A couple of books releasing Tuesday. I enjoyed The Once and Future Witches by Harrow. This one sounds good. Also, NF about the Girl Scouts.

I am here for high school students organizing a banned book club. I hope there are more of them out there finding ways to read all the things.

And I finished my 100 voting reminder cards ready for tomorrow‘s designated mailing date. It was my first time. It felt good to spend time doing a positive action rather than scrolling gloom and doom.

Historical fiction of Anne Frank‘s life in Amsterdam to the day they went into hiding. Short and great on audio I was near tears many times. It is impossible not to recognize the parallels from the dehumanizing of Jews at the hands of the Nazi regime to what is happening today in the US at the hands of our current administration.

Here is the book proof for our travel back to Hitler and fascism. I‘m only part way into it but the parallels are there for all to see and understand if you‘d only care enough to open your eyes a bit to the relentless propaganda.

I am bone weary tired of our government‘s lies, evasions, distractions, inhumanity, etc. it is a daily assault on our mental health and well being. However, I will not give up using my voice to denounce them at every opportunity.

Saying I‘m looking forward to reading Virginia‘s book sounds wrong. I think it will be an uncomfortable read but she deserves our attention as do ALL survivors of abuse.

Releasing the 21st is a debut author‘s poetry collection. Some may have seen her poems on IG. I‘ve been leaning into a bit more poetry lately.

I appreciate our Governor‘s response to the federal government wanting to stir up trouble to continue their plan to lead us into chaos. I don‘t live in Portland but it is my city. If there is water to be found I will find it. Ocean, river, waterfall, stream or creek. And if possible my feet will be in it at the very least. I was very fortunate to live right on the Pacific Ocean the year before and during my parent‘s separation and divorce. The ocean and I spent hours together. The ocean held all my tears, all my screams. Water is where I go to process, to heal and for solace.

Tagged book is releasing Tuesday. In our current time where the federal government is doing their best to white wash history this book may be a necessary antidote.

The blurb about the Baillie Gifford prize caught my eye due to Yiyun Li‘s memoir. I read an interview and was so fascinated.

I love seeing the book world ban together to promote children reading. Find ways to help get books in the hands of children.

The tagged book is my first memory of loving a book. I still have my childhood copy. Unfortunately it shows some wear and that I possibly wasn‘t as kind to books as I am now 😢

God, I‘m so tired of being American. Where money, control and power are all that matter. I want to believe in the American dream I was raised with but those in power want that dream only for themselves, to get richer and richer on the backs of the rest of us. The Cheeto even wants to take away today as a holiday because God forbid we aren‘t toiling to make them more money. Sorry my mood is very black today.

Favorite Zen Bookstore. If you have visited the tagged store you might not think it a place of Zen. It‘s huge and always busy. But once I‘m out of the lobby and am roaming the stacks it is heaven. A couple of hours later I finally find my way back to the front with an arm full of treasures.

The b & w pics are the women who have raised us up, my grandmother(right) and stepmom who are intrinsic to who I am and some young women today who I want to support on my shoulders.
