“I appreciate failure. Failure means that an attempt was made, and a lesson can be learned. As long as we‘re alive after the effort, there is a chance for #success the next time around.” #QuotsyMarch18
I'm so excited to have gotten tickets to see this!!! I really admire Takei's social activism, & the experience & message that he is sharing in this work is so important in this time when white supremacists & other hate groups are emboldened & finding more success in undoing any progress we have made toward equality, being better to one another, & finding understanding & appreciation of the differences that make our society better & richer...
😳😳😳😳 *tries to hold it in*...*trying*...*struggling*...🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😝😝😝😝😝🙈🙊🙉😹😹😹🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ #LitsyHumor
Oh...oh myyyy. It was such a lovely passage until.... 😳😂👏🏻🙈 #LitsyHumor
Hat tip @TrishB for tonight's episode of #LitsyHumor 😂👏🏻.
Another tattoo gone awry! 😳😱🙊🙈 #LitsyHumor
I already have >1000 unread books in my house.... It appears that Litsy will quickly double that number! #BlameLitsy #BookOutlet (it's like a torture device for people who are trying to *reduce* the size of their TBRs 😳) #FolioFreaks #FolioSociety (ditto, but with gorgeous books). Though in reality I wouldn't mind a personal library just like this ....
Don't get me wrong: I respect George Takei, especially his gay and anti-racist activism, and he has often cracked me up over the years with his tweets and what-not. But the world didn't need this book—or at least I sure didn't. It is little more than a string of ponderous elaborations on what prompted each famous tweet, and what the reaction was thereto. Brevity is the soul of wit, indeed.
Now there's a TV show I'd pay money to see! Obviously, Takei's book was penned five years ago as Betty is now 95. Anyway, this is a light, fluffy read, and my final selection for the book-with-an-exclamation-point-in-its-title category for the Eclectic Readers challenge. I will finish this one come hell or high water!
Going to see George Takei's "Allegiance" at the movie theater tonight! I'm ridiculously excited. What a perfect message for the times we're facing, and what a phenomenal person.
Oh my! 💜 Litsy 💙Litsy ❤️Litsy
Just thought the good people of Litsy would have fun with this too 😂
