Litsy

This isn‘t something I would normally do, but I‘m asking this wonderful community to send positive thoughts, prayers, hugs, etc. Please. I have just been hospitalized because my COVID symptoms are worsening.
I haven‘t been able to hug my kids for over a week and now this. I‘m terrified to be honest. Any love would mean so much. #ILoveLitsy

Asthecroweflies I‘m very sorry you are going through this. The worst part is being so isolated from family. 🙁 At least technology is on our side with FaceTime to visit with loved ones. Many are beating COVID-19 and I‘m sure you will too. You are in my prayers. 4y

I love Litsy and the friends I‘ve made here. This is the only place I have been able to find on social media that is relatively free from discussions on politics. We see that everyday on the news and in our lives. I just want to come here talk about books, and happy things, and not see it or have to read about. That‘s just my opinion. It‘s been free from politics since I‘ve been on here 4 years, if it hasn‘t then I must not see the pages.

eanderson Samesies! I can‘t stand how Facebook is. I loved it before when there weren‘t as many people and no sharing. Now all it seems to be is a super political/sharing/ads filled mess. I love Litsy and spend most of my phone time here. 💕 5y

eanderson Yes, I agree! It can ruin a place like this where so many of us go for positivity and feel safe. I tend to ignore negativity. I understand that my views, opinions, and beliefs differ from many people. I feel like it‘s ok to not agree on everything and not to push my thinking on others. 5y

Birdsong28 Yes. I totally agree with you about this. Everything is so negative and this place is so nice. When I do go on FB then I notice that mental health plummets so I only go on it it if it is absolutely necessary. Also that even if we don't agree on things on here people are gracious about it and realise that we all have opinions. #ILoveLitsy (think this needs to be a hashtag on here if it isn't already) 📚 📖 5y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Facebook has been full of conspiracy theorists and armchair politicians the last few years, but even more so in 2020. I take a peek at a few friends & family pages, scroll quickly for their children, pets, and memes, then promptly close it. Whatever you do, don't read the comments unless you want to feel angry! 5y

MsMelissa I don‘t have a lot of people IRL to talk books with, and being with others who share my passion is the reason I love Litsy. That said, I‘m a long time user who left Litsy last fall. I no longer found it fun, and was constantly muting hashtags for things that had absolutely nothing to do with books or reading. I‘ve only recently come back - I missed the people too much to stay away permanently (I still mute a ton of hashtags though 😂). 5y

MsMelissa Honestly, if it wasn‘t for the muting hashtags feature I wouldn‘t have come back! I certainly don‘t mind the odd non-bookish post, and I‘m quite sure I also posted them from time to time, too, but I‘ve had to mute many of the daily questions/survey ones because I get tired of scrolling through my feed and seeing the same graphic over and over and over again. But I do love the people I interact with here 😊 5y

Sace @Book_Fiend_Melissa I was so happy when I learned I could mute hashtags. I'm OK with the Qs and Surveys and I do one or two a week but I do try to NOT tag a book (sometimes I still do) because it is frustrating to go looking for reviews and to find nothing but tag games and Qs. 5y
