This has been on my TBR for years!
Starting this one tonight, which apparently is book 1 in a series. It‘s been sitting on my TBR shelf for quite some time! If I like it, I‘ll be ordering the rest of the series 😊
This book has been on my bookshelf for so long and I had been wanting to read it but got onto another book. I can‘t believe it took me so long to start this series. I loved it! Definitely one of my favorite books. I loved Erika Foster and I can‘t wait to read the rest of the series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
I‘ve only read the first book in this series but I own at least 3 more... I have several of these.... I should never run out of books to read!
I liked the first book! #Top20series #20series20days
📚LET'S PROMOTE READING AND OUR LOVE OF BOOKS!📚
I accepted this challenge to post the covers of books that I love for 10 days. No explanation. No criticism or reviews. Just the covers. Each day, I am going to ask a friend to take up the challenge (only if you want to). Day 5

Day 12 - #snowicesetting #DearDecember
This book is the beginning of a great series. A real favorite!
I love this series sooo much! Robert Bryndza is an amazing writer and I absolutely cannot get enough of Erika Foster. She is a strong and independent, yet vulnerable woman. I relate to her on a level beyond words. #bookworm #erikafoster #robertbryndza #thegirlintheice #thesuspenseisthrillingme
I'm always searching for the next great murder mystery/serial series. This book was quite intriguing, and kept me very engaged. I didn't feel it was too scary, though it wasn't boring either. I also feel like this would be the perfect winter horror read, because it's based in the dead of winter.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good thriller...
📚📚Happy Reading!📚📚
Well, the #24in48readathon has officially come to a close. I only read for one day this time so I only got to finish 1 book (though I‘m SO close to finishing my audiobook too) and I gotta day, 14 hours and 40 minutes isn‘t too shabby a time considering I spent yesterday crafting with the girls! I can‘t wait for the next #24in48!
After not doing any reading yesterday, I think I‘m still doing pretty good. Just hit the 12 hour mark so I can at least say I made it over 12 hours in a 24 hour period 😁 #24in48 #24in48readathon
It‘s that time again folks. Time for the summer 24 in 48 Readathon. Since I‘m having a craft day with the girls tomorrow, I don‘t think I‘ll get through too many books so here is the stack I‘m hoping to accomplish. Starting things off with The Girl in the Ice! #24in48 #24in48readathon
So objectively this was not a good book. In fact it was prett bad - as a thriller the attempts to create intrigue were transparent and as a police procedural it really needed police who followed some sort of procedure. And yet.... I stayed up late to finish it and really liked the characters. I‘d probably give another of the series a go if only to check in and see how they get on !
The covers to this series are really eye catching, & I was looking forward to reading them, but after this one I have changed my mind.
The characters were more like moody teenagers than adults, police officers to boot. Basic errors & ‘shake your head‘ moments such as attempting to question a potential witness in a pub where anyone could overhear are frankly ridiculous. 2⭐️
This is a well played out mystery that will keep you guessing till the end.

Kate was tasked with tracking down a vicious serial killer, until he found her.
Kate lives a quiet life on the English coast. One day she receives a letter from someone in her past, she is pulled back into the twisted mind of a murderer she knows only too well - and into a case only she can solve. Twists, turns and a shocking ending, NINE ELMS is unputdownable.
NINE ELMS is now available to pre-order, and is set to be released 5th November 2019.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very good thriller that I could not put down! Definitely recommend for anyone who loves a good “who-done-it”

First lesson of life in the establishment: keep your mouth shut. Or someone will shut it for you, permanently.
So good! I couldn't put it down. Erika Foster has nothing to lose because she's already lost it all and her drive for justice makes for a gripping story.
I‘m in a detective novel mood right now. Enjoying this one.
#WinterWonderland Found this title yesterday while going through the #BookBargain section of #BookDepository
This title caught my eye; a woman is found #Frozen in a sheet of ice in a London park. Her hands are bound, similarly 3 prostitutes have all been discovered in the same manner, strangled, bound & #frozen.
Excellent mystery. Did not anticipate the ending. Really enjoyed the main character DCI Foster.
Saw this on Amazon only 99p....would be rude not to download it...!
The Girl In The Ice is a gripping read with many 'where is this going?' moments. Foster leads a zealous murder investigation to find out the truth. She's not a likeable character; brash, rude & unrelenting but she is about getting the job done right! I was gripped by the good pace which shows the frustration of an investigation slipping away.

