One season of MSW is MIA but aside from that - I‘m quite happy with this!
Still a lot of books on the floor that hopefully the shelf I‘ve now moved into my bedroom will be able to accommodate but that feels like a job for the weekend
Texted my grandpa and he came over to help me - between the two of us we managed to decode the instructions.
Now onto the fun part…
I had a head empty no thoughts kind of Kmart trip…
Questions that would have been good to consider :
Can I lift this by myself? Will it fit in my little car? Will I die navigating the extremely busy carpark after I lose my car? Once I get it out of the trolley, will I manage to get it in the car without the trolley rolling away? How am I carrying this up a flight of stairs? Should I have measured the space I want this to go in?
I got bored - so ended up finishing taking things off in the morning… I guess the real question is - will things go back on today? 🤭
Pa is currently replacing the fly screen on my security door and then - it‘ll be morning tea and then cutting this wood to size to go under the bookshelf.
Everything is coming off - as tomorrow my grandpa is coming over to help me put a little piece of wood under the shelf to tip it backwards so it‘s flush against the wall.
And then I can finally sort this shelf out and finish unpacking the last of my book boxes (hopefully)
Can someone put these back on for me?
Phase 12 : Get all the books back on and maybe go to bed - it‘s 3am! ✅
Phase 11 : Have a dance party when you realise that you are up to blue and that taking stuff off as you go is way WAY less stressful than your usual everything off approach ✅
Phase 8 : Scream (but quietly because you live in an apartment building and sensible people are asleep at this hour) because you just knocked THIS off the top of the bookshelf ✅
Phase 9 : Breath a deep sigh of relief that the strings didn‘t tangle ✅
Phase 10 : Remember that you had a pot of peppermint tea brewing ✅
Phase 4 : Decide against taking everything off at the same time ✅
Phase 5 : Break out the big teapot - only a really big cup of peppermint tea will do ✅
Phase 6 : Wonder if this reshuffling of books will result in a greater number of books fitting or the reverse ✅
Phase 7 : Should I maybe be doing a light book weed?! ✅
Phase One : Remove bric a brac ✅
Phase Two : Look at the time and wonder at the wisdom of doing this now ✅
Phase Three : Put the kettle on ✅

I got a new bookshelf for Christmas to replace the two that were destroyed by movers back in June. I filled it with The Wheel of Time series, my illustrated Harry Potter books, and all the Stephen King books I own. In other news, I am only missing nine of SK‘s books to have a complete collection.

It‘s now 3AM and I‘m both exhausted and wide awake!
Things were looking grim when I was down to the blue and purple stacks but barring 5 books (which hopefully my smaller bookshelf will be able to absorb) I got everything (plus rather more than a few new books that had been floating around without a bookshelf home) back on! SUCCESS!
I haven‘t mixed my black books into my main shelves for awhile (they used to be all on the bottom shelf)
I‘m always unsure if I like it when I finish a rearrange 😅
... but everything is now off!
Hmmm, I‘ve done the book version of painting myself into a corner...
I‘ve been thinking about it for awhile AND THE MOMENT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!!
It‘s time to take it all off!!! Change it up! Change it up!!

Y‘all!!!! Guess what FINALLY came in and my husband is about to put up for me!! I am so beyond excited for my new walnut floating book shelves! Plus the husband doesn‘t look too bad while he works either 😜

I love my moms home library! This is just one wall. There are two other walls of books.
I now have a reading shelf! No more books on the arm of the sofa or the side table being knocked off or played with by a toddler and a baby! (Our 7 month old has developed a taste for paper...) Somewhere to put all my note books and even a cup of tea in reach! 🙌 #booknook #readingspace
