-What a treasure this book is, it will hold a special place in my heart and on my shelf for a lifetime!
This book is full of so much Fantasy and meaning! I love it so so much, it's taking me a very long time to finish but that's more fault from all the holiday excitement! ☕️🎃🕸🕷📖🍂
This was…interesting. It‘s a very violent reimagining of Peter Pan. The world-building was cool, but I didn‘t care at all about any of the characters; when they died, I didn‘t care. I was also bugged at how the author had to describe the boobs of every female character. 🙄😒 So, not bad, felt like I was reading it forever, but still interesting.
4✨Very well written, with a lot of dark and twisty scenes. There is action, gore, magic, and real danger. The book is very large so reading at night in bed won‘t happen easily. There are serious intense moments with trigger warnings pretty much all through the book. It‘s hard to put down, but would suggest palette cleansers before bed. Read for #LMPBC @LitStephanie @Littlewolf1 @Lauranahe
So dark and twisty. I love it! Plus a smattering of gore to keep your blood pumping. Dude! I don‘t want to put it down, but man I have life outside of books. Rude…#LMPBC @Littlewolf1 @LitStephanie @Lauranahe
I might have liked this more if I knew more about Peter Pan. It is a dark, blood soaked version. There are some fun parts, and the artwork is creepy and cool. The characters are not well drawn enough for me to care much, and no one seems to grow or change. Good horror scenes, but not my cup of tea. #lmpbc @Littlewolf1 @Roary47 @Lauranahe @suvata
Ya think?! 🤣 Peter Pan was not one of my childhood favorites, so I don't really remember it that well, but I like this psychopathic violent version already. I am only two chapters in and might change my mind once I see what he is really recruiting these kids for, but it is fun so far. #lmpbc
Hello ladies… I‘m super excited about this round and getting into some dark fantasy with you all. These are the four books that I‘m interested in reading this around. Let me know what you think and what you‘re interested in and we‘ll go from there.
🌟🌟🌟🌟
A very dark tale of Peter Pan, not for children. I got this for the cover and all the artwork within. Being a lifelong fan of Peter Pan, this is excellent. If you are a fan of the pan, Wiccan, paganism, Celtic lore, Sidhe, Fearie, this rolls it all up into one nice package. The beginning and ending are good, however the author loses his way a bit in the middle. Uneven writing, but overall satisfying.
This books mythos was awesome. Arthurian legends, Scottish fairytales, the world building was top notch IMO. Super gory and dark. I Didn‘t love the parts that took place in the human world, they were bleak and depressing but I loved Avalon and Peter. I loved this dark fairytale and I definitely want to read more from Brom.

Finally finished The Child Thief. It was ok. I like the idea of a dark retelling of Peter Pan but it was hard to find a character I cared about in the story. The art, however, is beautiful.
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView

I finally figured out how to get text on the picture! I‘m slow, but I eventually get there! 😜 #alphabetbookishquiz
I really wanted to like this book a lot more than I actually do. I love the art and I love the premise but it's been very hard for me to get through.
Omg omg omg thank you so much I‘ve wanted to read The Child Thief for so long and the faire book is beautiful and I love the postcard and I can‘t wait to try the candy. I already read the book pick but can‘t wait to reread it. @Chrys #SFMBC @Avanders

In this book, the magic of Peter Pan and Neverland are used for much darker purposes.
@Linsy Thanks for a fun photo challenge month!
This book was amazing and dark and a little sad. Classic Brom.
@mdm139 OMG! I love the bottle and the books!!! Child Thief has been on my TBR forever; one of those books I am uber excited to read and can‘t explain why I never got around to it! The awesome snacks and delicious water enhancers will compliment these books wonderfully!! THANK YOU!!🎉❤️💕

I made it over half way through this book--well past where I would have normally given up--and I still couldn't bring myself to finish it! It's not particularly exciting, despite all the action, and the main character was relentlessly annoying. It had its interesting bits, but I saw how many pages I STILL had left and decided I just couldn't do it anymore. I did read the last few pages--more disappointment there. WOMP
I‘m trying to decide what to read next. I grabbed leviathan Wakes at the library today and I‘ve started a few series recently that I want to continue with. Choices choices.
Day 22 of #riotgrams is for books that should be adapted. Can we please talk about how "The Child Thief" would be the most bingeworthy, dreamy Netflix series of all time? I am in love with this gothic, modern day Peter Pan retelling and kind of want to live inside it. Check out the stunning artwork of Brom.
Very dark and gory. But thoroughly enjoyable. There is a constant underlying terror in this book that sets your teeth on edge as you read it.
All i can say about this super thick book is “peter pan retelling with dark side of it”
The first few chapters are back and fort plot which probably gonna be a bit confusing, but i love the story, specially some characters in it
The more you read it the more you don‘t know where you put your fave character in it cuz they all have their own reason to be who they are. Super dope read!
1. Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate ack 😊
2. I love Deckled edges ❤️
3. Hmmm, Some of my favorite books are series so I'd have to pick only read book series.
4. Neverland- I would love to be a fairy in Tinkerbells crew 😊fairy dust all over the place.
5. Publishing- I think it would be great to help bring new material to the world of book lovers. #bookishwouldyourather
Does it get any wilder than the apocalypse--with or without zombies? The Child Thief is not apocalyptic, but still pretty wild--those guys have got to be on their toes! #booksinthewild, #riotgram, #riotgrams
Note to self, do not fall asleep listening to this book
Woke up to start this
I had to get his others I could find on OD
Some of my magical books! #somethingmagical, #riotgram, #riotgrams
I've been book purging and reorganizing lately. These are my TBR shelves
#maybookflowers I'm rotating about three books right now so I'm excited to try and finish all of these in May.
Happy Saturday Night reading. Just stated this one and I'm hooked. A dark twist on the Peter Pan story and I thought Once Upon a Time Peter Pan story was dark.
Had to set my book down for a few during my #litsypartyofone cause this goober decided to cuddle! 😍😹❤
Guess I'm going one handed. 😂🙋👌

I had this book recommended to me a few months ago, and I devoured it!!! I love this dark retelling of Peter Pan!!!
I'm sorry I've missed so many days guys ugh! This is my post for yesterday's #day27 #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge #currentlyreading. Obviously I've been pretty into horror books recently.
"You're free now. You don't have to live by their rules anymore. The darkness is calling. A little danger, a little risk. Feel your heart race. Listen to it. That's the sound of being ALIVE. It's your time, Nick. Your one chance to have fun before its all stolen by THEM, the adults, with their cruelty and endless rules, their can't-do-this, and can't-do-that's, their little boxes and cages all designed to break your spirit, to kill your magic."
I had never heard of this book before today when I went to my local book store and found an employee recommendation on it. I them proceeded to look it up on goodreads and apparently a lot of people really love it! I'm exited to get into this because as a child I absolutely ADORED Peter Pan (especially when he looked like Jeremy Sumpter 😍)
I picked this up from the library. Apparently it's a dark Peter Pan retelling? It also has a bunch of creepy illustrations in the middle of it. Seem interesting... Has anyone read it? What did you think?
A better question: what's your favorite Peter Pan retelling? (Book or show) I'm partial to the 2003 Peter Pan movie w/ Jeremy Sumpter because it was adorable and reminded me about everything good about being a kid.
