Went a bit crazy at the store today... where do I begin?!
Oh my goodness!!! It‘s going to be pretty hard not to just drop everything & read this right now!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jennifer Hillier is now officially on my radar! Oh man this one was so good!! I highly recommend if you‘re a fan of thrillers - Jar of Hearts was creepy and heartbreaking at the same time.
1. I recommend The Book Thief to everyone!!
2. Amsterdam
3. @kellyann28
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Man I love Ruth Ware!! I had to wait a while at the library for this one but it was worth it! It was an oddly slow paced novel for a thriller but I still loved every min & I highly recommend to all!
One of my favorite reads of the entire year! Part fantasy, part history, this book has it all - action, politics, forbidden love, ghosts, poetry.... and the ending had me wrecked 😭 Love love love ❤️
This is a story that celebrates female friendships set against a young girl who has entered into a toxic relationship. This was so different from the other YA contemporary books I‘ve been reading lately & such an important issue.
Okay #unpopularopinion time. I did not like this one 🤨 ... full review on my blog (link in profile) if you‘re interested why but the bottom line is that I wasn‘t a fan of how relationships were portrayed among the young people. #sorrynotsorry
I‘m bummed because I really think this one had promise 🤷♀️
Leah is sarcastic, potty mouthed & super angsty and I thought she was hilarious 😂 This was pretty different from Simon‘s sweet & adorable but it wasn‘t a disappointment.

“Have you ever wondered how long it takes to dig a grave? Wonder no longer...” Erin & Mark are enjoying their picture perfect honeymoon in Bora Bora when they find something in the water that changes everything! This psychological thriller was right on the line between pick & so-so but ultimately I enjoyed it even if it wasn‘t perfect.

So I wouldn‘t rush out and buy this, but if you‘ve got royal fever for this weekend & you‘re interested in a mindless couple of hours of fluff - then go for it 😜😜💍

Not what I was expecting but a fun read nonetheless. I loved that this story focuses more on family and friendship & loving yourself more than traditional YA romance. And who doesn‘t want to road trip through Ireland?? 🍀🍀

A remarkably poignant, slow paced novel about the tragic attempts to assimilate Native American children from the 1880s through the beginning of the 20th century. Highly recommend to any American Historical Fiction fans out there. This one will stick with me for a while. 😪

My mom just got her quarterly box of ARCs ... I‘m in heaven 😍🤩
I wavered between so-so and pick for this one. I caved on pick because I am glad I read it. BUT for me it was a bit disappointing. I hold Maas to a high standard & I know she can do better...

It‘s here!!! Anyone else get this one?? Can‘t wait to start it! (On a side note: I‘ve NEVER received my BOTM box so early in the month before! It was totally unexpected!!) 😍😍📚🍻
Loved this one!!! For fans of The Hating Game - this is a SMART romantic comedy that stands out in its genre. ❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite YA contemporary authors. Starry Eyes was a fun outdoorsy read! Perfect for camping under the stars ✨

Out TODAY!! I loved meeting Martha Gellhorn in this novel & reading about this part of her life. As always, McLain pulled me into history and made me feel like I was traveling the world right alongside this fascinating woman.
Inception meets Agatha Christie... this book is one word: insane! Masterfully plotted, this book will have you at the edge of your seat from page 1! Must read for any mystery fans out there.

