Here are my two choices for December 2025. I‘ve wanted to read Lady Rose ever since learning that it was a favorite of the Queen Mum‘s. One Afternoon sounds interesting, and this would give me an excuse to buy a copy. 😄

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! I think Littens can definitely agree that we‘re grateful for books. 😃🦃📚
This was a low pick for me. Interesting, but depressing. My favorite character was Miss Spooner, followed by the tiger, who should have eaten Richard while it had the chance. 😏
This isn‘t my copy(I read the ebook), but I certainly prefer the grey Persephone cover over this artwork. The photo depicts tea harvesting in 1945.
#PersephoneClub
Not my favorite Margery Sharp, but fun nonetheless.

Donna, thank you so much for the Ozzy book gift. I haven‘t heard of the tagged book, but I look forward to reading it. And the ruby-red journal is fabulous! (Especially with the text hidden in the lines.) And all just in time for the Wicked movie. 👠🌈🧹
I didn‘t realize you‘d changed your Litsy name, so had missed some of your posts. I‘ll go back and catch up. Thanks again for the thoughtful gift. 😘
I can‘t believe we‘re already choosing books for 2025! Here are my picks for January.
The first is the latest FM book published, and the title of the second is a slight nod to the Wicked movie coming to theaters soon. 😄👠

Happy Halloween to all who celebrate! 🎃👻🍭🍫
A candid shot of @LeahBergen and her book collection. 🤣
Have a fabulous birthday, dear friend! 😘
Mrs. Shinn most certainly wouldn‘t let Zaneeta read this steamy romance novel. Elinor Glyn is probably more my style, but I couldn‘t resist requesting this #ARC based on one of my favorite musicals. I loved finding all the Easter eggs, starting with the MMC‘s name. #NetGalley #ChaucerRabelaisBalzac
I enjoyed this, especially Verily‘s attitude of “just getting on with it.”
I‘m including the “cosy, silvery barrage-balloons” because they reminded me of my mom telling me that she and her girlfriends walked by some every day on their way to school. They each picked one and named it after a movie star; my mom‘s was Humphrey, for Humphrey Bogart. 😄

I‘m so sad about the death of Maggie Smith. It also made me realize I‘d never read this book or seen the movie. I watched the movie last night. I think Maggie was always in her prime, no matter what her age or the role. Just magnificent.
Also coming in just under the wire for #spinsterseptember.
Plus there‘s a tie-in with The Lady of Shalott. #LMMAdjacent @BarbaraJean
Anastasia and I have one big thing in common—we‘re both list makers. With her secret notebook, she reminds me a bit of Harriet the Spy.
#ChildrensClassicRead2024
I have a feeling many Littens will identify with this cartoon. 😆 #notebooks #stationeryaddict
My #September2024 picks for #ReadYourKindle. Box Hill must really want to be read, because the “wheel of reading” picked it again this month. 🤣
* Not see colors (my brother is colorblind, so it doesn‘t seem that bad to me)
* Neither, but if I have to choose, how
* Past
* Passion
* Summer (though I‘d prefer spring)
* Fly

Nicky is having some tummy issues, so I decided to make him his own planner, to keep track of his meds and symptoms. Of course, he had to be completely involved in the process. 😹
Happy International Cat Day to all who celebrate. #catsoflitsy #littenkitten
Isn‘t it nice to know we‘re all gold medalists? 🥇😄
As we know from the movies, sometimes a young lady will never be a nun. I‘m rooting for Hermione and Alphonsus.
I really enjoyed this book and plan to read the sequel. And I would love to taste some of the Shoppe cookies.

As someone whose middle name is Claire, this hits a little too close to home. 🤣
(From TheScribblerCMB on Twitter.)
It looks like the newest Dean St. Press book is available for preorder, at least for Kindle and Kobo. #FurrowedMiddleBrowClub

#5JoysFriday (a day late)
I‘m a bit late, but thanks for tagging me, @DebinHawaii 😸
#5JoysFriday
Yes, KLS, your 200-year-old vampire boyfriend was why I watched! 🤣 (I still have my Josette‘s music box.)
I found it very touching that the author learned about DS from his wife and wanted to honor her with this book.

#5JoysFriday Thanks for the tag, @DebinHawaii 😽
Any Littens with fond memories of Dark Shadows? @UwannaPublishme and I are starting a #buddyread of the tagged book, and we‘d be thrilled to have you join us for our journey back to Collinwood.
We‘re starting today with the Foreword by DS actress Kathryn Leigh Scott and Introduction by the author. A chapter a day after that, but please feel free to jump in at any time. 🦇
#hometoshadows #TheresNoPlaceLikeCollinwood
Am I the only one who thought the introduction comparing this to Agatha Christie was a bit much? I enjoyed it, but felt like I could see what was coming a mile away. It was much more Gothic romance to me than murder mystery. And Cynthia might be the dopiest Gothic heroine I‘ve ever encountered. 😂
#FurrowedMiddleBrowClub
This quote made me think of a story my mom told me, about her aunt having a permanent wave (with one of these machines!) She was so thrilled with it, she couldn‘t stop brushing her hair, until she‘d brushed out all the wave. Maybe that would have worked for Freda.
I enjoyed the book, but all I can say is, not one character was better off for having known Mr. Knight. 😏
#PersephoneClub
I‘m a bit late for #5JoysFriday (and #4 isn‘t true today, although it gives me the joy of an excuse to stay in and read. 😸)
Thanks for the tag, @DebinHawaii 😘
Hoppy Easter to all who celebrate! 🐣🐇🌷
(Neither of these books is in the Litsy database, but the tagged book is part of the Billy Bunny series. 🐰)
I enjoyed this, but like other Littens, I didn‘t really care for the direction the second half took. I loved Mrs. Millard, Margaret, and Miss Smith and her dolls. Val improved once he met Chairley. I thought it was odd that Anna almost completely disappeared from the story, even though her name is in the title.
But I sure didn‘t think Ronnie was the prize all the sisters thought he was. 😏
#FurrowedMiddlebrowClub
I ended up enjoying this, although I got a bit tired of Evelina‘s worshipful letters to her foster father. She was almost too good (and sometimes too naive) to be true . I also found the twist at the end pretty unbelievable.
I loathed Mme DuVal and the Branghtons. Captain Mirval was a jerk, but sometimes funny. Clement was a creep, and Lord Orville was, like Evelina, almost too good to be true. So I guess they were meant to be together. ⬇️
I don‘t know anything about this book except that it involves three favorite Litten authors, Jane Austen, Mrs. Gaskell, and Charlotte Brontë. And it‘s free for #Kindle today. #ebook #kindlefreebie
Happy National Pig Day! Here are a few books from my porcine collection. 🐷
I was gone all day yesterday and came home to find these lovely (and color-coordinated 😁) birthday gifts from @LeahBergen .
The Pangur Ban book is intriguing (the look on that cat‘s face!) And I‘ve been wanting the LMM Short stories for ages. What I love about both these books is that I can just dip in and out of them as the fancy strikes me. ⬇️
Here are my #ReadYourKindle books for February:
12 Selling Hope
14 Mrs. Narwhal‘s Diary
17 The Secret Keeper
18 When Franny Stands Up
I previously said I was going to read #12 first, but I‘ve decided to switch to #18 (the tagged book) instead, in an effort to kill two birds with one stone. 😄 #NetgalleyBacklog
#ReadYourEbooks #ReadYourNook
I don‘t know if I would have picked this book on my own, because the subject matter was so painful. But I absolutely raced through it, and would definitely try other books by this author.