It is another rather warm day so I'm starting a book that promises to chill you to the bone. A body found in the ice turns out to be a socialite but how does she link to the deaths of 3 prostitutes? DCI Erika Foster must uncover the truth before the killer can close in

When the body of a woman was discovered beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, she appeared to be a beautiful young socialite with a #perfectlife . Investigations led by Detective Erika Foster revealed a connection between the victim and the killings of three prostitutes, all found strangled, hands bound and dumped in water.
Sounds like a good crime thriller with good reviews on GR. Stacked! 😊
#getmovin
#TheGirlInTheIce is a fast-paced mystery featuring Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster, a brilliant cop who takes risks that don't always pay off. A second installment from #RobertBryndza is forthcoming.⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks to #NetGalley for an Advance Reader's Copy. #NetGalleyTBRAttack
I rarely read thrillers anymore but I heave heard good things about this title and may give it a whirl😀
#ThrillerThursday @Jess7 #ReadingResolutions
Day Two: #ReadingResolutions photo challenge -#CreepyCharacters I had a hard time picking this morning. There are sooooo many books with creepy characters. I almost picked You by Caroline Kepnes because Joe creeped me out a ton. Felt like I needed 17 showers after reading each chapter. The Girl in the Ice is also a good one too tho!!! Anyone else think this was creepingly good? 😁
🐈Decently paced thriller w/good suspense & intrigue.
🐈MC is gutsy & empathetic towards victims.
🐈Women could‘ve been written more realistically; certain traits show the author is amateur when writing from female perspective.
🐈Lesbian officer w/family who‘s portrayal felt natural & normal.
🐈Decent 1st instalment.
🐈TW: rape, animal & physical abuse, ableist language, racist commentary towards Eastern Europeans, mildly sexist comments.
🐈3.5/5
New book and an afternoon snack! Chilled Chile Con Queso with Avocado from Lisa Fain‘s Queso cookbook. Yep, that‘s cottage cheese and it is yum!

An interesting read but the main character is all over the place and so cliché. The ending was a surprise so that was appreciated. The police investigation was also not so well written and oftentimes not credible. Overall, a fairly good debut.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally finished! It wasn't the book by any means. The book was really good! I was busier than normal over the past 2 weeks and have been in a little reading slump. I will definitely read more of the books in this series. 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ 4.5/5 🌟
Finally! I haven't been able to read all weekend because of wedding festivities in northern Michigan all weekend. 5 hour drive home and I hope I can put a good dent in this book. I've liked it, just no time! 🤗
Busy day today! Have a short break between classes and a client so I'm taking advantage of it! 😋📚
I nearly ran out of time to read this as it was due back at the library so did speed a little to the end. It was a good read though. Erika is not your typical detective, she's been through a lot and isn't quite through it all yet. We see her make mistakes and develop as a character as the book goes on. I did suss out who was behind it but not right away which was good.
Sharing this fun challenge for @Jess7 . Hope lots of you take part. I'm going to have a go. #AwesomeAutumnBooks
Tried this one awhile back and couldn't get into it. Debating trying again but when I saw it was due at the library, I was happy to give it back. Just couldn't get into it. Part of the reason was the English/ British spelling. I'm a stickler for spelling and seeing words like "kerb" instead of "curb" was bugging me. #cantwinthemall
Apparently I really like books about women in some sort of forms of water which I never noticed before 😄 #ice ❄️ #rain ☔️ #jubilantjuly #sizzlinsummerbooks
⭐⭐⭐ Demasiado previsível, com falta de inovação que surpreenda. Personagens estereotipados...
