Winnie is just so uninteresting MC and that might have made this hard to read. Winnie was so flat, she was just her holes.
This maybe had more plot than the other books but I am not sure how skillful the author is to write. The story didn't feel intriguing enough to keep me interested.

I love this middle grade Peter Pan retelling by Muscogee Creek author Cynthia Leitich Smith. It focuses on two stepsisters & addresses racism straightforwardly in the text. Wendy & Lily immediately speak up when Peter or the Lost boys use the word ‘Injun,‘ for example. On many occasions the omniscient narrator breaks the fourth wall & addresses readers directly—I like that too. A fun read with satisfying depth. #Indigenous #kidlit
This story teaches the lesson to children that it is okay to grow up even though it may be scary.
This story follows Wendy in a journey with Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up. She follows peter through a fantasy land in which she runs into Tinkerbell, a magical fairy, and fights with captain Hook and his crew of pirates.