Goodreads giveaway bookmail today 🎉📚. I‘ve never read anything by Iris Johansen... love being introduced to new writers 😁
Ahhhh! One of my favorite authors!! I‘ll be on high alert for an ARC of this one! I don‘t want to wait until October!! 🤓🤓
Getting a little reading in while we wait for the laundry to dry.
I think this book is already out in the UK but won‘t be out in the US for another few weeks. It‘s getting excellent reviews so I‘m excited. 😀
Okay so I feel a little on the fence about this one... at its core, it really is a cute story that (let‘s face it) I devoured in less than 24 hours. On the other hand when I think too hard about it, a lot of things really bothered me. I found Elliot‘s actions as an adult borderline creepy (not romantic) and Macy‘s relationship with her fiancé just weird. And I‘m going to pretend the end “revelation” simply didn‘t happen (?). Bottom line: meh.
The BEST way to end a stressful work week is BOOKMAIL!! And I‘ve been wanting this book forever!!!! I can‘t even express my gratitude to @jwashreads 😍❤️. This has just jumped to the very top of my TBR. Thank you thank you thank you!! #longliveleighbardugo ❤️😄🤓🎉📚🍻🍷
So there were definitely things I liked a lot about this book. Mainly how brilliant Araminta Hall was in voicing such a troubling mind with such clarity & believability. The book is the exact right length & that makes it quick & compulsively readable. I guess I‘m just getting bored of this “type” of thriller - unreliable narrator, creepy, alcoholic, etc. I found the plot predicable & mostly unoriginal.
Hi @miralunasbooknook & thanks for the opportunity to win this #curiousheartgiveaway. This book looks really cute!
At the moment I can‘t wait until A Reaper at the Gates is released this June. I‘ve absolutely loved the first two books in Sabaa Tahir‘s series & I‘m anxiously awaiting the next installment!!
Hey ya‘ll! Furyborn is the first book in a new YA Fantasy series by Claire Legrand due out next month. I‘ve got an extra ARC so I wanted to check & see if anyone wanted this one? I read it earlier this month & really liked it. Please comment below if you‘re interested and I‘ll pick a winner randomly this weekend. Sorry but US only on this one please 😘
You guys!!! This totally made my Monday!! I just won a giveaway by the most amazing and awesome @jwashreads !! Thank you so much & thank you to the entire #litsy community for making me feel so welcomed here ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
So I put this book on hold on a whim a while ago & I was notified yesterday it was available. I didn‘t expect it to be all I did yesterday 😂 Such a cute story & Albertalli is pretty funny!! ... I suppose now I have to go be disappointed by the movie 🍿 😜
Hey @jwashreads 😀 Happy Friday and congrats on the awesome #jwash5k milestone!! I chose this #shelfie pic because we‘re baby proofing this weekend and this shelf is headed for the basement ☹️ (but hopefully not forever). Also it happens to be where I stashed my April #botm.
On top of my “must buy” list is Shadow & Bone. I read this trilogy from the library when they came out & LOVE them. I need to collect and reread in prep for King of Scars!!

I'm packing it in for the night so here is my final count. I was hoping for 15 hours so this is awesome!! I admit that some of this time logged as "reading" was very distracted reading (I.e. My 7 month old climbing my legs & pulling my hair) but that's life ?
Now off to bed ??? #25inFive
Lol. I'm so much more forgiving of paperback romance novels than I am of other literature - I think it's because I don't expect it to be more than it is. This was a cute, quick read if you don't mind suspending your disbelief a bit - and I only noticed one glaring historical inaccuracy 😂😂
My first book by Claire Legrand & I'm excited to continue the series because it was such a fun fantasy/adventure! It reminded me a bit of Sarah Maas so I'd definitely recommend to fans of her work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#25inFive - At the end of this book I'm at 4:50:00... going strong 💪
#ducksandbooks Little Ducky Storytime! ❤️❤️ Happy Friday everyone!! The most awesome @DuckOfDoom is doing a fun #giveaway so I gathered all my ducky friends and we had an impromptu storytime (while I'm supposed to be working... shhhh😜).
I'd love to read The Hazel Wood. Thank you for the opportunity & thank you for the fun prompt 😄
Ahhh... I've been looking forward to this all night. That time when Dad is giving the baby his bedtime bottle & I have to hide out in the nursery & put my Boppy to its (other) use. 30 min of uninterrupted reading time ❤️❤️ And so far Furyborn is awesome!!
So I'm joining the legions of Littens who loved this book. I originally picked this one up to fulfill the true crime category of my 2018 #ReadHarder challenge. I've never read true crime before and with a pretty active imagination, I knew this would be a day only sort of book 😱. I am so glad these challenges force me to broaden my horizons. Amazing read... only a few nightmares 😜
And the winners of the #endofthemonthgiveaway are... @TheQuietQuill and @IamIamIam 🎉🎉🎉!! Congratulations!! 🎊🎉🍾Shoot me an email at beckymbarnes@gmail.com so I know where to send these lovelies. Thank you everyone who entered and spread the word!! HAPPY APRIL EVERYONE!!! ❤️
For no other reason than it's the end of the month & I feel like spreading some love, I'm giving away these two books! Repost with the one you want & don't forget to tag me. I'll draw names at the end of the weekend. Good luck!! ❤️📚🐣🎉 #endofthemonthgiveaway
To Kill a Kingdom is a vicious loose re-telling of the Little Mermaid & there is certainly a lot to like. Anti-heroes, prophecies, sarcastic banter & (of course) pirates ☠️😍
That time I went to the library to pick up one book on hold and there were FOUR waiting for me 😃😃I don't even know where to start.... 😱
So I liked this book but I didn't love it. The pace was slow (especially slow for a mystery) but it didn't matter so much because the writing was beautiful. Most specifically, Goenawan did an excellent job depicting quiet grief. In the end I wanted to like the plot more than I did. Pick it up if you're in the mood for a character driven melancholy read. If you're reading for the murder mystery, I might pass.
Just got my April Fresh Fiction Box Not To Miss in the mail today!! I love having some fun light reading (mostly romances ❤️) to clear my palate after the more serious reads. Looks like some ARCs in this one too which is always fun! Happy Monday everyone!! #bookmail
