My #classicsreimagined collection. The illustrations in these are so different from one another but so wonderful. I hope they publish more. 😍
#PemberLittens Playing catch up!
Chapter 3 - Meet Mr. Bingley 👋, so “excessively handsome” and his very rich friend, Mr. Darcy. “..a most disagreeable, horrid man, not at all worth pleasing..He walked here, and he walked there, fancying himself so very great!..as declared by Mrs. Bennet. 😂
Chapter 4 - So, Jane really likes Mr. Bingley! But she smiles too much, according to Mr. Darcy. 🤷♀️
I gave P&P 5 stars when I first read it over a decade ago. Upon my second reading, I‘d give it even more if I could.
I‘m definitely in the mood for more JA rereads now but I think I‘ll keep my fare light and go with my newest #botm.
#publicdomain #booked2019
I have a lot to do, but I just treated myself to a coffee so I‘m going to take the time to enjoy it with my current read.
I‘m so glad that #booked2019 gave me the push to reread this classic. It was assigned reading for my senior seminar course in college and I loved it then, but it‘s been awhile and I had forgotten how funny it is. I can‘t remember the last time I laughed aloud so much to a book. And I had forgotten Caroline Bingley. 😂
I‘m a sucker for annotated and/or illustrated editions. #masterpiece #movember
I‘m playing along... thanks for the tags, @vivastory @squirrelbrain and @Meaw_catlady 😘

Care to join, @Chili ?
7 days, 7 covers, no explanations.
Earlier this year I saw Pride and Prejudice at Kansas City Repertory. It was the craziest thing. There was booty shaking dancing, Lydia drunkenly lounging over punch bowls, a very excited Mrs B, Wigs flying on stage as the actor playing Mary transformed to Mr. Bingley, and henceforth it will always be Lady Catherine de BURGH. It was incredibly witty and roll in the floor hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣

Don‘t tell my husband, but my dream boyfriend is a super rich dude.
Thanks for sharing, Jenni! @sprainedbrain
I can‘t think of a better book for the prompt #singleladies than P&P. The Bennett girls are the epitome of eligible maidens and this is arguably Austen‘s most beloved and well-known book. I‘m due for a re read but I just need to find the time. #aprella
#150PnPCoverParty day 24 #carriages
Everyone knows that carriages are useful tools when trying to get one‘s daughter married to a single man in possession of a good fortune.
Carriages can be withheld so that your daughter has to go on horseback in the rain, necessitating a stay at the gentleman‘s estate, and then can be further withheld for a whole week to make sure the ladies have a sufficient stay.
I love this illustrated edition of P&P! ❤️
I wasn't going to use this book again....but this is just sooo perfect! (And I didn't have much else to go for 😂)
Apparently, an effective marriage #proposal is like real estate.....location, location, location! 😂😂😂

Check in for #24in48 😃
I have 5 bookshelves in 3 different rooms... one is my forever shelf of books I‘ve read and kept because I love them, another shelf that is half keepers and half tbr, and the rest are (sadly) full of books yet to be read. There is no rhyme or reason to the order of the books on each shelf. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. 😂
Above are first book on my forever shelf and last book on my tbr shelves.

After much inner turmoil, I'm going to say this is my #favoritebook
At the very least, it's my favorite that's currently at home on my favorites shelf. I have two other contenders that are in circulation at present. 😍

By request, some pictures of my favorite book on my shelves based purely on cover and illustrations. I coveted this edition of P&P for a long time before I finally bought it for myself, despite already owning a lovely copy of the book.
Sometimes I take it off the shelf just to flip through it and touch the pretty pictures. 🤓

I got the bug that my youngest had, so now I am down for the count. Comforting myself with a favorite.
I posted the cover last night, but here are some examples of the lovely illustrations inside. There are many more, of course, and the center has a 4-page fold out. I also love the colored and decorated edges. 😍
I was taking a lot of crap from my 12-year-old about today's #bookmail
In my defense:
1. It's so pretty!
2. It was on my wish list for a while before I clicked 'buy.'
3. I don't feel like it's possible to have 'too many' editions.
❤️❤️❤️
Well, he was crazy young when I married him and he certainly doesn't have any money, but I like to think I married my Mr. Darcy. 😏
This is my favorite of the film adaptations. My favorite Austen original is Northanger Abbey.

Happy 241st birthday to the lady I look up to the most! Reading her novels helped me through the toughest times in my life & I'm so grateful that she wrote them. (Sometimes when I'm in a tricky situation, I actually ask myself "What would Jane do?" & then I have my answer ??) Here's a pic of her house that I had the opportunity to go visit last time I was in London &, y'all, it was amazing ??
"Heaven forbid!--That would be the greatest misfortune of all!--To find a man agreeable who one is determined to hate!--Do not wish me such an evil."
I'm still loving the art throughout the book but the story is slow going. Tonight's goal is to make it to page 100.
The physical book is lovely and I'm enjoying the art very much, but I must agree with Mr. Bennett that these characters are extraordinarily silly. I can't bring myself to like a single one of them yet, but Mrs. Bennett especially makes me gag. Please tell me there is someone sensible in this story.
I'm not sure why I'm dreading this book so much, but hopefully have a beautiful copy to work my way through will make it more enjoyable than I'm anticipating.
