I loved this, but I didn't enjoy it!!! Oxymoron!? Yes, but hear me out - Keegan's writing is amazing, it brings back the very smell of my granny's kitchen! However, most of these short stories were super unsettling and uncomfortable to read ... So I loved it, but I didn't like it 🤷

Happy Sunday! Storm Kathleen is still battering at my door here in N Ireland, but I'm snuggled up with books and coffee ☕☕☕ I just finished The Thursday Murder Club and it was fantastic!!! I picked it out of the book box in the village where I live ages ago and put off reading it as I thought it would be too 'cosy' crime for- but I loved it! It was so funny and sad and bittersweet and it has me guessing until the end! Loved it!💗

This was a super YA feminist retelling of the HadesXPersephone myth- one of the better ones I have read. I love how it dealt with how young boys and men are negatively impacted by toxic masculinity and a patriarchal society- a really refreshing portrayal of Hades! 💀💗💐🪷Also, the stunning cover inspired my nails 😍

I was a little disappointed with 'Bride' but it's not really the book...I just don't think I'm a werewolf/vampire person .... I never went through the 'Twilight' phase. It was well written and quite funny at times... Just not for me 🤷 I'm off to eat this chocolate bunny, drink tea and read! Have a fabulous Easter Sunday 💖

This was so good 💚🐍🐦‍⬛ I loved The Hunger Games trilogy and was worried that I wouldn't like this and it would ruin it for me, but it actually enhanced the story so much that I need to go back and read the trilogy again! Seeing Coriolanus Snow become President Snow was so clever and this book really deepened his character. I'll be thinking about this book for awhile!

I have such a soft spot for Katee Robert 💖 This was spicy 🔥, although a little more focused on the politics of the overarching plot, than the main relationships, but it was actually good to see how the story is moving on.... Can't wait for the next one ❤️

I mean.... I'm not sure what to say.... For most of it I was feeling my usual SJM frustrations.... Please stop 'huffing laughter' and 'baring' teeth at each other!!! Also, come on Bloomsbury, I found 3 spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes!!! However, as always, the last 200 pages were epic... It was all worth it in the end and I will be dreaming about these characters for the foreseeable 🔥❤️🤩✨🌟🕳️☄️🌠🌌🪐

Ruthiella I love it when I love a book (or series) despite the annoying aspects of it! What strange magic is this? 3mo

Massive day of strikes here in N Ireland! It was great to see people uniting to support one another, and it was also great to have a little time to curl up with this fantastic book! I highly recommend it; probably best for ages 10- 14. However, really anyone could enjoy it. Curled up in bed with Corey to finish this one. I flew through this, it was a pacey read that definitely kept me gripped. The context of Nigeria was central and was so interesting, as was the idea of mob mentality and the why did it happen, as opposed to whodunnit. I felt the narrative style was a bit jarring at times and because it was fast paced there were elements that felt under developed. However, I will def read the next one in the series.

This was not what I expected, I thought it was going to be a typical, comfortable whodunnit, but what it really was, was hilariously, darkly witty. Tension and suspense were combined with astute and beautifully crafted domestic observations- it was such a good read! A real surprising wee find- it is a rerelease of a Faber classic; it was Waterstones Book of the Month in July, and that's what made me pick it up, and I'm so glad I did!!!

Excellent! I love this series and this was possibly the best yet! It is so much more than a murder mystery or whodunnit .... it made laugh out loud and even managed to make me feel quite tearful at certain moments. There is definitely a complicated underlying discussion on feminism and the way it impacts all relationships- it is subtly sewn into the characters and plot. There is just so much to enjoy and digest her- loved it 🧡👍
