The hubs and I listened to the audiobook during a trip to Virginia, and finished it up today, on our way to a Book Warehouse outlet a couple of hours from our house. The ending was…. Abrupt….. not sure how I feel about the book. The movie may have been a little better!

I have been getting absolutely no reading done over the last few days because my one and only baby graduated high school!! I am absolutely beyond proud of all his hard work and just know he has such a great future ahead of him 😍!

I haven't been getting ANY reading done this past week because I've been super deep in preparing for this moment! My oldest boy has finished his first stage of life and is moving onto the next 😊 It's always hard as a parent to have a child that struggles through school but this guy has overcome so many challenges and finally made that walk. Super proud today but also really relieved that it's over 🤣 Looking forward to a long weekend now to relax

10-16-21: My 102nd finished book of 2021! This was just as fun to read as the movie with Dustin Hoffman is to watch! Benjamin Braddock has just graduated from college, and become disillusioned with his life, when he meets Mrs. Robinson and begins an affair he will come to regret. Once he meets her daughter, he falls head over heels in love but must fight to win her over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍🏼📖#️⃣1️⃣0️⃣2️⃣

10-15-21: I love that this book, written in 1963, was inscribed so long along. And you can‘t imagine how good it smells! Only true book lovers would get it 🤩📚💖

It was okay. Dark humor and young adult angst involved. Benjamin was kind of annoying at times.

One reason I haven‘t had time to read lately. Was up in CT last weekend for graduation! My daughter (left) actually got her degree in dance last year but obviously no ceremony happened in 2020. Her gf (right) graduated this year with a degree in Voice and sang the National Anthem at the ceremony. Proud of them!

This is what I found when I came in to work today. I had a good cry. The coursework for my MLIS is done. Now just waiting on my degree.

This is why I haven‘t been on #Litsy lately: the youngest of my three kids graduated from high school two weeks ago 👨‍🎓! And my mom has been staying with us — she returned home today. Hoping to do some catching up on here and with my reading, too!

Well, I said I would post more often these last few weeks, and that was a straight lie... but I‘m looking at a lot more free reading time! I‘ve officially graduated with my bachelor‘s from Brigham Young University. Major in English, minors in editing and psychology. Very proud to be officially endorsed as a huge book nerd 🤓😂 #collegegrad #englishmajor

My son graduated from Daycare and we read books every night. I hope he continues his learning and reading for the rest of his life.

I missed this milestone while I was watching the film adaptation of The Graduate, which a classmate loaned me a couple of weeks ago and I was determined to return to him. I‘m glad to now have the full context for the cultural reference to Mrs Robinson, but I think once is enough for this one 😏

Less than three months until I graduate, Littens! Wrapping up my last real semester of my undergrad and then it‘s on to the real world 🌎 These last four years will all be worth it once I can finally stop serving nights and weekends and finally participate in a #24in48 readathon!

Attended a grad party tonight for a close friend, and I️ had a hard time getting ready and leaving my book at home. Only a few more chapters left! But I️ loved this photo booth pic of the other half and I️. We both hate taking pictures when we are in the stills. Anyway we called it a night early but wanted to share this rare pic.

When the photographer asks you if you want a plain background or books and you reply way too loud and excited, "BOOKS!!!" ???

I've waited for this day for so long! 6 long years of studying part time, working, giving birth and raising two little boys (now 6yrs and 3yrs). I've finally got my BA Honours degree! It's Graduation Day! 👏🏻 👩🏻‍🎓

My last image is very personal as it was our daughter Madeleine's graduation last week. And i was very proud and of course brains and beauty are all down to her mum😀

Benjamin is not sure what he wants to do with his life after graduation and - out of boredom - becomes involved first with Mrs. Robinson (the wife of his father's business partner) and then with her daughter Elaine.
I couldn't figure out what happened to disillusion Benjamin and the "anti-establishment" tone throughout the book is never explored. An easy read with funny, empty dialogues; that's about it.

Not reading related, but my hubby graduated from medical school this morning! I am officially no longer the only doctor in the house and I got to place his doctoral hood during the ceremony as an alumni and family member - it was a special moment we are sure to cherish for a lifetime! Happy day, Littens!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Do people normally read in malls? This seems odd, but I was sucking hardcore at pinball today.

My recommendation? Watch the movie. The book is interesting in the sense that so much of what was iconic in the movie is actually there, but the movie makes Benjamin less of a creep and leaves out a couple of draggy parts.

#FunFridayPhoto @Liberty I read this when I was 10. My Mom had the album and book. I had always been allowed to listen to the album, and just assumed the same was true of the book. Needless to say, she had no clue I was reading it. I didn't get it all then. I have since re-read, and love it to this day!
