I'm sad because I've now read all of the novels of Jonathan Tropper, and will have to wait for him to write new ones. That's not a bad problem to have though, especially after reading this one, which might very well be his best.

Day 214.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can‘t decide if Silver‘s life is more comic or tragic. He‘s honestly a bit of a disaster. At just 44, and probably dying, he isn‘t quite suicidal, but not exactly rushing to save himself. Dysfunctional family drama might be exactly what he needs. Sometimes life just doesn‘t turn out how you imagined.
Two days in a row of reading on the dock while the kids splash in the (absolutely frigid) lake. I could get used to this. 😎
🎧🧩 New puzzle, new audiobook.

Another #PayItForward giveaway.
I only ask that at some point you return the favor and either pass this book on to another reader, or a book from your own shelves.
US residents only please. Comment below if you'd like it.
My #bookspin was a wonderful read. Trooper writes believable characters who make mistakes and are just trying to figure out day to day how to makeup for those mistakes.
This book is emotional, but also witty. It deals with love, loss, and finding your way back to the people you love when you feel like all hope is lost.

Jonathan Tropper has become one of my favorite authors. I love his style — so witty and humorous, and he manages to capture family dynamics perfectly. This was probably not my favorite of his, but still a gem. 💎
I've really liked everything I've read of Tropper's . . . until this one. For the bulk of this one, I was disappointed. Really close to the end, it started getting funny . . . until the very end, when it fell on its rump again. Sigh. I'll appreciate the chuckles I got. I guess I can't expect him to hit it out of the park every single time. 😉
After working outside a few hours, I think I‘ve earned a little reading break. 📖
Next up! Thought maybe I‘d warm up the ol‘ Kindle this time! This one‘s been sitting in my TBR for a while. Going in a lighter direction after the last two. (Rising Strong, Brene Brown and This is How, Augusten Burroughs)
Hotel reading before meetings start here in São Paulo tomorrow. I loved This is Where I Leave You. Hope this is as good.
One of my favorite Littens is celebrating a milestone with a #giveaway ‼️ @Lizpixie has reached 1000 followers🎉🎉🎉tag her with a post showing an author who makes you smile & you could win some awesome books! #1000PixieDust ✨✨✨Congrats, Liz💖💖💖
I don't find myself reading male authors very often, but always enjoy Tropper. His characters are real and sad and funny and human. Just how I like people in real life.
Just picked this up at a new-to-us library branch! Luckily hubs is home this weekend and I can find some quiet time.
I enjoyed "This is Where I Leave You" so I thought I'd give this one a listen. Trooper is good at lovable but unlike-able characters. LOL funny at times. #audiobook
#TBRtemptation post 7! Drew Silver. Life's passing by. Drummer for a 1-hit rock band. Divorced, & his ex is marrying a great guy. Father whose Princeton-bound daughter confesses to him she's pregnant--he's the least to worry about letting down. And he finds out he needs emergency heart surgery or he'll die. He chooses against surgery & to be a better father with his little time left. Is his own life worth saving? #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
There were some funny parts, some really sad parts, some depressing parts. Overall I just felt kind of eh about this book. I think I need to try This is Where I Leave You - heard it was better than this novel.
After a 3 hour lock down with my 25 kinders because a guy was running around the neighborhood stabbing people...I need this unicorn frappuchino, my sweet puppies and my book!! #teachersoflitsy #isthisdayoveryet
Decided to pick this up after reading This Is Where I Leave You.... and I have to say, this one was not my favorite. I didn't like Silver's character and not just because he is "unlikeable". The whole concept of this story was exhausting. But there is no denying Jonathan Trooper is an amazing writer!

Jonathan Trooper is amazing but the narrators voice is bothering me for some reason... so far so good! Chapter 29/81
In typical Tropper fashion, you'll laugh! you'll cry! He does a really good job connecting with his audience. This book is one of his best.
#Recommendsday I flat-out lived this book! There's something about Jonathan Tropper's writing that just slays me. It's not flashy. But it's so real! All his books make me feel like I know and care deeply about these people. People are flawed, but there is so much care and heart involved that you fall in love with them anyways. I will read anything that he writes. All the laughter and tears. All the hearts, all the stars.
Morning drinking. Coffee. All the coffee! #somethingforsept Book+Drink
Well, halfway through this book and halfway through with How The Soldier Repairs The Gramaphone. Would like to have read more, put life gets in the way. There's still tomorrow! #biblioweekend
Out hiking while on our camping trip and found a Little Library in the woods! My two favourite things combined! We even made a trade.
A great day for reading at the beach.
My first beach day of the year tomorrow and I'm trying to decide which books to take with me!
