I love that this was a slow burn because it highlighted both Maribel and Wesley's anxiety's, their dreams, wants, and they were able to communicate them and to each other which added to the overall cuteness of this book for me.

Plus the dialogue was really good between them, even the arguments, were not just valid but helped push the storyline and had them opening up and figuring out a lot together.

I loved this nearly as much as I did the (tagged) previous book. The Bergman family is fantastic! Ren js a pro hockey player who is secretly in love with Frankie, the team‘s social media manager. She is on the autism spectrum and doesn‘t pick up on the clues that he is into her. Ren is gentlemanly, respectful, and obsessed with Shakespeare. I adore him! A little steamy for my taste (usually) but I love this family so much that I didn‘t even care.

intothehallofbooks I normally never read series books back-to-back, but all I want to do is inhale these books. They‘re so fun and scrumptious! 2mo

One of my favorite Zapata books. The only one I like better is The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. Great plot and characters. Fabulous prose and that slow burn to die for me. I wish every book I read gave all the feels like this. 5⭐️ all year long!

Another great slow-burn, second-chance romance by Mariana Zapata.

I love Zapata and will read every book she writes. That said, this is not her best work. I liked it, but it didn't have that extra special spark that I have come to expect from her. It is in the 3.5 to 4 ⭐️ range for me.

I love how this author writes characters. This was about as much as I get into football these days. 😂

(longer explanation in the comments 👇🏻. Short version is this:) I wanted to try New Adult for a while. So I gave this m/m-college-sports-romance a go. Good points: I liked the setting and the dynamics. Bad points: The language felt overly cheesy at times and the sex scenes were quite unrealistic. But nonetheless, I am glad that I read it. Soft pick.

yourfavouritemixtape Last month I needed something light and for the heart. Usually in these moments I grab a romance novel that‘s getting a lot of attention in that moment. Usually I end up rolling my eyes, not being totally satisfied. I have a hard time with romance, as I get easily annoyed by stereotypes. In my teenage years I read tons of m/m romance as it works better for me with the usual couple-dynamics. And there are less stereotypes. 3mo
yourfavouritemixtape So while this isn‘t the best book I‘ve read, I am really glad I found this „genre“ for me again. The next time I need something like this, I know exatctly where to head 🙂 3mo
