This was about so much more than what I was expecting (Wonder Woman and Feminism). Family drama, Lovecraft style. I was really into the first half of this book. It was gripping and turning into a wild horror- mystery, but it shifted gears halfway and the least interesting character became the focus.

This look at haunted places in America is more cultural history than spooky ghost story, but it's still going to haunt you. Really well researched and well written, America is filled with ghosts.

Just finished this and it's a dang gem, taking shots at the mysoginistic superhero genre.

I wish I was more into this. Anyone else feel like reading this is/was a slog or am I the odd one out? (Pibb thought I was reading about peanut butter, which he refers to as "The Power", that's why he looks so focused)

This book is up your alley if you enjoy learning about Early surgical practices and are not squeamish. Lindsey Fitzharris doesn't hold back the gore and gruesome spectacle seen in Victorian era operating theaters. This is a well reseaeched, well written, fascinating read!

What a fun and silly read! What a zany cast of characters. So much is going on on every page, kids and adults will be entertained. This one is a keeper.

I'm a sucker for a book about family secrets, and this one filled with 'em. It spans 60 years in the lives of two sisters who came to Boston from Ireland, started their lives and families, tormented by secrets they keep from each other. So many secrets!!! It's the beautiful way these secrets come to light that makes this book such a great read.

This collection of stories is pure poetry. I'm so glad this was published, I only wish I had discovered Kathleen Collins sooner. Now I want to read/see everything she had done before her untimely death 😔

This one got me right in the feels. Sweet, sweet sweatband wearing, mischievous pug and the little boy he loves (and loves him right back). Chloe Inkpen's illustations are so great, they really convey the oft worried look of a pug. #puglife

I LOOOOOOVE Plummie, and now she has a cat friend, who steals the spotlight. This is a sweet story about learning how to share and deal with jealousy, and Emma Chichester Clark's illustrations are so good. Plus i always think Plum looks like my Pibb so... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
