Sooooo good 🙌🏼 Even as an adult, I learned some things from Macy‘s evolution into a happier human. Not everything is going to be perfect, & that is NORMAL!

Not my favorite… When done well, books can really make me feel nostalgic for summer/youth. This book didn‘t do that. It felt boring with superficial characters. A lot of “telling” instead of “showing.” It had potential 🤷🏼♀️
As someone in her mid 20s, I have NO idea how this was my first time reading a Sarah Dessen book. I am HOOKED! This coming of age novel never had a boring moment. It was perfectly paced with just the right amount of character development.
I resonated with Dessen‘s thoughts about summer, which she noted at the end of the book (& which I attached above). The nostalgia of a high school summer is a precious feeling which Dessen captured magically. 5/5
Disclaimer: not a mom nor a pre-established fan of Bunmi Laditan. I saw this book on the shelf at the library so I grabbed it.
With that said, I thought the book had some funny moments. Some parts seemed a tad unrealistic, but I guess that‘s the point of fiction books. Would I read it again? No. Was it an easy, entertaining airport read? Yup! Overall, 3/5
Super easy read! A few twists were unexpected, but I did appreciate a happy ending.
I bailed 🤷🏼♀️ If I had time to read the book in one sitting, I probably would have enjoyed it more… but this book just didn‘t feel like the kind I could put down & pick up again later.
4/5
Seems to be an unpopular opinion but I liked this book! I appreciated the continuation of Adam/Mia‘s stories, but this time more from Adam‘s perspective. I did read both “If I Stay” & “Where She Went” back to back. If the first book was a standalone story, I would not have appreciated it as much.
TW- suicide. W O W! I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I truly couldn‘t put it down. I really identified with Finch‘s self deprecating humor in the first half of the book. His chemistry with Violet was practically palpable! Sort of reminded me of Looking for Alaska. I need recs for similar books!
3/5
Not my favorite book. Some parts of the story line were good, but overall I felt like it dragged on & on. This is oddly nit picky but I HATED how the characters were frequently referenced as both their first and last names. Who talks like that irl? Not for me 🤷🏼♀️
I liked that this book focused on a relationship between daughter & father as well as a romantic relationship. However, it felt a bit long at times, especially compared to the first two of the series. Still a pick, though! I‘m most intrigued by the outdoor cinema that‘s mentioned in the book. I‘m dying to go to Greece now! 🇬🇷
Love & Luck is the type of book that gets better as you go. I liked it way more at the end than I did at the beginning. I included a couple of my favorite parts of the book. Though they did show up towards the end, I do wish we got to see more of Lina & Ren from Love & Gelato.
Easy read! Despite the lightheartedness, I could still deeply feel heartbreak at certain points. Already bought the next book in the series!
Loved this book in high school, loved it again 11 years later. I just wish there was more consistency with the details. The first ~75% of the book covers a fairly detailed childhood, but it feels like we fly through adulthood in the last 25%.
I may try again later, but for now it‘s a bail 🤷🏼♀️ I couldn‘t stay interested… at all.
This was a great listen! Perfect at 1.2x speed while wrapping Christmas presents :)
I‘ll rate this one a 4/5. Lots of good moments coupled with some missed opportunities. The best part was the chapter early in the book that detailed Marian & Conrad‘s summer fling… WOW 🔥
Loved this audiobook!
I loved this heartbreaking true story of a college athlete who died by suicide in 2014. Personally I loved that the chapters detailing Maddy‘s life were intertwined with fact/research based chapters on depression, suicide, etc. along with chapters detailing the author‘s personal connections to Maddy‘s dark feelings. 10/10 definitely recommend
1. Tagged! :)
2. I started listening to books on Audible in 2020. Never did that before but I learned I enjoy my commute much more when I‘m listening to a book vs music!
3. “The Hunting Party” because it‘s the January book for a book club I joined 🥰
This was an interesting book! I listened via audible but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I actually read it.
My Life Next Door was the perfect, easy novel to get me out of my reading slump! “A summer romance with depth” is an accurate review. Easy read, relatable characters, pleasant predictability (though the twist was NOT what I expected). Definitely the $1 I spent at the thrift store 😉
Happy friyay!
