading this book beyond the synopsis on the back cover. It is quite literally a goblin‘s journey home to the now abandoned town of his youth in search of the long lost girl next door. It‘s an odd book, not bad but probably not something I‘d pick up again. The ending was what I expected and I won‘t give it away. Overall, I‘d give the book 3 stars for being imaginative.
Next read from my TBR pile. Can‘t wait to see how it turns out. 🤞
This one sat in my TBR pile for awhile but I finally finished it. As an Alice in Wonderland fan I wanted to like this but it wasn‘t great. I like dark and twisty fantasy but this one fell flat for me in so many areas and the dialogue, at times, felt forced. I‘m beginning to question whether I‘ll read the Red Queen which is also sitting in my TBR pile. Might have to wait awhile before picking that one up.
What can I say, I‘m a big fan of Christopher Moore‘s writing and wasn‘t disappointed with Practical Demonkeeping.
A quick, easy read that I really enjoyed. Can‘t wait to read the next book in the series. 😃
I loved this book and can‘t wait to read the next one!
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn‘t sure I was going to like it when I first started reading it but it had a great pace and interesting characters.
