Things I liked: Representation. Gritty, but not over the top. The depiction of grief and addiction.
Things I didn‘t like:
Odessa. She just irritated me. Like kissing another man when your lover is dead? It acknowledges that it‘s selfish, it just really rubbed me the wrong way. Plus, the relationship that supposedly sends her into this grief spiral hardly gets any screen time. It feels like it‘s kind of superficial? All in all, not a fave.
Congrats @SamanthaMarie on reaching this amazing number! And for doing the giveaway!!! My favorite number is .. you know I don‘t really have one? But I‘ve always liked 12, so I pick 12! Congrats again!

A wonderful way to start 2019. Austen‘s fierce wit and razor sharp commentary pour off the page. When people talk about the Darcy/Lizzie romance they seem to forget that while he changes, Elizabeth does as well. They are improved by each other. That is the point.
“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun."

Okay Litsy community, I‘ve been thinking a paperwhite would be nice. Recommendations on the best version? Or would an oasis be better? Give me your opinions!

Can you guess what we did? :)
My husband took me to Beauty and the Beast with a live orchestra. This is one of my favorite movies of all time because of Belle. And that library 📚😍
I have a lot of feelings about this movie. :)
This little book of comics is amazing. So much resonated with me! It was heartwarming and real and perfect. So often we are lead to believe that there is something wrong with being quiet. But there‘s not!
It is just a different set of strengths.
Recommended for any introvert!
Plus, it took like half an hour to read. No time at all!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I couldn‘t wait all day to open this! Love everything! Thank you so much @ladyneverwhere it‘s amazing! And thank you to @Avanders for organizing sss! #sss
This year has been a pretty good year for me, reading wise. I am almost to 150 which is a personal record. Some of that is probably due to Litsy and the recommendations I‘ve seen! Also, with my husband losing his job reading has a been a good escape.
But I am so grateful for this community!! ❤️ you guys are amazing!

November wrap up:
📚Total: 10
⭐️ Faves:
The Winter of the Witch

I don‘t think there were any that I was super bored by or anything, but there were a few so-so. If I had to choose probably The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet or Tess of the Road.
Just as magical as the first one! A little darker but also a little slower moving, it was a fun and enjoyable read!
Still pretty similar to Harry Potter, but the world and characters bring me to say it was a pretty solid pick.
I am eagerly awaiting her next adventure!

I‘ve felt like I‘ve been in a slump for the past few weeks. I just don‘t feel like the books I‘ve been reading have been holding my attention. Part of it I think is I usually read in the evenings but with the time change it gets dark so early. Ugh I need a
Motivation boost.
Unfortunately, the pic only shows up to 25! But I did write down all 40! Now I have even more books I want to read in 2019. Yikes.

Not book related, but I love The Office. So I was curious what TV shows my Litsy friends like. Other top faves include, Psych, Anne with An E, Parks and Rec, Stranger Things and The Good Place.
Tell me yours!

Way to go!! 🎉🎉 thanks for doing this!

I felt like I went into this expecting something a little different. It felt more episodic than plot driven. I had a hard time focusing on it, but the characters were great! There was also a lot of information which could be a tiny bit overwhelming at times, which I think makes this one more of a so-so instead of pick.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
The book that changed my life was definitely Harry Potter. It got me into reading and my first exposure to being a true fan of something!
Congrats on your achievement!!!

I had a lot of favorites this year! But if I had to pick the one that‘s stayed with me the most so far it would probably be this one, closely followed by The Wait. Congrats on your achievement! @EH2018
Oh my gosh pleaseeeeee! 🎉🎉
This is my favorite book series. You are amazing ❤️❤️
#OctHPGiveaway @wanderinglynn
This book was a bit of a slog for me. I was kind of iffy with Caraval, but this verged pretty close to me saying “I don‘t really like this.”
The main character annoyed me at times, the silly way both male characters fawn over her, the way the plot feels secondary to the two love interests. It just wasn‘t a strong read for me. Don‘t know if I will even read the third in the series. I might, but it won‘t be for a while.
⭐️⭐️ and a half stars.
@BurghBookAddict oh my gosh this made my day! This has been on my tbr list forever!!! ❤️❤️❤️ you are the best!!!

