Yes , I think I will try this challenge this year ! I have read #chunksters before, when I read War & Peace I got to the point I had goals of 20 pages every time I picked it up. Did finish it , did love it. Admittedly, failed on some of them too. The titles that come to mind , A Little Life and the third in The Outlander series, Voyager.

Mom was sentimental about her shorthand book . A different world . She graduated from a prestigious business college that no longer exists. She could also type 125 words a minute on a manual typewriter!
Here we come #SeriesLove2025 still have many books to go in these 2 series. Also plan to work on Victoria Thompson‘s Gaslamp mystery series. Next book up Murder on Lenox Hill. Think my library has that one as an ebook!

Well , I‘m usually around the 100 book per year level, but what I read this year I‘m grateful for. I‘m such a mood reader , and I had some challenges to my ability to carve out time for reading or maintain my concentration to read. pickMy last #serieslove2024 this Slaughter particularly filled with horrible people doing horrible things . But I liked it! pickI have read a lot about Fitzgerald, filled in some blanks for me.written in year by year style by different scholars, it doesn‘t or shouldn‘t read like a traditional biography. They dug deep to find places he lived as his folks moved around , his father struggled to maintain a viable career. One thing to remember about Scott, as he struggled w/ alcohol, & Zelda w/ madness, he was very much like his character Gatsby , wanting glorious perfection.

pickThis book has gotten a lot of love & for good reason! With an alcoholic dad & a distant mom , the Blue sisters raised themselves. When they lost sister Nicky, they went on with their lives in different locations with some success yet struggling with grief & addictions. When mom lets them know the apartment the oldest Avery kept paying for must be sold, they come together again to deal not only with Nicky‘s things + some of their own demons. great!
So I‘ve been keeping a log of what I have read since 1986. Just dates, titles , authors. No reviews , just noting rereads. What a long strange trip it‘s been.

I was always a reader ,as a kid, as a teen. At one time in my life ,I was losing interest. Then I read Garp & right back in! 😄 His characters can be funny , serious,& tragic. Iriving doesn‘t shy away from cultural issues ,some that still are controversial today. He points out that tragedy & drama can be life altering ,can be random & can happen at any moment.
