Just enjoyed a full-throttle monsoon storm up in Pine, AZ. Temps dropped from 95º to 66º in 10 minutes. #heaven

Happily crunching
on pine needles in the rain.
What a perfect day.

A friend recommended this after we had some deaths in my family. I enjoyed the perspective of the afterlife from a near-death experience of a neurosurgeon including his own doubts and scientific frame of reference.

Sometimes, Phoenix, I actually like you. Even when the power went out, it was cool enough tonight to be able to handle it.

TEArificbooks I have hot wind and dust in the air. Early May though it rained measurably for four days in a row and we had the wettest May ever for our area. It didn‘t rain again though and in total we got less than inch in the four days. 1mo
AmyG Oh wow! 1mo
dabbe @TEArificbooks Oh, I feel your pain! We're in for that soon as well. Today was just a #wtf kind of day in all the best ways possible. Where do you live? 1mo

dabbe @TheBookHippie Oh, no! What is it with the Michigan weather? My SIL lives in Port Huron, and she just texted and said it was 43F there. Holy shit. I'm saying a prayer to Mother Nature that your garden hangs in there. 💚💚💚 1mo

I‘ve put off reading this book for years. This copy was given to me by someone who said she buys this book at secondhand stores whenever she sees it and hands it out to people to read. I couldn‘t say no upon hearing that. I‘m glad I finally read it as distressing as the murder at the beginning is. It‘s really a book about grief and families. A really good read.

Oh this was sweet.
I needed something light and whilst the subject matter seems full of sadness, it's actually really uplifting and has a sense of happiness and love.
A truly cute little story that offers a different perspective on death.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘ve read this book before, but it has been at least 15 years, so it was good to go into it with fresh eyes.
I think Lewis most shines in this one when he is describing the nuances of different types of love, pity, creating, etc.
It was especially interesting to read this book with my study group after reading a more modern view on Hell & the afterlife. Lots of good thoughts & good conversations.

behudd @TheAromaofBooks forgot to say - this was my May #bookspin book! 1mo

For years now, we‘ve zoomed past McKay‘s on our way back home from our new home 7 hours away. But today, TODAY, I finally got to stop in for just a quick minute. It. Is. EVERYTHING!!! I want heaven to be just like this but with good coffee and dogs running everywhere. Utter perfection 🤗🤓

underground_bks McKay‘s Chattanooga was my childhood bookstore! Now I own my own but we always stop for any McKay‘s location! 2mo
Erinreadsthebooks @underground_bks That‘s awesome! I just gave your bookstore a follow on Instagram. It‘s so cool! 😎 ❤️ 2mo
Soubhiville I love McKay‘s! I used to go to the Knoxville one all the time. 2mo

My next read is another re-read. I think I have a pretty good memory of this one, but we'll see! (Don't mind my phone charger in the way of the picture) #BookElevenOf2025
