For me, the Summer is the best time of year for reading Science Fiction. So, from June 21st, the official first day of Summer, to the 21st of September (the day before the Autumnal Equinox), I'm reading as much Sci-Fi as possible. I've got a lot of it on my TBR shelves, and I'm inviting all of you to join me! #SciFiSummer

Libro ben scritto e condito con geniale umorismo inglese, tuttavia a volte a discapito della trama volutamente eccessiva e confusionaria, in cui tutto accade per caso. Recensione completa: https://www.instagram.com/p/CesvTqaM5cW/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I should have just stuck with the first novel. It was great. Hilarious. The style was just so much fun. After 800 pages I‘m less enthusiastic. If I read this in the future I will make sure it‘s only The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, the Ultimate will not be read again.

1. After changing my answer a dozen times, I‘ve settled on Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy. There are so many surprising, beautifully/hilariously written moments that you can only truly enjoy the first time.
2. My current read Forces of Nature is melting my brain, but in a good way. Physics is not an easy subject for most, but I particularly struggle with the Maths involved. 😅

No tags since I‘m late. 🤪

TheSpineView You are a better person than me tackling that kind of math! I cringe just thinking about it! 😯 4y
peanutnine Hitchhikers is such a good choice!! It's definitely surprising the first time you read it 4y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @TheSpineView Lol, I‘ll admit sometimes my brain fuzzes out while reading the equations and I have to reread them more than once just to slightly understand what‘s going on. I do better with the wordy explanations. 😅 4y

So this is the omnibus of all Hitchhiker books, which I own a very battered copy of. I read this at least once a year, usually as a pick me up. It's humour is unparalleled and I often wish all sci-fi was like this. How absurd or confusing it may seem, stick with it and you won't regret it. Just remember, whatever you do: DON'T PANIC!

A random of assortment of #3books gifted to me! Hitchhikers was a gift from my brother-in-law that‘s on my short list TBR. Frida‘s quotes was a wedding anniversary gift from some friends who know I love Frida and my wife hates Frida. Pastrix was a “gift” but more of a pass-along book. My cousin gave it to my aunt, who gave it to me, my wife read it, then she gave it to a friend. We all signed our names in the front, so it‘s a sort of library card!

This book was pretty much a joy to read. It was long, given that it is five books in one. I almost stopped reading after the first book, but I'm glad I didn't because my favorite scene was actually in the second book. If you are a fan of humorous sci-fi, or even if you're not (I've never really been a sci-fi nut), I would recommend it. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Omg! I just finished this fantastic book and the ending was well worth the long wait!!! Such an amazing read and 10/10 recommend if you haven't picked it up yet

TheEllieMo I just bought the Trilogy in Five Parts the other day; I‘ve previously read all 5 books separately, I‘m feeling a need to reread the entire collection very soon - while drinking a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, preferably 😆 5y
OneStrangeGuy @TheEllieMo Mmm sounds like a delicious way to reread them! Not sure how much you will remember from the books though haha (edited) 5y
TheEllieMo @OneStrangeGuy I remember a lot about the first couple of books, mainly because I saw the TV series and had the radio show on tape (cassette tape! Remember that?!), the later books I‘m very hazy on so it will be good to reread them 5y

Cinfhen That passage is so convoluted that it makes my head spin! LiterRohde @Cinfhen Thank you! I just wanted to be part of the “in” crowd and for the life of me, it went right over my head this time. Thanks for the help. And as a side note, in my sick brain, the convolution is what makes this book so funny. It‘s like some of the passages from A Series of Unfortunate Events. They make my head spin!
