🌼 Too many to list. I rewatch many favorite movies and film/TV series. Currently rewatching Cobra Kai, Mad Men, Roswell, and The Vampire Diaries. Most rewatched movie lately is probably The Crow.

🌺 Board game - Clue. Video game - The Legend of Zelda and Tetris.

🌹 The story is designed around a game of Chess.

1) Catan! (Or Boggle, if that's considered a board game.)

2) Tagged. Kind of a stretch, but it's the one I thought of. Or The Queen's Gambit. There have to be characters who play something besides chess, don't there?

Thrift store find ! Not perfect but worth having in my humble opinion! #Vintage Published by Random House a “ special edition “ from 1946.

psalva I remember having these editions in the house growing up, but I don‘t know what ended up happening with them. Great find! 2y
Brooke_H I have those editions too! They‘re so special. 2y

Well, I don‘t have a super fancy edition like my 150th Anniversary Dali-illustrated Alice in Wonderland for Through the Looking-Glass. But I do have this beast that I got back in high school. I think my daughter will be more appreciative of the original artwork, though, than the surreal insanity of Dali. 🤣😅

Last day of my long service leave calls for a spot of op shopping. All this for $14.50! The bib is new & for my new & probably last nephew Murphy. He is just over a week old ❤️. I love me some embroidered serviettes for dinner parties & at $2 if they get stained I can just throw them out. Not sure what I‘ll make out of the material on the bottom. I love magazines but usually only buy them from op shops or borrow from the library. Now for a wax!

Jeg Love seeing your op shop goodies. 3y

A nice sequel to Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland, with new curious and quirky characters. I really enjoyed the poetry bits, they‘re nonsensical but delightful, and Alice is such a charming character!

This book has more of a cohesive story-line than the original Alice, and felt like it lacked some of the dreamlike spontaneity. I think I would have appreciated it more if I knew more about chess. But it does still have the whimsy and colorful characters everyone associates with these books.

At some point I want to get hold of the Annotated Alice and learn some of the things I've been missing (like the chess references).

effani This was my #BookSpin pick for this month. I was hoping that something light and easy to read would come up, and this certainly fit that bill. I also noticed at the end of January that despite the fact that I've been doing #BookSpin for a whole year, nothing off my physical TBR had been picked, and this broke that streak.

Thanks as always, @TheAromaofBooks!

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I read this one last month and rather enjoyed it. 4y
vlwelser I love this cover. 4y
effani @vlwelser I agree, the cover is great! I think one of the best things about the Alice books is how much cool art they've inspired. I got this copy many years ago as part of a boxed set of classics for kids. 4y

#FairytaleReadingChallenge

It's very strange. This book Is sovery similar, and yet definitely different, from Alice in Wonderland.
I loved that It Is more strongly dreamlike, in the semce that the events really nove like dreams do. It's disorienting, but l liked it.
I also liked the use of the chessboard.
On the other hand, it is kind of pointless even more than Wonderland is.
And yet, l love these stories... And l'm non even sure why.

While l read Alice in Wonderland several times as a kid, l only read Through the Looking Glass once, and l remember not liking it as much.
But now, l'm really enjoying It. In some day, It seems ti have a stronger stracture, even uf it is even weirder 😆

bookish_words I didn‘t even know the official Pokémon center was a thing ? whenever I thought of going I just thought like tourism in general - like landmarks, food, culture, etc. 5y

It wasn't a bad book but I'm just such a huge fan of the first one and I find this it just doesn't do it justice. I'm also not a fan of tweedle Dee and tweedledum which doesn't help. 😅 Still brought back some memories from the movie which was nice 😊 I listened to the audio version narrated by Harlon Ellison

Bookwormjillk I love the cover though 5y

Curiouser and curiouser. Did anyone else have an issue accessing Litsy the last three days? I got a completely blank screen no matter how long I waited for it to load.

CouronneDhiver I didn‘t have that problem but a few others did. Delete the app and reload it... the tech team did a fix/update 6y
TheBogwitch @CouronneDhiver I was going to but it said it would delete all the info associated with the account. Thankfully, all is well now. 6y

Fun dialogue, but not as entertaining as the first book. I enjoyed the characters more in Wonderland, as well as the plot. 3/5 ⭐️
