Bookwormjillk Wait! What????? Was it Laura or was it the lady in white? This book is such a soap opera! 2w

mcctrish What. The. Hell. 2w
Leftcoastzen Maybe one of those poisons that makes you seem dead but you are not ? I went through all the stages of grief. He would get the money but it probably be worth it to be rid of him . 2w
BarkingMadRead @Leftcoastzen I wondered the same thing, I can‘t wait to see what happens next! 2w
dabbe I recall #porkchop hinting to #percypig that he had a plan re: the likeness between Anne and Laura. This must be it. Anne's the one with the heart problem, so Anne's the one who died at #porkchop's place. Laura has to be the one alive and the one that Walter met in the cemetery with Marian. Now we need to fill in how she got there. @Bookwormjillk: #soapoperaindeed

I feel like I'm playing CLUE: Laura is in the library with the wrench .... 🤣

dabbe Just read this from good ol' Wikipedia; it definitely confirms the soap-operaness of this novel! 🤩
“Collins's works were classified at the time as sensation novels, a genre that became the precursor to detective and suspense fiction. He also wrote penetratingly on the plight of women and on the social and domestic issues of his time.“
2w
BarkingMadRead @dabbe for real! Total telenovella, this is CLUE, the movie 🤣 2w
Bookwormjillk @dabbe ohhhh good theory. And the flowers did something right? Pork Chop did it in the bedroom with the bouquet. 2w
dabbe @BarkingMadRead Circa 1860s. 🤩🤣🤩 2w
Clare-Dragonfly Twin switch! I knew it!!!! @dabbe That‘s exactly how I think it went! (edited) 2w
Clare-Dragonfly I love the inclusion of “the narrative of the tombstone.” So dramatic! So fitting for the way the novel is told! So unexpected! 2w
Bookwormjillk @Clare-Dragonfly yes the tombstone part was A+ 2w
KAO I did not see that coming!! (But in retrospect probably should have!) 2w
julieclair I've never thought of flowers as a murder weapon, lol. (Except maybe when consumed as poison.) 💐☠️ 2w
BarkingMadRead @julieclair when I think of flowers I think of Carol on the walking dead #lookattheflowers 2w

BarkingMadRead I feel bad using MGGs pic, but he came to when I googled nerdy hot guy in tweed, which is how I pictured this dude 🤣 4w

ElizaMarie #AllThatBlood - terrifying! And didn't sound like she enjoyed it in the slightest. Ugh. I also noticed how a lot of these chapters end in a #CliffHanger. (I will finish the book now - since I am doing a 12 tomorrow. 4w
dabbe I really missed something because I had no idea Joan was in such sorry shape. Unbelievably sad. 🥺 Was she attracted to Esther and despondent when she found out Esther had slept with a man? I'm sure it goes a lot deeper than that, but wow. And of course, I had to read Ch. 20 right away after that. Definitely more of a page-turner than LARK RISE. 4w
dabbe I love the pic and Spencer from CMs! 🤩 4w
Bookwormjillk @dabbe I don‘t think we‘re supposed to know. Esther is so self centered (I don‘t mean that as a criticism exactly.) But from her point of view we had no clue what Joan was going through. Esther doesn‘t know what‘s going on with herself never mind being able to consider that Joan might have feelings. 4w
Clare-Dragonfly I love the picture of Reid for this chapter 😂 Though I doubt this guy told the truth about being a professor of mathematics—he certainly doesn‘t seem like he‘s actually paid well! I wonder if we will find out what exactly went wrong with Esther. Did her diaphragm puncture something? 4w
mcctrish @Clare-Dragonfly I want to know too! Is she one in a million that bleeds out after sex the first time or is the diaphragm the problem ? Or being ‘tipsy‘? All this mental health care just seems so random and half assed 4w
julieclair @dabbe Joan took me completely by surprise. So sad. 4w
dabbe @julieclair IKR? 😳🥺😔 4w

Whoo hoo! After listening to the first one, I had to replay the last few paragraphs because I had a funny feeling something was up and now I get to find out! Is he really having an affair with her mom?

**Update - the dedication is for me! "For the reader who stayed up all night agonizing over the epilogue"

I mean, how could I not go right into this after the cliffhanger of the first one? I did like the first one more, but this was fun. Hopefully there‘s a HEA in the final story.

Of course I loved it, it‘s a Meghan March book! Lots of 🌶️🌶️🌶️, plus I actually like the story. It does end on a cliffhanger, which isn‘t my favorite, but I‘ll get around to reading the other two books. Hopefully soon.

Ethan Frost is a visionary, a genius, every woman‘s deepest, darkest fantasy—even mine. And, somehow, I am his. He stole into my life like a dream. Turned my reality upside down and made my every desire come true—especially those I never knew I had. He demanded everything I had to give and gave me everything of himself in return. But dreams don‘t last forever, and ours is no exception.

As the story unfolded, I was on the edge of my seat, eagerly devouring each chapter to see what would happen next. Sawyer Bennett knows how to keep you guessing, and “Sugar Daddy“ had me guessing until the very end. It's not just a romance novel; it's a rollercoaster of emotions that'll leave you breathless and begging for more....
