pickI‘m not sure how I have never read this delightful short story, but I‘m glad I have now! Is it a bit ridiculous? Sure. That doesn‘t stop it from being a fun little look at civility and savagery. That‘s right, I said “and” and not “versus.” 😂☺️ Rainsford is washed ashore on an island with a host who is interested in hunting the most dangerous game. What could he mean? The first story I thought of was this, where the predator is a human and he goes hunting on his island for HUMANS, those shipwrecked, with little chance of escape.
Read it in English class back ten years and can still recall the sensation it impressed upon me.

My son read this in his 8th grade English class. He liked it and thought I would too. So I‘m going to read it real fast before he has to turn it back in.
