Couldn‘t get through this ⭐️⭐️2/5
Another twist that throws me off!!! I love McFaddens books! So easy to read and always get me in the end. Nora is a successful surgeon with a secret past. Her father was a serial killer!! Although it‘s been 26 years since her father was incarcerated bodies start suddenly turning up dead in the same manner as Nora‘s father murderous calling card. Who is behind all these murders or does the apple not fall far from the tree. 😈
Several co-workers were shocked that I had not read anything by Colleen Hoover and Verity in particular. So I caved and read it so I could wear a normal human disguise.
Benny has been working so hard today to disrupt my reading. He says "just one more cuddle" ?

Low pick for me. The only reason why I gave it a pick is because I read it in less than 24 hours. A young pregnant girl gets trapped in the snow after crashing her car and is rescued by a big burly scary man. She is taken to his house where she meets his wife and thinks everything should be ok…until it‘s not! Not my favorite book by Mcfadden, but still easily readable and always has a good twist at the end.
This book follows Detective Ben Wade as he works two cases. The death of a migrant teen, and a serial killer who is terrorizing the local community. This is less a police procedural and more an in depth look into Ben‘s mind as he wrestles with personal demons brought on by one of the cases.
Though I did predict the ending, there were some fun twists throughout. It also had solid pacing that kept me interested to the end. Domestic thrillers are not my favorite and there are some elements which may put off some readers. Also the men in this story are so clueless… Still, overall a fun time. 3.5⭐️
Normally, I wouldn't pick a book with these colors on the cover, but it's for one of the reading groups here on Litsy. Also, normally, I wouldn't read anything someone considers cozy. Not because I have a problem with them, but they don't usually seem to end up in my TBR. Glad I read this one. I recommend it if you need a light read with what are actually heavy themes. And, especially so if you work or have a child in elementary school.😄
A group of folks are on a bus, headed to a remote lodge in the Rockies, when a storm hits and the bus can go no further. They end up trekking to a remote cabin they found and planned to stay there until they can get rescued. No help is coming though because there is someone determined that they never leave the cabin alive. An atmospheric locked-room mystery that is a book you don‘t want to put down.
