Stealing an idea from @Daisey ! I read a lot more 21st century books this year than I normally do.

My year in books: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_in_books/2020/49239398
2020 brought more time at home, fewer social events, no school events for my kids past March, very little taxiing the kids...which meant more reading time. It‘s a trade off that was not worth it to me, but I did see my largest book total ever completed (since I‘ve been tracking).
(The Bookly Report pages total is correct - I can enter the correct # of pages there.)
I‘m still playing around with different ways to look at my reading stats for the year, so I decided to make a bar graph of original publication date this year. I find both the quantity of new books and those few much older ones interesting. You can definitely see the influence of the #ShaksepeareReadalong in those orange and yellow boxes.

I took some time today to look at my book stats for 2020. Listening to audiobooks the last few years has greatly increased my book count, especially my nonfiction numbers. I also appreciate seeing the sources off my books, and am so thankful for a couple great library systems.

I blew pass the goal I set for myself 🥳
Here‘s my 2020 reading! That‘s up from 308 books in 2019, and I‘m stunned by the increase. I had figured it would be about the same. Each year since I‘ve been on Litsy I‘ve read more books than the year before so thanks for improving my game!
Here's my new reading goal for the year! Also I met my goal last year which was 20! #MyYearInBooks #GoodreadsChallenge #Goodreads
Ok, the final tally for books read in 2020 was 86. Not too shabby, but definitely down from last year. I blame it on the Covid slumps I hit throughout the spring and summer. We‘ll see what 2021 brings!
2020 is done ✔️ - phew!
I had better stats in 2019 🤷🏻♀️. And I feel like I attended better to my reading.
I‘m looking forward to a fresh start, and a better year all around.

Some of the books that got me through 2020! Lots of great reads!
2020 reading wrap up and stats! I‘ve really enjoyed tracking my reading using the Paper app on my iPad this year. My top read of the year was A Gentleman in Moscow, which I ironically read right before going into quarantine in March. My original reading goal was 100 books, but due to the circumstances of the pandemic, far exceeded that number. While 2020 has been hard for many reasons, the silver lining has been my reading life and Litsy!
My Goodreads goal for 2020 was 75 books, but I somehow managed to double that! I listened to more audiobooks this year than ever before, which definitely boosted my totals. I‘m a little disappointed that I didn‘t hit 50,000 pages, but maybe I will in 2021 🤞
Feel free to add me on Goodreads if you‘d like! https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/16610521-brooke
She is just purring and making biscuits. 10/10 for thr coziest blanket @CocoReads

My favorites from 2020 (in no particular order):
The Bird King
The Library at Mount Char
Black Girls Must Die Exhausted
Born a Crime
The Broken Earth trilogy by N K Jemisin
Opium and Absinthe
House of Earth and Blood
Where the Crawdads Sing
Under the Dome
The New Moon‘s Arms
This was my first year tracking my reading in a spreadsheet, and it's so interesting to see all the data. I think it's pretty clear from this graph that I turned to comfort reads to get through the stress of the year.
In total I read 121 books and 34,660 pages. A shockingly good year all things considered, but I dealt with all the stress by alternating between reading nothing for weeks and then reading everything I could get my hands on.
Fave fiction: Girl, Woman, Other
Fave nonfiction: Ace
Other 5-stars: Thick & Other Essays; Daughter of the Forest; The Guernsey Literary& Potato Peel Pie Society; All Boys Aren‘t Blue; The 100 Nights of Hero; March vol 2; Loveless; Romeo& Juliet; Red at the Bone; A Promised Land; The Travelling Cat Chronicles; Tilly & the Lost Fairy Tales
Honorable mentions: The Orchard of Lost Souls; The Vanishing Half; Brown Girl Dreaming; The Return of the King
A glimpse on 2020, I guess with Covid I got to read more books than before.
One last time looking back at 2020! From now on it‘s looking forward to this new year!
Happy New Year 🥂 I hope 2021 is good to you all 💕
My goal for 2020 was to read 50 books but I was a bit naive thinking I could read the same amount as usual with a newborn 😂 still, I‘m happy with the amount I read & most of the books I enjoyed 😁
Happy New Year! I had a goal of 60 books but ended up reading 90 books in 2020. I guess I should up my goal for 2021.
And that's a wrap. Thank you to all my Litsy friends for making this year bearable. I loved this community before, but it was truly a blessing during this weird, weird time. Cheers to 2021.
I would give it half of that first star; spent January and February in so much anxiety I lost 25lbs over a week and a half in February. It was a large reason why I spent March through June with my parents during the early days of the pandemic. But it was my best year of reading (completed 125 books) by far; participating in #bookspinbingo definitely helped with that.
Well, 2020 was a wild ride to say the least! I‘m more than happy with my stats! My original goals were to read 365 books, 100 audiobooks, 100 graphics/comics and 100 picture books. I ended with 823 total read, 503 audios, 127 graphics and 111 picture books! Here‘s my 2020! How did you do?

I had a great reading year. These are my top 10. Blacktop Wasteland was far and away my favorite! Cheers to more great reads in 2021! #bye2020
2020 is a wrap...and I‘m very pleased with my challenges this year. I managed to finish my #MountTBR, #LitsyAtoZ, #Book2020, and #Nonfiction2020, being home a lot with the library closed seemed to help. 🤷♀️

Here are my 20 favorites of the year! After looking through all the other #20Best2020 posts and seeing which ones keep recurring, I added 3 books to my tbr list and moved 2 others up on the list. I love seeing which books were hits with everyone else! @Cinfhen
I started the year with a goal of 150 books, but with everything shut down and a renewed love of audiobooks, I went well beyond that.
In comparison, my pages read in 2019 was 48,403. In 2018, it was 25,424.
My best reading year yet - one of the silver linings in this very strange year.
I wish you could set goals by pages read rather than books, because I think it would help me tackle some of the chunksters on my shelves. But I‘m happy with my numbers, and with the upward trajectory they have been in year over year. In 2021 I plan to focus on those books I‘ve always meant to read. Happy New Year everyone!
Well I‘ve called it for 2020. I may finish one more book but it will be late tonight if I do. It‘s been. Great reading year. Thank all of you Littens for supporting me and cheering me on through books slumps and burnout. I love this community. 🥰
Happy New Year!
The wait is ALMOST over! Tomorrow is opening day for the #Bestof2020Swap. I hope everyone is as excited as I am! Don't forget to post a photo of your goodies.
I know some of you are still waiting for your packages to arrive. I'm sorry you won't be able to join in on the excitement on opening day, but on the bright side, at least you won't have to wait to open your package when it arrives! Please let me know when you receive it.
Thank you all!
