I think I love Emily Henry now.
Such raw real characters!

A 2nd chance romance, a pot of tea, and knowing I'll be the only one awake for hours makes me happy. #happyplace
I still like Book Lovers best but I thoroughly the friendships in this book and watching Harriet and Wyn rebuild both their friendship and their romance made me happy. Side note: EH writes such good men! I wish there were more like Wyn, Charlie, Alex, and Gus IRL.

This book was okay. I liked the friendship in the book. Still a nice Summer read.

Even though I gave this book 5 stars the first time I read it, I didn‘t really remember it with great fondness. But on this reread, I found myself absolutely loving it.
I think these MCs are the ones of Henry‘s that I relate to the most, for good and bad, and I find the heartache that drives this book really beautiful.
The audiobook is excellent, the friendships represented seem realistic - Emily Henry is a master at what she does.
A day late as yesterday was crazy 🤪

Happy Sunday y'all! I started this this last night and read waaay too late because I was loving it! Hoping I have time to finish it today. 🛒🧺🪴🗑👩🍳
A rare Emily Henry miss for me.
Miscommunications abound in this book, while many of them come from a good place, nearly all the unhappiness in both the friendships and romantic relationships could have been avoided with one conversation.
On the other hand, Henry nails building an immersive setting and 3D characters.
I enjoyed this summer read that‘s been on my TBR since it was released. A book of friendship, love, family (born into and chosen) & finding your happiness.
An #AuldLangSpine author from my #ALSpine partner, @KadaGul 🤓 and my July #BookSpin book.

Big fan of Wynn in this novel and Harriet‘s break through with her parents. Reading all of Emily Henry in a summer! This will translate so perfectly on screen. Also another big Julia Whelan fan of her reading!!
With the completion of the tagged book, I‘ve completed my July #BookSpin & #DoubleSpin reads. In fact, I‘ve completed all of them YTD! 🤓
This is the perfect summer read. It was very light and fun. Harriet and Wyn had great chemistry, which was delightful. I liked how it went back and forth between the past to build the story of not only them but the friendships too. This wasn‘t just a romance but actually a love story of friendship. People being there for each other and the messiness of authentic relationships. It wasn‘t complicated, kinda a coming of age story, figuring out life.
I got surprisingly attached to these characters very quickly. I picked this up knowing how much I enjoyed Book Lovers, and then this smacked me in the face with how much better it actually was. I'm off to find Beach Read to see if it holds up. #41-202=
This was a good audiobook!
You have a couple who met in school & were the perfect couple but they have a secret, they broke up 6 months ago.
Now they are going on a week long yearly vacation with their best friends to a cabin that will be sold after they leave. This will take all of their acting ability to keep it a secret.
They‘re both human. Mistakes happen. This one simple lie will test friendships & the perfect couple.

Harriet and her friends are getting together for their yearly summer trip to Maine. It's a bittersweet trip this year though, because Sabrina's family is selling the house they usually stay in, so they all want the week to be perfect. When Harriet arrives, she sees that her ex-fiancé Wyn is there as well. But Harriet hasn't gotten around to telling her friends that she and Wyn broke up.

I stopped by the library yesterday and picked up a bunch of books I'd put on hold- I've been looking forward to reading this one!
This was a much stronger book than Beach Read! I liked the dynamic of the friend group, and I was routing for Wyn and Harriet‘s relationship from the beginning, but it wasn‘t until about halfway through the book I really started caring about the characters. It was a cute read and I appreciated how it touched on depression and how insecurities can pull apart a strong relationship.

I have yet to read a book from this author but these two are in my #TBR & I believe they are both a #2ndChanceRomance 💞
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love how this book straddles the line between women's fiction and romance. The friendships are so well drawn and just as vital as Harriet and Wyn's relationship, and I simply want to live in an Emily Henry setting. #reread #contemporaryromance #womensfiction
This is a great beach read.
Harriet and her found family (2 college friends and their SOs) take their annual trip to a cottage in Maine for a week of reconnecting and learning how to move on in life. I love the friendships in this and how they can be there for each other as their friendship changes and grows.

This was a slow read and just not my favorite by this author. I did love the characters and their relationships though!!
I decided to take a picture of my happy place which is our family farm. One of our mama cows tried to eat my book🤣
Where is your happy place?
I love the feeling when you read a book that‘s seemingly written specifically with you in mind! I picked this one up, & didn‘t put it down until I read the last page! Skipping through past & present, Harriet arrives in ME (an adorable town with a Murder, She Read bookstore!) dreading breaking the news that she‘s no longer engaged to the 6th member of their tightknit group… only to discover her ex already there, forcing them to pretend all is well!
A group of old college friends gather together each summer at the cottage of their affluent friend, Sabrina. This year is different because she has to break the news that her father is selling it so it will be their last summer together. There are some secrets that each of the friends has yet to disclose to group. The tension and support mixed with humor makes this a fun read.
Enjoyed this one! So much more than your average beach-read, romance novel.
“I think, sometimes, we are simply afraid to need. We‘re afraid that if we ask too much, if we bare our tenderest wounds and show our ugliest sides, we‘ll find out that we aren‘t lovable. That we can only keep the ones we love around us as long as we cost them nothing, create no burden. That, at least I think, is the plight of the people pleaser.”
I‘m so glad I gave Emily Henry another chance, this book was wonderful!

Audiobook
Rom-Com with a side of sisterhood. I really liked this - and I'm really becoming an Emily Henry fan. It's definitely full of tropes, but there is also some depth. I'd describe it as the book equivalent of a hug. Comfort reading.
This one looks fun! It‘s still on my tbr shelf 🩷 should I move it up?! 🏖️

Here is another book that is a soft pick for me. I have loved other books by this author but this one not so much. The plot was good though slow. Mainly it was the character development that disappointed me. I read a lot of good reviews on this book and so many loved it. But I recall someone saying the author didn't give them a concrete reason to root for the characters. After reading this book I get that. 3 to 3.5 ⭐️

After canceling my plans due to the cold that will not go away I paused my reading plan and pulled this book of my shelves. I could not have chosen a better consolation prize. I love Emily Henry and spending a few hours tonight reading about a couple pretending to still be together for a vacation away with their old friends, filled with great banter, emotional growth, and the HEA my heart needed was exactly what the doctor ordered.
When this book was chosen for my book club this month, I was not sure I would enjoy it. It‘s not the kind of book I normally read. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up liking everything about it. I quickly became invested in the characters. I loved stepping into their world to watch them work through this time of their lives. I spent the book rooting for them to succeed.
4/5⭐ The author is so good at creating backgrounds and writing emotions that sweep you up in them along with the characters. This book is a moving story not just about romantic love but also found family, friendship, and loving yourself enough to do what makes you happy. #doublespin
The first 300 pages of this book felt boring, meandering, and repetitive. I had a hard time believing the characters were “best friends” because they argued and didn‘t communicate. The last 100 pages were emotionally deep, exciting, and really beautiful. The plot showed up and the characters came to life. Such a mixed bag of a book, in my opinion!
