I walked into the library one day, chose a random book shelf, then chose a random book off of said shelf. That is how I ended up with this book. I really enjoyed it! It was a quick, predictable at times, good read. I was not looking for a deep read so I think I made a good choice. It would have been cool for this to have been a four part series with each book about one of the girls.

4.5☆ The brain continues to grow/develop until the late 20s. Still baffles me that 18 is old enough to buy cigarettes and join the military but you have to be 25 to rent a car. My husband and I got married at 20, hardly anyone threw a fuss. We experienced many of the same things the four relationships in this book struggled with. We too, had/have an amazing support group surround us and it made all the difference.

This book is a good chick lit book. It had a few unresolved storylines and I think I fell asleep during one or two chapters. Oops. It‘s a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

I‘m listening to this one while painting and all of a sudden my husband pipes up (who normally has his headphones on while at his computer) “so you‘re basically listening to a book that all the women are using their men to get somewhere.” 🤦🏼‍♀️ “um no...just a couple of them are.” 🤪

I absolutely loved this. On the heels of my first trip to Louisiana, my lifelong self-proclaimed obsession with all things from that beautiful state sent me to search my local library for more to keep that NOLA-feeling going. I admittedly came across this title by accident. Finished within 24 hours, it was the perfect mix of chick lit, marriage advice, and LA culture. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feel-good girlfriend read! 💗

ContraryMary An adult learning centre 🔸I am a stay at home mother and my husband is a chef 🔸I have colitis and it sucks 🔸I am really close to my parents and two sisters 🔸I have lived in my hometown my whole life and likely won't ever move away, unless we get some land just outside 🔸I listen to a lot of music and have over 6000 songs on my phone 🔸we have a Pomeranian named Khaleesi 🔸ask me anything else I'm an open book! erinreads I married my husband on our 10 year anniversary, too! We've been married for 4 years now. 👍🏻 7y
Christy2318 Colitis does suck!!! I've been fortunate to be in remission for a long time after Remicade & a gluten free diet but I really hated the must know where the bathroom is at all time and the steroids. Much sympathy! 7y
Lreads 6000 songs on your phone! I have about 2500 on mine. Not to mention audiobooks and podcasts. I need to have my music with me at all times! I don't care to stream music. 7y

Oh. My. GAHHH!! So much for a little fluff. I can't read one more word from this book. You have several different characters and each one gets more and more dreadful. Whoever the author is made southern women look like a bunch of desperate red neck floozies. Seriously, a girl that is calmed by the cigarette smell in her hair?! A naive girl that dropped out of high school to marry her football boyfriend?! Just stop. 🤚🏻🙄😤

Purrfectpages Yea, I was disappointed in this one, too. 7y
Jenni_Capps @Purrfectpages I didn't make it to the second half of the book but too be sure, it COULDN'T have gotten much worse. 7y
Purrfectpages @Jenni_Capps you're probably better off bailing. 7y

I gave this book a So-So, because though I did read it, it's not my usual genre. I got it from the local library as a Blind Date With A Book. They cover the book and just tell you a little bit about it. It's about 4 friends and their ups and downs thru a year.

This was a quick, yet disappointing read. I didn't really connect with any of the ladies and the sprinkling of sex seemed out of place. It was fairly easy to predict all the women would deserve better and all the men should know better. I don't know. Somehow this book sent mixed signals. Was the author for female independence or rather for finding the right man in due time?

Last, but DEFINITELY not least, I received such a lovely, thoughtful, and amazing package from Amanda with a copy of The Young Wives Club and a signed bookplate she received from the author just for us ❤️ I am so grateful for our new friendship and I admire the hell out of this woman. She works hard and she sets a wonderful example for her 3 Daughters as she chases and achieves her dream! Best #BookMail from a Dear friend 😊 Thank you!!! 😘

mrsamandahood There's not enough words to express how much I loved this caption! 🙈 (edited) 8y
mrsamandahood Ugh that terrible handwriting though! 😫😂 (edited) 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @mrsamandahood I mean every word ❤️ and don't worry, I have worse handwriting I promise! Lol I read somewhere that some people just think too fast to write beautifully. I am going to go with that 😉 8y

mrsamandahood @wordslinger42 ClutchGraphics! They're all really affordable! The shop owner is super nice. He'll even make the decal bigger if you want to, just message him. And he does custom ones. I had him make my Luke's decal bigger so it'd look better on my car and he also made a custom decal for me as a Christmas gift for my husband! 😊 8y

Ugggh I just came across an article with someone else ( a woman) bashing YA and Women's fiction. I love my chick lit as much as my lit fiction.
