After 17 wonderful years we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl, Maya. My daughter was 2 y.o when we brought Maya home from the shelter. She claimed Maya as hers and they were inseparable until she started college. Even then, I had to send daily pics to her. Small blessing was that my daughter is still on break so she was with her at the end. 💖🐶🪽

This week we lost the sweetest reading companion in the world. My pup Ollie was 12 and a half. We lost him quickly and unexpectedly, and our hearts are broken. There was no better dog in the world. He was such a special part of our family. 🐾 💙

The Best Dog of All

Loving and loyal,
A friend through and through,
How in the world can I
live life without you?

I‘ve known you since you
Were just a scrappy little pup.
Fighting to survive,
And you never gave up.

I watched you grow into a
beautiful canine friend.
Back in those days,
I could not imagine this end.

But now it is all over,
And you‘re truly gone.
Somehow I‘ll find a way
To try to carry on.

I read this recently to my favorite 4 year old, she was mesmerized. So was I.

It is with great sadness that I say Scooter was put down today. The vets couldn‘t figure out what was wrong, but they think he had some form of cancer. Everything we tried didn‘t help him and he was to the point of being forced fed. Although my heart is breaking, at least Scootie is in a better place and is no longer suffering. 💔😭💔

The emergency vet office that treated Pilot for his strokes sent me this, full of condolence messages from the staff that worked with my boy. It‘s a beautiful book, with sweet illustrations and a heartwarming story, but now I can‘t. stop. crying. 😭😭

so, I have a major sad for today's photo prompt. My mother in law just called to tell us they had to have one of their fur-babies put down today. She was fourteen and the sweetest dog I've ever met in my life. She will be sorely missed, but all dogs go to #heaven right? #rockinmay @Cinfhen

Cynthia Rylant is an amazing author and illustrator. Dog Heaven, which is a RF, only took her one hour to complete the whole book! I couldn't believe that, I fell in love with this book.
