I liked this one, but I don‘t know that I‘ll continue the trilogy. Thankfully it had a complete ending. It was just too slow of a read for me.

Thank you so much for this VERY fall package @Captivatedbybooks 🍁🍂. I appreciate good wrapping and I love the fall leaf decor! I‘ve spread it around my house. The books are perfect, as is everything else! Thank you, and thanks for making sure it got to me today ❤️ #fffs
The characters were well written and the plot moved along nicely. There were some surprises but nothing that felt forced.
Another reread for the beginning of the year. I really liked the premise, but the weird law story thrown in at the 75% mark always sends me for a loop. After I finish my current work read, I‘ll probably look into the sequels.
So much fun in this package! Witch bells, a beautiful shawl, candles- i LOVE the scents!, Yummy tea! beautiful infuser, VEGAN CANDY 🖤 and a very fun booksleeve and book marks! thank you so much Melanie for everything you sent! #mws #modernwitchswap
Theis book drew me in pretty quickly and was a quick, easy read. I love wine and I love a good story interlaced with magic.
I think the biggest problem with this book is that it wasn‘t long enough. The vine magic (and magic in general) was interesting but not very flushed out. It felt like I was dropped into a magical world I was already supposed to understand.
The romantic plot was also unsatisfying. They went from being suspicious and hate to in love with little time spent on how they got there. It basically happened during a 3 month time skip.
Finished 9/17/2022
This was a fun book. I loved it 💚
It starts out as Elena a vine witch, is coming out of a curse; she was a toad for seven years. She heads back to her home a vineyard in France only to find out that the vineyard was sold to a new owner who doesn't believe in witchcraft.

Today, I‘m sharing a Cauldron photo collage. This is all of my unread ebooks on my Kindle that have Witches in them. I like when books have Witches in them.
This one sat on my shelf longer than it should have once I finally read it. Very glad I already have the rest of the series to read through as I loved every bit of the first!
Paranormal and fantasy elements combined to create a story of redemption and discovery. Elena has a long road to once again reach her potential. Along the way she'll have to build trust with Jean-Paul, both with magic and herself. The relationship building was skillfully done, allowing the characters time to address their feelings and maturely approach them.

Considering I went into this book essentially blind…. It wasn‘t bad. Not my usual type of read, but good.

Was able to finish one Bingo for #LittenListen using from top down: New-to-you-narrator (Jordan Cobb 💚), A Classic, Spells, Poison or Witches, A Library Loan, & TBR listen. I think a Bingo is 25 points plus 1 participation for my #TeamHendrix total.
A headache most of of the day had me finishing this one. I enjoyed it—the idea of vine witches in France, responsible for the quality & taste of the wines & there were spells & treachery & some romance thrown in. Happy to see one of the supporting characters I especially liked is in the next book. Not sure what #LittenListen square I‘ll use for it for yet

Book 9 of October themed reads. I thought this one was really good. Found it as a Kindle Unlimited read and swan dived in. Magic, deceit, mystery it has it all here!

I did 2 hours of #audioblogging today writing a roundup post while listening to one of the titles on my October #TBR for all of the Halloween challenges. I‘m enjoying it so far—I like the mix of witches, spells & of course wine. 🍷Using it to catch up on the photo challenge as the cover is #black and I found a picture of a vineyard at #night
#LittensDressedInBlood – I Put a Spell On You – I didn‘t actually like this book, but I wanted to! I really liked the way magic works in it. It begins with the main character emerging from a spell that‘s been placed on her, escaping from the form of a frog.
Enjoyed the book! Was a good audible while riding in car. Witchery, hexes and spells and involves wine 🍷 😄
This series is charming. Magic, adventure, love, Good wine and French countryside!
It was pretty cool, it had mystery, magic, and a touch of romance. I liked it 😁 3.5/5🌟

The beginning was so intriguing even if slow but it picks up rapidly halfway through. Loved the emphasis on the craft & it‘s origins as opposed to parlor tricks. Elena was a complex character. Shocking last two chapters, I didn‘t see coming. Can‘t wait to continue the series.
I truly enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the story in this one. There were some twists I saw coming and others I didn‘t, so, overall, I wouldn‘t say the events are too predictable. The concept of vine witches is also original and very interesting. I can‘t wait to read the sequel!
Audiobook via Kindle Unlimited - started reading and got bored so audio seemed a fair try. Enjoyed the unique take on witchcraft and it‘s mix with wine making, clever concept. Narrator was excellent. Slow start and picks up around the 60% point. 📚📚📚
I don‘t know why, something about it just didn‘t resonate with me. I only got about a quarter of the way through and just couldn‘t carry on. I feel bad because I almost never DNF. 😔
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫Interesting story. Listened to the audiobook version. Didn‘t like the ending but enjoyed the overall book and listening experience
This was a somewhat interesting story, but then the ending didn't really make sense based on the rest of the story. I thought the story was going to be more about the vineyards, rather than random feuds between witches.
Finished The Vine Witch yesterday, trying to decide on a new book while I do some #audioknitting at my BFFs house 🖤

I picked this one based on the pretty cover, and I have ZERO regrets.
A fun escape where witches are cursed, seek revenge, and make amazing wine. I'll drink to that!🍷
I would love to know more about the pastry witch though. I'm so intrigued by her use of magic in baking to connect lovers. Maybe in the third book?

I really enjoyed this one when I read it last year on my kindle... and it found it‘s way into my amazon basket *because* I just needed one more thing to qualify for free international postage 😉
The nibling is enjoying their sandbox, and I am enjoying this book. Win-win. ☀️
I was iffy on this, and then at 25% it ran headfirst into one of my biggest bookish pet peeves. It‘s too bad; the writing wasn‘t great and I rolled my eyes a lot (especially at the Wiccan terminology being used… you‘re about fifty years too early, folks), but I really liked the way the magic was portrayed.
This months bookclub pick has been on my TBR list for a while. And, I think, might finally pull me away from homesteading/farming books.
I didn't need anything to challenge me right now, I just needed to escape into a world where witches make wine and get cursed and then just sprinkle a little romance on top. I would and have recommended this to the francophiles in my life, and I therefore also recommend it to you if you think that all sounds good.
This one wasn‘t bad! I didn‘t have high expectations but it ended up being an enjoyable, quick read. I think it‘s going to be a series (?) and I‘d be interested to see how characters are developed.
Next up. Started this last night before bed but didn‘t get too far. I was very interested in the first couple of chapters!
The premise here is enticing: vineyards cultivated by witches using magic, 1920's rural France, culture clash between a new human vineyard owner who trusts science and the witches who have tended the wine for generations, a murder mystery and revenge plot. Alas, the execution lacks. The author does a lot of telling vs. showing, and parts are overwritten/overwrought. The romance part is very weakly developed. I didn't enjoy this one.

I listened to Luanne G. Smith's The Vine Witch via Kindle Unlimited (I did take advantage of whispersync to read a little bit by Kindle) kind of on a whim. I hadn't heard much about it, but I liked the cover, and the description was intriguing. What a great read!⠀
⠀
At its center, the novel is about vine witches (hence the title!), women in the Chanceaux Valley of France who have a talent for nurturing vineyards to create the most amazing wine. ⬇️
Luanne Smith‘s debut book..i enjoyed reading it. I could picture each of the characters and visualize what was taking place.
