You read something and it makes you think about your young adult life transitioning out of high school and the friendships you make in life at that time. This book did this. How as young adults we “feel” like it‘s the end of the world and when we‘re young we‘re so passionate about life. This book was a journey in that sense but that‘s not only what it was about it‘s also about friends “losing” a friend in a tragic death and the truth comes out.

I was disappointed and this Reese‘s BookClub pick. It‘s a murder mystery at a coastal resort close to where I‘m from. I suppose that‘s what made me want to read this. This was my 1st book for my bookclub that I‘m now officially part of and may I say, this was the best way for me to be initiated.It kept you on the edge of your seat and kept you guessing.It‘s about a couple who moved to a remote town to start their lives over by building their house “from scratch” by themselves on a land where a lady who was hung almost a century ago for what people thought was a witch. It‘s a very emotional story and I can‘t wait until it hits theaters!

This was an amazing read! Set around the 1940‘s in Pennsylvania in a town segregated with Jews and blacks and a Jewish grocery store owner who was the heartbeat of the town and befriended everyone. This story intertwines all characters story lines because there is a lot going on.I love these types of stories. She was mentally abused by her mother in ways, unimaginable! I finished this book “Queenie”, and I really enjoyed it. I had to put it down several times because it depressed me and I didn‘t want to be put in that state of mind. Queenie is a 20ish black woman who was mentally abused as a child. Now as an adult, she appears to not have self worth. There is a bigger picture and a great story line. Got this on a random run to B&N and found this YA as their monthly pick and I have no regrets. The setting is in Louisiana near New Orleans and I can feel and get the vibe and accents of the characters. It‘s spooky and I‘ve gotten a little creeped out like I did in Verity, lol.
