For our October book club is doing a Halloween or scary type book. I don‘t do scary! What are some recommendations to fit this theme?

What a fascinating book about the copper king, W.H. Clark and his daughter who inherits his millions. She only@passed away a few years ago.
I got this book thinking I would add it to my daughter‘s history curriculum since the setting was during WW2. It was not at all what I expected. While it is set in WW2 the plot is not focused on the war but on Ada and her life with a club foot. What an amazing story. So beautiful. I highly recommend.
I tried reading this several months back, but I could not get into it. I am glad it was chosen for our book club for next month. It was a wonderful story! I didn‘t want it to end. I even had a few tears.
I have not had a book that I could not put down nor wait to read again in a good while. This book had me hooked from the beginning. I didn‘t want to put it down and when I did, I could not wait to get back to it again. So good. So sad. Loved it.
This was a great book! I have never read anything by this author. So many twists and turns. I really enjoyed reading this. I will be looking for more by this author.
Wow!!! I‘m speechless. @wen4blu you have out done yourself!!! I absolutely love everything!! I LOVE😍😍 the first edition of Endurance. That is my first edition ever!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. Happy Valentine‘s Day.

I didn‘t know much about the Romanov‘s before reading this book. Such a tragedy. If only the Tsar had been a better leader, he could have saved his families life along with thousand of other Russians. I love learning about history through living books.
It‘s on its way up north!! Should be there Saturday!! #cupidgoespostal @MrBook @Avanders @BookishMarginalia @BookBabe #valentinebookexchange
This took less than an hour to read. What a great story! The ending was surprising. I‘m interested to know what short stories do you like? I also read the Monkey‘s Paw with my son last year for his English class. That was great. Comment below your favorite short stories. I would love to read them.
My son read this in his 8th grade English class. He liked it and thought I would too. So I‘m going to read it real fast before he has to turn it back in.
I love historical fiction. I love learning history through literature. This was a young adult book but I really enjoyed it. I didn‘t want it to end. I wanted to know what became of her later in life.
I did not see that ending coming. This was an easy read and I enjoyed it.

My last read of 2017. What an amazing story. I love Kate Morton‘s writing. This was the first book I have read of hers and it will not be the last.
Oh my! Where do I start? I know many loved this book but it drove me crazy!! I can‘t stand Mrs. Richardson. Rich, snot, better than everyone else, doesn‘t give her youngest daughter the time of day. Drove me insane!!!😖 There were other things I did not like. So I can‘t pick one of the rates. I need one that says irritating!!

Now on to one of my secret Santa books from October.
Finished this one this morning as well. Wanted to finish so I could see the movie. Definitely didn‘t see this ending coming! Looking forward to seeing the movie.
Finished this book on the way to see family. Such an amazing story of the lives and struggles of the girls who worked in the radium factory. They didn‘t know the risks of radium. The horrors these girls suffered and the struggle to get the company to admit they were poisoned by the radium. Highly recommend.
This is my daughters haul from Goodwill today. Did she ever score!!! Anything about horses and she is in wonderland!!
I need a little help. I don‘t read graphic novels. What do you recommend for a girl age 11-12?

@Mccall0113 can you give me a few titles that your daughter would like to read.
My leisure reading will be on the back burner for a while. I am now embarking on my next career as a medical transcriptionist!
