May we will be traveling to Ethiopia. What book will you be reading? Which books would you like to recommend?
#readaroundtheworld
Been thinking a lot about this #aroundtheworld #challenge. Why should I be reading books about the US. What are they reading in Finland? Or Japan? What are their books about everyday life about?
Thank you @knittedgnome for making me think.
Looking for non fiction or based in truth books that take place in the not colored countries. My around the world in books #bulletjournal page is looking pretty sad!

Like @Jerdencon I kept track of where the books I read this year were set. These were the most visited places.
Also visited: the North Pole, Middle Earth, Fairyland, Los Lagos, and various planets.
So this year I kept a list of all the countries and states I read books about. It's not all that surprising to me that the most common ones were England and New York even though I didn't purposely set out to read about specific places. Might do it again this year to try to expand to more countries and states.

Fellow #readaroundtheworld readers. I‘m trying to plan for 2018 and would like to redo this schedule so we run from Jan-Dec.
So please submit your nominations for countries to visit. Those new to the challenge - we pick books to read for each country/month and post reviews, quotes, thoughts, photos of food, etc that match the country.
I will post a revised 2018 list for Jan-December so need nominations for May-dec.
December is Singapore in our #readaroundtheworld challenge. Will you be reading with us this month? Which books are you considering? Which book recommendations do you want to share?
Many thanks to #LitsyPostcardExchange members @ReadingManda , @julesG , and @vlwelser for the marvelous postcards from Missouri, Bielefeld, and Iceland! This photo is a bit cropped, but you get the idea. 😊 It's lovely to be in touch with you all. I will write again soon! 📫💌

Sorry, between being sick (nothing serious) and planning my daughter‘s party, I‘ve fallen behind. I‘m still reading my Syria book 😬
Will you be joining us in Australia this month? What book recommendations do you have for all of us?
Schedule all set up thanks to @steverogers , now just to plan the books! #passportlitsy
This #passportlitsy itinerary is perfect! I look forward to compiling my reading list for 2018. 👍🏼 (Kiribati, though?!)
I‘m about 3 days behind on all the things I need to do and update. I hope to finish my Cuba trip tomorrow. #readaroundtheworld
This month is Syria! Who will be reading with us? I think this will be a fascinating place to visit for our reading tour although I suspect it will also be challenging to find books.
Any suggestions? What will you be reading?

I got my itinerary for #PassportLitsy!
If anyone has any recommended books by authors from the places listed above, I'd love to hear them! Or for books set in those places (I'm going to try for authors, but will settle for setting if I can't find anything)
Who else is travelling with #PassportLitsy in 2018? Anyone joining me at any of these destinations and want to make it a #buddyread?
I'm so excited to join in. I've starting looking a different books from those countries but, haven't decided on any yet. #passportlitsy
So excited for #LitsyPassport ! Got my matches a few days ago, and I plan to do some research this weekend.
For those of you who don't know, I'm hosting a 2018 reading challenge called #PassportLitsy . You sign up and let me know how many countries you'd like to travel to next year and I email you a personalized itinerary of countries you travel to. You then pick a book that takes place in the country to read next year.
You also get access to a private GoodReads group for fellow travelers with book recs.

Who wants to travel this year with a personalized itinerary? Sign up at http://bit.ly/litsyaroundtheworld and use the hashtag #PassportLitsy to discuss your book choices for your countries! Maybe you'll find someone else traveling to the same place as you 💕
So encouraged by my other post (I got self conscious last night lol), would anyone else be interested in doing this challenge? You can control how many countries you go to, and if you go to http://bit.ly/litsyaroundtheworld I will email you your personal itinerary!
I've decided that 1/4 of my books next year will be about (and preferably written by authors from) 25 random countries. I decided to pick my books yesterday so I would have time to compile them all. Here's my list!
Coming up for July: Spain. This should be one of our easiest counties to complete! Tomorrow I will link to our blog post for Thailand and will highlight some of the books you all read. Not gonna lie, I struggled this month with finding books (liking my current book though).
Loving the food posts so keep those coming!
July 1st we'll open it up for Spanish book recommendations #readaroundtheworld
#readaroundtheworld reposting as we are moving into June.
Tomorrow I will post our end of month summary for May. You have 2 more days to squeeze in any last minute Colombian books!
June 1 I'll post the recommendations prompt for Thailand. Hope to see you join in as we travel to Thailand 🇹🇭
Join our Read around the ? challenge. Each month we'll be posting a country and participants can make recommendations, read books, post recipes, country fun facts, photos, and more.
Starts May 1. Nominate a country today. I'll post a list of countries we'll be "visiting" on May 1.
You can choose the level of intensity you want -- join for all counties or just a few over the course of a year.