☀️ This book was set at one of my favorite places... the BEACH 🏖
☀️ Gray but 70s! Much better than the sweltering 90s we‘ve been having all week!
☀️ I‘m happy to say I haven‘t been on very many bad dates... 😂
☀️ 2 dogs who are practically my kids. Love both of my beagle mixes - Hank & Maggie 💞🐶

4- I used to play the piano
5- 🤘🏼
I loved the inner cover of this book! This was my first Nina LaCour book, but I‘ll be sure to read more! Not as dark as I‘d anticipated, but I will put a big TW for suicide/self harm because there a handful of graphic descriptions. I found it very easy to escape into Caitlin‘s life.
Not bad, but not life altering 🤷🏼♀️ Enjoyable, but seems more unrealistic than Sparks‘ other novels.
WOW! This book about an unlikely pair was so difficult to put down! I thoroughly enjoyed the overarching theme that you don‘t ever really know what other people are going through. Easy, fun, meaningful read. 5/5 🌟
I‘ve always been a fan of Sparks‘ cheesy romance novels. This one felt different. It was a beautiful story of a man‘s relationships with his family. I felt happy, sad, heartbroken, & even angry at times. 3.5/5 for me!
It was nice to have some closure after an up-and-down series. I wish the ending was longer with more detail. That‘s all I‘m really disappointed in.
Jenny Han needs to cool it with the cliffhangers! I loved this book as much as the first. It‘s hard to say anything without spoilers, so I‘ll just say that I can‘t wait to finish up the Belly trilogy.
This was the perfect novel to make me feel the youthful lust of summer again. I read it in a day because I couldn‘t put it down. I‘m so glad there are two more books in this series! The cliffhanger has me DYING to read the second book!
I had to wait about a week for this book to be checked back into the library, but it was worth the wait! The Proposal is still my fave book of the series, but that‘s because Nik & Carlos are my fave characters! This was a good “end” that tied up some story lines, but I hope there are more to finish up Nik/Carlos & Maddie/Theo!
If this is your first Ann Garvin book, I encourage you to read On Maggie‘s Watch which is MUCH better than The Dog Year. This book had a very long beginning & an abrupt ending. I felt like 95% of the book was leading up to the last chapter. Ultimately I feel like the book would‘ve been better had the first 300 or so pages been consolidated into maybe 150, then the last half of the book could have been an extended version of the final chapter.
Pick pick PICK! On Maggie‘s Watch is filled with beautiful imagery. The author is truly talented when it comes to painting scenes. That talent added to the interesting plot made a fantastic read.
This randomly-chosen-at-the-library book was amazing. It was very easy to escape into the world of Ally & Beth. Sadly, I really resonated with the strained friendship theme of this book & by the time I got to the slightly predictable ending, I was in tears.
I tried to make it through 100 pages, I really did. I randomly chose this book at the library. The reviews plastered all over the cover stated how hilarious this book was. I couldn‘t get into it.
I walked into the library one day, chose a random book shelf, then chose a random book off of said shelf. That is how I ended up with this book. I really enjoyed it! It was a quick, predictable at times, good read. I was not looking for a deep read so I think I made a good choice. It would have been cool for this to have been a four part series with each book about one of the girls.
This book was okay! It was an easy, quick read. In general, I liked it. Sometimes I was annoyed with the repetition. I plan to read the rest of the series so hopefully it gets better!
As a fan of Full House growing up & Fuller House now, I was really intrigued by this book. I found out some interesting things that I didn‘t know about Full House & learned all about Jodie‘s drug addiction/alcoholism & how she is overcoming it. I wish I had tallied how many times she used the phrase “out of control” because it was a LOT. Overall, glad I read it. Wouldn‘t read again.
The perfect ending to the Lara Jean & Peter trilogy. I was crying by the end.
Couldn‘t put it down! Ran out to the library to get book #3 as soon as I finished this one.
So good! Made me feel very nostalgic about high school romances.