September wrap up: 19 📚
Faves:
⭐️The Devil in the White City
⭐️ Kill the Farm Boy
⭐️The Haunting of Hill House
⭐️Small Spaces
⭐️Sharp Objects
⭐️Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew‘d
Least Fave:
The Shining
✅The build up and scary scenes are A++.
✅The intense fear and trauma.
✅ I could not stop turning the pages!
❌The continuous bad language (I‘m not a huge fan of the number of times the n and c words are used in this.)
❌ Strange sexual horror? What is it with King and making sucking c**** a fear tactic?
❌ Jack‘s abusive behavior - even when he‘s “sane”.
Overall, I love the plot and the ideas but a bit of a let down all the same.
Read The Haunting of Hill House and Small Spaces. Both were solid picks.
Hill House did drag a little in parts and I figured out the mystery in Small Spaces pretty quickly, but both were pretty scary and very atmospheric. Would read both again!
Also, I need some good fall/ thriller/ spooky books! I love Coraline, and murder mysteries. I have to admit I wasn‘t super impressed with It, so no King recs, please :)
I love this series. Even if they are sort of similar, and I figure out the mystery. (Or at least parts of it). Flavia is a character I will read about again and again. And who ends a book like THAT? Cruelty, Mr. Bradley!
Wow! Loved this book. I am a little macabre and love anything to do with real life murder. Plus, there was so much I didn‘t know about the fair. So cool! I loved every minute and tore through it in one day.
Thanks @MirrorMask for encouraging me to read this tbr. Definitely a favorite!
I love fairytales and this was a satirical and funny take on them! I loved the characters and the twists! A funny, cute, and enjoyable read with quite a bit of adult humor in there. I will be picking up the next one!
1. Either
2. Star Wars
3. Both :) depends on my mood
4. Tolkien, but I haven‘t read the Game of Thrones series.
5. You! Thanks for tagging me @MirrorMask @BurghBookAddict

The first three books in this series will always be my favorite. I liked the others, but those first three are just amazing. ❤️🍁😍
1. I stage managed The Three Excellent Cows and took a trip to Duluth.
2. Just sitting in my chair.
3. Whenever the mood strikes!
4. Not really
5. Usually finding something else to do for a while. Listening to music or watching a YouTube video or TV show.
#HumoDayPost @MinDea
1. Short Story
2. Harry Potter
3. Physical Book
4. Both please :) ❤️
5. Agatha Christie

📚least fave: It
👻 Coraline, the Frighteners, Arsenic and Old Lace, the adventures of Ichabod and Mr.Toad (Disney version), hocus pocus
🍁 Reese‘s Peanut Butter cups, anything else chocolate really.
🎃 coraline, the lie tree, it wasn‘t really scary but it was dark
🌙 all the decorations! I‘m a sucker for Halloween decorations!
👻 yay!
🎃 yay!
🍁 black cat or owl for sure!
@JoScho
I had mixed feelings about this book. The prose was beautiful, but the plot was kind of predictable. Also, I would have liked a little less about the baby. I understand why she used that, but it got a little old after a while. Also, the silly fighting between the women and Isa and her significant other got a bit old as well.
The mystery was a tiny bit disappointing and I felt like it wasn‘t worth all the build up.
1. Beauty and the Beast, but I also really enjoy a ton more.
2. Maleficent
3. Beauty and the Beast animated version, I also love Ever After. But really I‘m a sucker for just about any fairytale adaption there is. So if you have good suggestions :)
4. @BurghBookAddict
Thanks for the tag @MirrorMask

There were parts of this I liked, and other parts that just flabbergasted me.
I liked the first 3/4 well enough. But those last few chapters kind of spoiled it. The constant switching between time periods. The weird thing with Bev. (Don‘t even get me going on how creepy that was.) There seemed to be no point other than to shock. The final show down was kind of a let down and it was a bit confusing.
All in all, not a favorite.
Congrats on your milestone! 🎉🎉! I pick 6! @kstadt929 #4567blindgiveaway
