This was a fun piece of YA fluff - predictable, but cute, with likable characters.

Thank you so so much @TheAromaofBooks for sharing the love with me! I so appreciate your thoughtfulness! ❤️💙💚
Mixed feelings on this one. The pacing was very uneven - I was (frankly) bored for stretches of the story where nothing is really happening. It was an interesting decision to have the perspective be not from the person who won the lottery, but one of his best friends. Part of my personal problem with this book is that I don't completely agree with Alice's philosophy about fate and luck, although there was one quote about grief that I'll put ⬇️
I‘ve always been a cheesy YA romance lover. Simple and Sweet 💏 #24in48
I really enjoyed this book. Everyone has thoughts about what would happen and what they would do if they won the lottery. This book really gives a fun and inspiring view of what is possible. I loved that this was YA because it is such a positive message and really put a smile on my face.
Two books with nearly identical titles about people who had a change of #fortune thanks to a winning lottery ticket. #literaryluck

Congratulations @TheSpineView on achieving 50k! #50KLoveLitsy what a great giveaway, folks!! Check her out!
This was one of the best books I have EVER read! But- spoiler alert- when Teddy reads the card from his birthday at the end 😩 and it leaves it... on a CLIFFHANGER!! It is soooo annoying. Would 100% recommend unless you don‘t like rom-coms then it may not be the book for you.

This is a pretty standard coming-of-age novel, including all of the tropes of unrequited love, forced love triangles, overly tragic backstories, and friends fighting due to miscommunication. The best parts are any scenes involving the main character interacting with her uncle. These are the conversations with the most depth and they provide the most insight into who these people really are.
Cute YA book about a teen who buys her best friend a lottery ticket for his 18th birthday and it is a winning ticket. It follows how the teens cope with their friends new found fame and money.
I did it, I did it! I read two books, two novellas, and read about 70 pages in the tagged book. Thanks @Samplergal for putting this readathon together! #12intwo
When there‘s another counter of free books in your laundry room, you MUST take some. You must.📚📚📚
Okay, but not amazing book. Cute. Predictable. A quick read. Read it if you‘d like, but you‘re not missing anything if you don‘t.
This book got me out of my reading slump! I don‘t know why contemporary books always gets me out of reading slumps 😅 I totally enjoyed this one! Plus, I got to meet her and I also got my book signed! 💕
This is the first book I've read by Jennifer E. Smith, and I liked it enough to look for more. Windfall is about love and luck, friendship, and the meaning of family. ☘❤ The story was engaging from page one. Be prepared for chapter 30; I ugly-cried through the whole thing. 😭
First book finished in 2018, and it was a wonderful YA read. Can‘t wait to read more from Smith.
First experience with my library's new app, Libby, and it's way better than the Overdrive app! As for the book, gosh, I feel like I'm picky lately! This was fine but not amazing. My last YA was When Dimple Met Rishi, so it's hard to live up to that. I wasn't super excited by the direction the romance took. However, this book made me think a lot about what I would do if I suddenly had millions of dollars!
Reading while road tripping: yea or nay? I'm all for reading anytime, anywhere 🌲 Just finished up this perfect summer YA gem while winding around the roads of Mount Rainier national park 👍 Also, happy #nationalbookloversday 🎉
4/5 stars.
I couldn't really bring myself to give this book a poor rating, even though the later half of it was a bit hard to swallow. It's not terribly fun sitting through a book featuring a girl being unrequitedly in love with a guy who isn't good for/to her, with me shouting at her all the while to just move on. Otherwise, the characters were wonderful, the style was great, and the plot was cute.

What would you do if you won the lottery and what would you do if you purchased the ticket as a gift for your unrequited love/BFF? This contemporary beautifully explores that topic with well-rounded characters, well-paced story and gorgeously simplistic writing.

Best friends, secret crushes, and a multimillion dollar lottery? I'm expecting tons of luck and love from this book.
I've got my green tea and my comfy pillow, so I'm ready to go!

Scored big at the library sale shelf - these 3 books for $5! I'm feeling proud of all my heads up purchasing although hubby keeps telling me I won't have any room in the luggage for all my new books!
A huge thank you to @melrailey for all these amazing goodies!! You could have heard the squeals of delight outside when I started to open the gifts! You are so thoughtful with these as they are some of my favorite things. I love the P&P flags, the Gryffindor bath bomb and the candle. The Princess Bride is one of my favorites along with Neil Gaiman! And Windfall is autographed! Thank you so much! #beachinbookswap
Did not wow me away like previous books of Jen Smith but nevertheless a good one!
Windfall at a waterfall 🇫🇯
This was one of those books that had me laughing and crying the whole way through. Such beautiful writing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
3 /5 🌟🌟🌟
Cute ya contemporary - a decent summery read. Nothing particularly exciting or original. Didn't really have any significant connections to any of the characters. Not one of my fave books this year, but definitely one of the best covers.
The other hot YA book I've been hearing so much about this summer. I adored this one. Girl buys lottery ticket for boy for his 18th birthday - and he wins MILLIONS. What could go wrong? I did not expect to cry as much as I did, but the tears were so worth it
Favorite Book Bought This Month

I always enjoy Jennifer E. Smith's books. I like that they cover real (although sometimes rare) situations without being melodramatic or over the top. There aren't histrionics.
This book is no exception. The situation is rare, but the characters are so believable. This is just a really fun book.

My last #litsypartofone post. It's been a good reading weekend. Hope to finish this book soon.

The last book I read was sooooo good, (The Upside of Unrequited) that I kinda want to just read it again right now, but I've gotta finish some I've already started! #litsypartyofone
