I got it! The elusive copy of Fourth Wing w/ painted edges. I heard only the first run of the book will have the edges & restocks will now be plain. I guess that would've been what I deserved for sleeping on the biggest book of the year...

It's true crime reading time 🔪🩸 This month #truecrimebookclub is reading Mindhunter. I've already read that one, but it's encouraged me to finally pick this one up! I've had it on the TBR for a very long time📚 I'm thankful for another beautiful day so I can read in my new favorite spot! ☀️

#shelfiesunday Happy Mother's day everyone! These skull bookends are one of the gifts my boys got me. I think it's safe to say you're a bit of a weirdo when this is what your kids think of when they think of you 😂 I absolutely love them though and they're perfect for my gothic/Edgar Allen Poe themed library.

After a very long day of LOTS of yard work and finally landscaping the front yard, I think it's time to relax with a new book and glass of beer. I'm really looking forward to this series. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype! 🤞

This is only my 2nd time annotating a book, but it might become an addiction! I absolutely cannot bring myself to highlight or write directly in a book, so I have to confine all commentary to the size of my note tabs 😂 I've also only annotated romance books so far because, honestly, it's just more fun to take notes on all the spice 🌶️😉 That's why I'm loving the annotating tabs and review pages that come with @probablysmutbookclub each month!
There's really no practically about it... It just is what it is. This one is about a 1.5⭐ on the actual plot, but 5🌶️ for the spice 🤣🤣🤣 #plotwhatplot #smutreadersofinstagram #readwhateveryouwant
Latest #bookhaul ?? The bottom two were from my most recent trip to B&N and the top 2 were books that I passed up when I was there, but then changed my mind and ordered them ?? Then, I bought Gory Details in preparation for the June botm for #truecrimebookclub My "good girl" subscription for #probablysmutbookclub should be arriving tomorrow and I can't wait for the unboxing of that!! #bookaddiction #idonthaveaproblemyouhaveaproblem
Finished 18 books this month! That included finishing two series, Vicious Lost Boys and Mindf*ck. It was mostly romance this month, but I also read some mystery/thriller, true crime, YA, and 2 middle grade books with my boys. #romancereader #readwhateveryouwant #goodgirlsreadsmut
Finally finished this one! Not my favorite Ruth Ware book, but certainly not my least favorite either. It was such a struggle to get into it though. It wasn't until about halfway through that this one really picked up, but I wasn't going to give up since this was the last book left to get myself up to date on all of her books released so far. It was worth it in the end but still probably only about a 3.5 ⭐ read.
Just finished the first book of this series, Dangerous Dreams, and it was wild. Not sure how else to describe it. It's dark romance, but pretty different from anything I've read before. There were some intense moments and an interesting backstory that involved a legend. Still not quite sure how I feel about it. It was just so different, but I read it fast and I'm very curious about the next book, Broken Dreams, so I guess that means I liked it.
I'm trying, I'm really trying... I don't know why I keep reading Ruth Ware. Every time I finish one of her books I just feel.. meh. Yet, I continue to keep reading every book she writes, so clearly I don't hate them. In fairness, they're quick, easy reads and generally entertaining. They just tend to be a tad predictable. Honestly though, I am struggling to get into this one. Please tell me, does it pick up at some point? Because really 🥱
Yesterday, was a bit of a day so I really needed some unwinding time at the end of the day. ⬆️ This (or my bathtub) is my go to plan for relaxing🍷📖
Currently reading... I got Broken Dreams from Netgalley, which is technically a standalone, but I didn't realize it is part of a series of standalones (Beautiful Nightmares). So, of course, I feel like I need to read book one, Dangerous Dreams, first. Has anyone else read this series? Thoughts?
Just finished The Coven and it is a solid 4⭐! It's described as fantasy romance, but I felt more of a dark fantasy vibe from this (⚠️ no HEA!)... think Sabrina (new, not old!). It definitely has very dark themes, but if that's your thing then you won't want to miss this. There's some great spice thrown in too! ( A bit lacking for my tastes 😂, but what's there is 🔥) I'll definitely be ordering book 2, The Cursed, when it's available in August!!
Beautiful day to read in the hammock! ☀️📖 Just started The Coven by Harper L. Woods a couple of days ago. This has been a bit of #slowburn but I can tell it's going to get very spicy very soon! 🌶️🥵 So far, I would definitely recommend it, but it is dark romance so check the #triggerwarnings first! #witchvampireromance #touchheranddie #enemiestolovers #darkromance
It's finally warm enough to get back out to my favorite place to read! Perfect timing for my new book to arrive. This seems like it will be the perfect feel-good read!

