A gorgeous poetry collection. It wasn't what I originally expected, but once I realized what it actually was, I absolutely loved it. There are several beautiful poems and lines this collection. My favorites were in the mother section and pages 156 to pretty much the end.
The characters were well written and the plot moved along nicely. There were some surprises but nothing that felt forced.
There were some beautiful lines and poems in this collection. I enjoyed reading it! Took my breath away a couple times
My book comes out this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A beautiful collection of poems! There were several poems and phrases that just shook me, which is the point, right? Absolutely gorgeous poems on the feminine experience
Read along with us on Fable!!
This is a great collection so far and we're reading it through August!
I love this collection SO MUCH! Nikita Gill is one of my favorite poets and I adore the way she gives alternate perspectives to known myths.
There are so many poems that I absolutely love in this collection. It shares the immigrant to ghe US experience, specifically from Brazil, and living in two worlds, wanting better for both countries and the people who traverse between them. Gorgeous
This has been a beautiful poetry collection about being from Brazil and being an immigrant to America.
This is a beautiful collection of poems that deliver so much about what it was like in Palestine before 2023
I couldn't get the format of the poem to save, but I love the poem that begins with this passage. This has been an amazing poetry collection.
I have a feeling I'm going to love this collection. This line is out of the introduction and it's setting things up well. It was a timely selection in our club, and I'm looking forward to it, even though it will probably break my heart. As poetry often does

I can only fir the beginning but this is a fabulous poem from an amazing poet. This is how the world makes me feel these days.

This is a compelling collection. I had never considered the experience of death in the Buddhist tradition or the many places we cross death's path. Understanding the background a little helped but wasn't required to be moved by these poems.
I am so glad I came across this book!! It had so much for me to digest and work through. Questions to ask and new perspectives to think about. Most notably, it got me thinking about how the intersections of my heritage create a picture that could never be entirely one or the other.
This is our next #fable bookclub read!
I started it on the first and it is amazing so far. The poetry collection is based on the 49 days between death and reincarnation. Has anyone read it already?
A beautiful poetry collection.
It wasn't what I expected, which was a bit more of the poet's personal experience. Instead of poems that describe the poet's journey of healing, it was more of a guide through healing and heartbreak. The poems are directed to the reader, rather than narrate. It's interesting and different. I wish I had it around when I was going through my own heartbreak.
I enjoyed this collection much more than I expected
I was feeling guilty about listening to an audiobook of The Iliad instead of reading it and then I remembered ....
It was meant to be heard. Not that I don't always love audiobooks. I'm excited to start this version
Thank yoy Kwame Alexander for sharing this recipe! I can't wait to try others but this is my first go at dinner rolls and they came out great!
I know I've mentioned Fable before, but I finally decided to make my own book club. I love the active clubs, but I couldn't find one for poetry. It was also difficult finding any that focuses on poetry. Check out the club!
We're starting with Keats and will do a modern poet next. My plan is to switch between classic and contemporary poets.

Captivating
I learned so much from this collection.
I highly recommend this one for anyone having trouble dealing with their family. It was a welcome reminder for me, coming into the holiday season, that I don't own all the things that happened to my family nor their feelings or regrets those things.
It may seem like a late post since last night was Halloween, but there's no one time to be witch....
"whitewashed is brainwashing"
I never thought of it that way, but yeah
❤️❤️❤️❤️ another great collection! I love the letters and recipes in here too. It's so great example of memoir poetry. I picked it up as research for my own work but still very much enjoyed it. I gotta try some of the recipes, I'll share when I do.
"Methodology is Ritual. Hypotheses are Prophecies. "
I just came across this and had to share. There is magic in normal things when we look for it. I'm attempting that life.
The writing was gorgeous, the plot and world building was interesting and made sense, the characters were realistic and relatable, the narrators were amazing. But really, the writing. The way that Emilia Hart weaves the stories of the three women together and the pacing is so well done. I have a love of witch stories anyway and this one did not disappoint. There are some parts I'm going to be thinking about for a while. It just spoke to me.
Anyone else prepping for Hobbit Day!
I saw it on Pinterest and decided this was the holiday I needed. Banana bread for first breakfast in the morning.
This is a delightful little collection. It's pretty short, short enough to be read in a single setting, though I did stretch it out a touch. I needed for there to be space between the poems of his parents and those of his kids. That choice was validated by the poems once I read them too. I think the ones about the kids are my favorite.
I was intrigued by the title of Love Poems from God and it was really cute. Some of the poems were more compelling than others for me, but that's the way of poetry. An altogether interesting selection of poets over the centuries too. It was surprising and exactly what I expected somehow.
I have to admit, this one made me laugh. These poems are in no way what I could have imagined from their authors. I definitely had some biases about the old saints and such. This collection has been rather enlightening.
I just picked up this gorgeous hard cover for my new #fablebookclub. I've never really done a book club or read-a-long, so this'll be an experience.

When it comes to poetry, it's hard to ignore religion and such for too long. But also, the concept of this collection caught my attention. It's universal rather than just Christian, and I love seeing work from other religions and cultures too. I'm excited to be starting this one.
I'll be honest, I put a lot of years in this battles. Yoga helped more than I can describe. So did poetry.
Such great imagery. I'm enjoying this collection so far and particularly love this one.
I was all set to start this book this morning and I saw #firstlinefriday on my feed at the same time. It seemed timely.
"You watch entranced as she races through her days, just like you do, but she is unstoppable with seemingly endless energy."
A part of me wishes I could be described that way, maybe I was once. Now it just sounds exhausting.
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this collection. I felt every moment of it.
