How cute are these end pages?
My time as a student is coming to a close, I‘ll be graduating with my MLIS and graduate certificate in archives in December. I didn‘t stop between my grad and undergrad so it‘s been a long time since I haven‘t had homework. I want to work in an archives but I‘m open to all opportunities in libraries, archives, museums, nonprofits etc. any advice for emerging professionals? Any books that helped you in a job search? #jobhunt #libraries #archives
What a great audiobook! The narrator had great inflection and presence for each character and no two sounded alike. A good gothic vibed mystery that wasn‘t predictable.
I‘ve been MIA on here but excited to be back. Turns out having 2 jobs and doing graduate school leaves you very run down lol. Excited to be back and will try to post more. Here‘s a required reading for my research methods course. #keeponkeepingon
1.(apart from working) 1-2
2. 11 from 2 libraries
3. 6 nonfiction, 1 tv show, 2 chick lit, 1 literary fiction, 1 YA
4. Nope I have anxiety about that (even though my job gives me fine free privileges)
5. None trying to tackle my books I own and using Hoopla with no wait time
6. One I‘m hoping will just magically be available is Angie Thomas‘s On the Come Up
Current read is tagged :)
#librarylove @monalyisha
What a lousy reading month :/ the kind when even the shortest book takes weeks to finish. School and work has me busy, here‘s to March being better :)
Some days working at a public library is thankless but then one little thing happens that just warms my cold heart lol . I helped a little girl and her mom find a book today with little to go on, after a few minutes I turned my computer screen “does this look like the book?” Her face lit up and as I looked up the call number her mom said “she‘s a librarian and used her magic to find your book”.
Which one to tackle first?? (Procrastinating my homework 🤫)
Feeling inspired by my newest read. A.J Jacobs commits to life experiments in his books and is trying to be the healthiest man alive. Going system by system he tries to follow all the conflicting advice about health. He‘s a humor writer and that‘s what I enjoy about it. I loved his book “The Year of Living Biblically” and have read it multiple times. #breakfast #funnybooks #health
This February I‘m dedicating all my reading to black authors! Please leave any books that I can‘t miss. I love most all genres, nothing is off limits. #readingrecs #blackhistorymonth #blackauthors
So the world is rocked by an epidemic called the Georgia Flu in the aftermath a traveling band of musicians and actors travel the apocalyptic country to perform but it‘s sooo much more than that. It‘s so wonderfully complex and characters are connected in ways that were delightful to discover. Loved it so much #apocalypticfiction #litsyatoz #theletterM
I don‘t have any sisters so I loved reading about the Song sisters incredible bond. This was so cute and just what I needed to kick off another year of reading.
It kinda felt like a mix between Black Panther and Avatar the last airbender. Very good fantasy that kept me entertained till the very end. #childrenofbloodandbone
It‘s never just a trip to Barnes and Noble for coffee. I should know better. #bookhaul #barnesandnoble #sixofcrows #aliceinwonderland #hitchhikersguide
Eli and his family are living in a compound prepared for them by the patriarch of household. After escaping what they are told was a nuclear blast they live in an underground compound for 6 years. I just really like survival/apocalypse scenarios.
What a smart little book. An intriguing mystery so complex and exciting as well. Highly recommend for kids and adults
One more assignment for this semester, one more book in my reading goal for the year. And a whole shelf I want to get to but can‘t. Just gotta power through!
I‘ve heard mixed reviews, but let‘s see what can be done about my piles of clothes and books haha #decemberreads #lifestyle
“Their most spectacular experiment involved a substance known as diethyl zinc or DEZ...but it has an unfortunate side effect: it bursts into flames on contact with air and explodes if exposed to water.” Lesson for everyone be careful with paper deacidifcation projects
So close to reaching my reading goal for the year, cause I want to spend December rereading Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. 4 books away from 50 #readinggoals #novemberreads
I‘m not an actor, don‘t even aspire to be one but Jenna makes me wish I was one. I wish she would create an audiobook full of step by step instructions for my future career. Love her advice, every aspiring actor needs to read this! #TheOffice #JennaFischer #Acting
Can‘t say I didn‘t see this coming. #foreverahufflepuff #hufflepuff #sortinghat

November means a new month of reading I have about 5 books on my TBR. This graphic novel just came in at the library and I recommend it for anyone who loves the McElroys and their podcasts or just enjoys RPGs especially D&D. #theadventurezone
Jenna: “Who eats 15 fish filets?”
Virgil: “They weren‘t all at once”
This line is giving me The Office flashbacks to when Ryan helps Michael clean out his car.
Ryan: how many filet-o-fishes did you eat?
Michael: that was over a period of several months. #theoffice #jodipicoult
“Nearly only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades.”(p.156) I‘ve been so busy with school my October TBR has fizzled down to just this book which is perfect for Halloween. I‘m about halfway through, any suggestions for which Neil Gaiman book I should read next? #neilgaiman #halloweenreads #suggestions
$14 for all these, I have a problem with discount book hauls 👏🏻#bookhaul #usedbooks #discountbooks #retailtherapy
Rarely do I rush out to buy brand new hardcovers but the premise reminded me of the Iron Giant and I love that movie.
Almost caught up with the the show. Let‘s find out if the comics are better.
Happy #ReadABookDay book 1 of saga on hoopla is keeping me company while I feel sick. First read of an adult graphic novel and I‘m enjoying the sci-fi adventure aspects.
Picked this up on a recommendation from Hannah on her booktube channel ‘a clockwork reader‘. Only 100 pages in and it‘s a wonderful, comforting, and intriguing story I don‘t want to end.
It‘s been a long week but finally I can read in bed. Listening to nature sounds on Spotify makes this all the more immersive.
Not one of those West Point, war college, medals-up-the-ass, four-star fart bags said, “Hey we got plenty of fancy weapons, we got enough shit for them to shoot?” 😂🤣
Engaging and sometimes enraging characters. Talented audiobook narration. Somewhat slow at beginning picked up in the middle, end felt a bit deflated. Looking forward to movie adaptation.
Andi Arndt is super talented as the voice of Emily. This book is giving me the creeps in the best way.
I kinda guessed the ending but in an exciting way not a let down way. A great book for anyone looking for a sprinkling of mystery and family drama all set in a backdrop of a bookstore 📚
I don‘t know why but I love survival scenario books. The more mundanely detailed the better. Please more paragraphs about scrounging for canned goods 🤣 #apocalypse #survival
Soothing to hear Carrie Fischer on my long commute. She reminds me of my grandmother but with more cursing 😂
Granted my last full read was 7 years ago, this is one of my favorite sci-fi middle grade books. Characters have a great dynamic and I like the world.
