dabbe It's interesting to note that Dracula really hasn't been in the last 10 or so chapters. He's been flitting at the window as a bat/wolf and was seen as himself by Harker, who recognized him, but that's it. He took center stage at the beginning and looks like he will at the end. dabbe Every time Van Helsing leaves or Seward has to go home to his practice or Holmwood has to run home again to care for daddy, we all know what's going to happen to Lucy. It's like knowing the TITANIC is going to sink. We know what's going to happen, but we keep reading anyway, hoping against hope that she'll be okay. So frustrating, especially when Van Helsing knows what's going on. ARGHH!! 1mo

However, I didn\'t realize until after I was already in the midst of it that that meant I was reading the story in chronological order, not necessarily the order in which it is actually written. Kerr continues to be the effing worst. She deliberately tantalized Sydney and then tried to lure her back. Sydney went to a dark place but I\'m glad she has learned better now. Only two chapters left, perhaps she\'s safe? 😬 2mo