So, I've been seeing everyone stickering up their kindles and thought it looked fun. Here's the finished product! Can you tell what most of my ebook content is??? 🤦🏻♀️🤣 I typically prefer a physical book, but I tend to stick to ebooks for my smuttier stuff. So these stickers seemed... fitting. (I was going to say appropriate, but that seemed like the wrong word😂😂)
I love my new shirt from NerdVibeDesigns! It pairs well with the book I'm starting today, The Fae Princes! I just started this series a few days ago after hearing about it in my book club and I'm already on to book 4. It's a pretty good twist on the Peter Pan story, but the content... 🔥⚠️ #yesimreadingsmutagain #ireadwhatiwant
These are just a few books from my #apriltbr

Here's the April pick for the #truecrimebookclub . I'm pretty fascinated by cults, so this book looks very interesting. Anyone else joining in for this one?? What book club picks have you read this month? anything you're really looking forward to for next month?
#bookclubsofinstagram #bookclubreads
The April picks for 2 of my bookclubs arrived yesterday! This is the first one for #probablysmutbookclub , One Look by Lena Hendrix. I've never read anything by Lena Hendrix, but her books have been highly recommended so I'm looking forward to this. #nflromance #sportsromance #smalltownromance #bossemployeeromance #singledadromance

I'll share my April book for #truecrimebookclub tomorrow!
*Wrong book tagged, not in Litsy library
I'm really enjoying my #currentread 📚. I may even like it better than the first book so far. Unfortunately, I've been a bit too busy to get in much reading lately, but hopefully, I can find some time today. What is everyone reading right now? Anything new that you've absolutely loved? #readingrecommendations
Sitting at my kids' homeschool co-op reading while they're in classes and thought I'd post a quick reading update. After reading 8 nonfiction books in preparation for my trip to New Orleans I'm in need of something lighter. So it's good timing for my newest arrival, Immortality. It's the sequel to Anatomy which I loved so I'm really excited to read this. Maybe not the light, fluffy read I was looking for, but now that I have it I want to read it.
I have been fighting a cold for a week now, so it's time for a nice, healing bath. Also a great time to get started on the next books in my #neworleans #tbr for my upcoming trip to #nola . I've already read books on Voodoo, Marie Laveau, and Madame Lalaurie. Next up are The Awakening, The Axeman, and Nine Lives. Any votes for which one I should start with??? #readinginthebath #bathtimereading
Two books down and they covered a lot of spots in #holidayromancebingo but no bingo yet! Moving on to book # 3, A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale.
#christmasromance #christmasreading
Getting started on my Advent buddy reads! Every year I choose one book to read w/ my mom and sister and one to read w/ my mother-in-law and sister-in-law during Advent. This year I'm going with two cozy mysteries, so I hope I don't confuse the stories 😂😂 #adventbuddyread #christmasbuddyread #countdowntochristmas #christmasreading
Another holiday hold is ready to read just in time for #holidayromancebingo !!! I'm not a big audiobook person, but the wait is so long on some of these books that I'll take what I can get. #holidaybooks #tistheseason
The tree was up for less than 10 minutes and he already remembered his favorite holiday napping spot🎄😻
#christmascat #tistheseason #puttingupdecorations
Pausing for a much needed coffee break before getting some things in the oven for a wine night I'm hosting tonight. I chose a menu that features some cozy fall foods like baked mac n cheese, beef stew, and s'mores brownies. I think it will be delicious, but it's a lot of baking! #booksandwine #winenight #coffeeandbooks
.
I will definitely be doing this. Looks like so much fun!! 🎄🦌⛄❄️🎅
Thanks for creating this challenge @peanutnine

