This is a fun departure from Christie's usual formula. The way it's told builds the sense of menace and mystery in a way that doesn't happen with some of the more formulaic novels. I especially enjoyed observing my evolving feelings about Mike Rogers.

Even though this is not a typical Agatha Christie murder mystery, Iiked „Endless night“ very much. Maybe because it was not a typical Agatha Christie murder mystery. 🤔🤔🤔 I liked how she played with supersticion, but suspected the twist. Was still very good anyhow. 🫶🫶🫶

Least favorite Agatha Christie mainly because I just couldn‘t care about the characters. Man marries rich woman and then worries about what it means to be rich. I‘ve got nothing besides that I feel like I wasted my time on this (thankfully) short book. No, I didn‘t see the murderer coming. So there was that.

Set in autumn and a perfect read for October. This has many constructs I enjoy in a book. Christie delivers again.

Spooky and atmospheric, which I love, but the story seemed to meander and the audio could be hard for me to follow. I really wanted to like this one but it just didn‘t quite hit the mark for me.

When you read enough Agatha Christie novels, they start to become predictable. That being said, this one is short and thoroughly enjoyable. Despite the fact that I had it figured out by the end. This is a stand alone novel, none of the usual characters.

Good heavens, I have a new favorite Agatha Christie. This statement is fairly meaningless as pretty much 6 of 7 books I've read so far have been favorites (I was a bit less enthusiastic with Halloween Party). I know that as prolific an author as she was I will inevitably encounter less stellar entries & that's a price I'll gladly pay for her masterpieces. Contemporary thrillers wouldn't exist without Dame Agatha. Period.

I read this between June 9 & 28; and gave it 3.5 ⭐️ on Good Reads. It‘s not your normal Christie murder mystery and is more of a proto-psychological thriller. For awhile I thought it was going to be more horror with ghosts than mystery. My biggest problem was the book dragged for too long before it became a whodunnit.
