It describes what was happening in 1920‘s with interracial relations, society integration and genre position. After Clare ‘s father died, she moved with some relatives, and passed as a white woman hiding her childhood living in poverty in a dysfunctional home. She married for ambition with white man that “hates” black people not knowing that Clare had black heritage. Clare will reunite with an old childhood friend, Irene.⬇️
2nd book in the series. I expected more from this book but in general I liked it not loved it. DeMarco will take some leave with Jayme. He is still managing what happened in the first book (no spoiler) and is considering retirement. But during this leave, he is asked to resolved a cold case: 7 young girls were murdered one each year, only their bones were found and the apparently responsible wasn‘t incarcerated or maybe was someone else. ⬇️
Second book in this series. We are going to know more about some characters specifically about Ronan. There are some funny parts between Noah and Blue and Gansey and Blue and Maura and The Gray Man. That Calla can be so direct, no filter when she speaks😂and there are other situations regarding of what Gansey is looking for. However, an unpopular opinion, I found some repetitive parts with this character Kavinsky and the cars🙄3.5/3.8⭐️
Three women decided to share their talents in this bookshop in California. The novel is about the lives of these women: Mikki, divorced, Ashley wants to marry but it seems her boyfriend has other plans and Bree who doesn‘t believe in permanent relationships. There will be drama to resolve all these family, couple, trauma issues, with support. There are some funny parts. It was okey but I liked it in general. Mikki‘s mother made me laughed. 3⭐️⬇️
I‘m always late but this is the first book read during #AwesomeAugust Readathon @Andrew65
Mixed feelings with this novel. Alice married John without knowing him well and moved with him to Tangier, a convenient marriage for John. But Alice is not adapting well to this new life. Then a supposedly friend, uninvited, arrived to visit Alice. Something happened between Alice and Lucy when they were in college. Lucy seems obsessed with Alice⬇️
I love a story well-told from multiple points of view. In this one we meet a Parisian suburb community of au pairs and their families in 2016. Reading the description I expected a mystery surrounding the death of a child, but I‘d say the mystery takes a backseat to the tales of the women connected to the tragedy. I was entertained from beginning to end.

Reading it was my first goal for the #AwesomeAugust Readathon!
I started the #AwesomeAugust #Readathon, late so I guess it‘s only appropriate that I wrap up late too. My goals were:
✅ read The Caretakers - 334 pages
❌ read to Chapter 19 of Gerald‘s Game - 28 pages
✏️ 362/444 pages
Thank you @Andrew65 !
Better late than never: I finished four books for the #AwesomeAugust readathon. That got me a #BookSpinBingo! Thanks to @Andrew65 for hosting.
