I can accept that this is nicely written, and some people will like it very much, but I‘m afraid this coming-of-age story of two sisters, set in post-war Bristol didn‘t really move me.

The series seems to be back on track. Again we stick with Scarpetta instead of head hopping. Insecurities make sense, even if some previous plot lines seem washed away.

A cold case & a slew of suspicious death impacts 1 of their own. Wraps up a little quick, but the science makes sense & the connections were intriguing.

A nice, feel-good Christmas story!

A perfect book for the #letterP! I actually learned a few things (only female polar bears hibernate and babies can be born during hibernation). Highly recommended for the wee ones and folks like me.

This appears to be a self-published book with AI artwork, some of which is nice. But I don‘t understand this “cover.” The story is about four pages long (the rest are artwork), saying that children have gone to the North Pole, received gifts from Santa, and were very happy. Don‘t waste your five minutes unless you need the #letterP like me.

I liked a lot of things about this book. The characters were well developed, which I love. However, there were a few things that annoyed me and made the plot feel forced. I just couldn't get behind the idea that after 17 years, the two main characters haven't been able to get on with their lives. Not genuine at all. The prose and character development get a solid 4.5⭐️ and the plot a sad 2⭐️.
