Made my goal this year! Sometimes hard as an English teacher. The guilt of reading for pleasure with a pile of essays to grade is real.
Had to read because so many of my students love it. It was good and suspenseful.

It was ok, kind of dragged for me. So much about the characters I didn‘t feel necessary, but I think her writing is just not my style.
Absolutely wonderful and heartfelt. Three young men so misunderstood and down the wrong paths, but they each find their way, but not all end happily. Very moving characters.
Loved Reminders of Him, couldn‘t put it down. It Ends With Us I didn‘t like so much. She did not develop a male character that I cheered for when I should have.
Good story, but hard to get into the setting of early 1900s Shanghai when all names are Western.
Started strong, but just didn‘t care for the end. (The way it is laid out, not the actual ending)
I am a fan of Ruth Ware and this did not disappoint. It may have went on a little longer than necessary, but still good.
Loved! I read it in one day because I could not put it down.
Honestly not sure what to say about the ending. Who else has read it and what did you think? I was all in until the end.
Read in a day. Fast paced and some nice twists and turns.
I really liked it, but do not feel it lives up to the hype. Nice twist, but I have read several others recently that actually made me drop my jaw. This wasn‘t one of them.
Amazing but tragic story.
Not a big horror fan, but I did get sucked into this series.
I am really struggling through this one. I read the back of the book and thought it would be so good, but the “disappearance of the little boy” is very little of the book. Didn‘t even barely mention it until the 15th chapter. It is more about the backstory of the women in the family. Pushing through because I am stubborn 😁.
Not my favorite. Didn‘t care much for the characters and the ending was horrible.
My favorite author, not my favorite book. Guess I am tired of pandemic topics.
I have read two of her books and thoroughly enjoyed both.
It was a slow start, but picked up quickly.
I usually have three books going at one time. One is an audiobook, one on my Kindle, and one book in hand.
I honestly love anything Kristin Hannah. I love that you don‘t feel like you are reading the same story over and over. She is very diverse. This one takes place during the depression/dust bowl days and a woman‘s determination for the survival of her family.
Very hard to like the main character. Or any of the characters at that. A little girl that they had taken to as a child, come back into their lives years later as a beautiful young woman, with revenge on her mind.
It is fiction, but based on a true event. Between 1925-1950 children were basically stolen from poor families and sold to wealthy families. This story follows one such family of children. I listen to the audiobook and absolutely loved it!
My favorite author does it again. 12 hour drive home was perfect to start and finish this gem.
Reading through this trilogy. It is a good read, but would love to see more character development and backstory.
As a teacher, I do have get as much free reading as I would like. I missed my goal by just a few books this year, so I am setting it again at 2 books a month. Starting with one of my tbr that has been on my shelf for awhile.
Following the lead of others. I love to see and learn about the readers I am following. I have always been a huge reader and it just seemed fitting to become an English teacher. I teach sophomores and AP Literature and am known for making quite a few readers of my students. Their favorite part of class is SSR, they love to relax and read. I have two teens and am also a basketball coach.
Semester‘s over! Now to catch up on reading books instead of essays. #teachersolitsy
Christmas gift from a student. How awesome is this cup for an English teacher? #teachersoflitsy
Sci-fi, Horror, fantasy (although, I will pick one up here and there, I normally skip right past)
Can‘t wait to wear my new shirt to school. #teachersoflitsy
Finally getting a chance to start this one. The first two of this series, #pillarsoftheearth and #worldwithoutend are two of my most favorite books. Excited that he finally wrote a third and hope that it holds up to the first two.