Just getting in a little reading before we start our school day #homeschooling 🎒🏡 And, yes, I am already reading Christmas books, but in my defense, as of this morning, there was some snow on the ground. So, I think it's officially allowed now ❄️📚

Litsy has not been working for me for months!!!! I didn't think I'd ever be able to get back on... BUT, I got a new phone today and as I'm installing and updating everything I thought, why not try again. And it worked! I'm back!!
I'm very excited to start reading my newest #bookmail !!! Riley Sager's books have become a summer staple for me. So, the arrival of #thehouseacrossthelake yesterday was the perfect way to kick off the official start to summer! ⛱️😎📚

This is my younger son's reading space. 📚💕📚 #readingspace #cozyingupwithabook
Another reading space I set up in the new house! I am loving all the cozy little spaces I'm finding ways to add to our new home. I'll share the reading spaces I made for my boys' rooms next. #readingspace #readingcorner #cozyingupwithabook
June pick # 2 for #truecrimebookclub Got lucky and managed to get a copy for my library. These thunderstorms rolling through are definitely putting me in the mood to read, so I think I'll take a little break and get started on this one. #truecrime #readingandthunderstorms #readingandrain
Time to get cozy for a bit with the June pick for the True Crime Book Club! #truecrime #lizzieborden #truecrimebookclub #readingcorner
I'm doing a bit more work in the library so I wanted to post a few more pics! #homelibrary #workinprogress #readingroom post 4/4 Corner # 3 Mostly non-fiction: reference, religion, biographies, true crime, etc. Also, has children's and middle grade #truecrime
I'm doing a bit more work in the library so I wanted to post a few more pics! #homelibrary #workinprogress #readingroom post 3/4 Corner # 2 Some classics, My Outlander collection, historic fiction, horror, mysteries/thrillers, and Sci Fi/Fantasy. The secretary belonged to my grandmother and fixing that up is my next project. It has some antique books, tea sets/stuff, and clay projects my boys have made me. #familyheirlooms
I'm doing a bit more work in the library so I wanted to post a few more pics! #homelibrary #workinprogress #readingroom post 2/4 Corner # 1 Mostly YA, also includes my HP collection and some classics.
I'm doing a bit more work in the library so I wanted to post a few more pics! #homelibrary #workinprogress #readingroom post 1/4 The room (note the cats toys on the floor 😂 they're everywhere!) #catsoflitsy
I'm back! It's been a long process building a new house and I've really missed all of my books, but we're in the new house and things are coming along! Still working to finish my new library, but it's getting there. I really don't ever want to move again... Moving all these books was 🥵😫 So happy and grateful to be in our new home though!! ❤️ 🏡❤️ #homelibrary #itsgoodtobeback
My boys read this together recently and loved it. Now, they're insisting I read it too. I have to admit it's pretty good!
Audio books are getting me through this move! Packing is not fun and I'm having a very hard time staying on track. The Aurora Teagarden series is proving to be perfect keeping my mind just busy enough so I don't keep getting sidetracked, but still focus on what I need to get done. #audiobooksforthewin
Next up in the #villiansseries! Cold Hearted is the story of Cinderella's wicked stepmother and stepsisters. I have been looking forward to this one, so I have high expectations! I just started and so far so good, but we'll see. I am glad to Nanny back though!
#currentlyreading
Finally got around to reading Evil Thing (Books 7 of the #villiansseries ). Cruella has never really been a villain that's interested me much so it took me awhile to get around to reading this. I was actually very surprised by how much I like this book. It wasn't my favorite of the series, but I think Valentino did a really good job of coming up with an interesting backstory for Cruella De Vil. 3⭐, better than expected!
Finished My Calamity Jane (3⭐, not bad but definitely my least favorite of the series). Now I'm moving on to this one!
