Please, book gods, send me a stellar book. This book was kinda ridiculous. I didn‘t believe in any of the characters, or their shenanigans and really, I am not sure why I kept reading. Blech.

This book was recommended to me via Amazon. I needed a vacation book, so I bought it without even reading the book summary. I loved it! The premise is a couple swaps partners. Which has been covered time and time again. But this is different. It‘s a page turner that keep you guessing. Recommended read!

My reading view today…until about 12:00 when a family of four sat right behind me, turned their radio up and talked incessantly. Usually I don‘t mind if the beach is crowded but there was NO ONE on the beach and plenty of room to spread out😕

I read this in one day, I never read the blurb on books and I‘m glad because I really didn‘t know where this was going ha. Funny but intense

While written wonderfully, the premise and synopsis felt misleading. There were too many storylines that went unexplored for it to feel complete even though they occasionally intersected with the main arc.

This review will be followed by a blurb (containing spoilers) that goes into my main issue with this novel.

Whaaaaaaat did I just read? It‘s insane!

In short, this is a story of a toxic group of people with varying degrees of mental health issues all try to be friends with one magnetic person. On its face this might be enough to cause drama, but throw in a marital spouse swap that results in an unintended pregnancy and the sparks really fly. This whole story is really diabolical and twisted. A dark tale indeed.

This is definitely a page turner from beginning to end! I dare someone to start reading and not be so fascinated she tosses this book aside. It‘s that compelling! Once I started reading my initial thoughts were quickly thrown in another direction. The characters are all so completely insane! Or, are they?!

Dark & absorbing, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐩 by 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐲𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 focuses on 2 couples & a teenage girl caught up in a debacle caused by obsession, compulsion, narcissistic machinations, & weakness. None of them are particularly empathetic or likable, but you won't be able to put down this twisty thriller until you reach the shocking conclusion. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⁣

You know what? I think Low is okay. Yes, she's a whole lot of weird with no sense of boundaries but at the end of the day, she's a decent human being. Now, I can't say the same for that psycho Freya. I can't say that I'm sad about what happened to her in the end. I may have to look into reading more of her books!

obsession manipulation and toxic relationships plus one night at a friend‘s house...what could go wrong right???this book is another “unputdownable” (is that even a word lol) psychological thriller...truly enjoyed it and definitely recommend...found another favorite author #audiophile #readinglife #readinggoal

This is exactly the book I needed to end my slump. Picked it up from my tbr pile at 7 pm and finished at 12:27! Read it... Tomorrow 😉

Wicked, but unrealistic

The Swap was compulsively readable and fun. It is difficult to explain, but it involves a couple swap with serious consequences and a manipulative teenager who knows too much. I didn‘t see the end coming, which I always appreciate in a thriller. If you haven‘t read any of Harding‘s books, you‘re missing out! 4 ⭐️ #netgalley

While I do have Harding‘s earlier novels on my never-ending TBR, this one is actually my first experience with her writing. Told in multiple perspectives, set on a quiet island, the story centers around Freya- an attention grabbing blonde who manages to hold many under her sway- from an awkward teen, her own celebrity husband and a woman looking for her own dreams to come true. Fast paced and engaging, I enjoyed this one! #NetGalley

On a happier note, today I received unexpected #Bookmail through a #GoodreadsGiveaway that I entered & won a while ago. I thought I had filled in the acceptance form incorrect & was not gonna ever get this. My first giveaway win 🥳📚🥰

A killer story! Everyone‘s obsessed with something in this one! I own Robyn Harding‘s other books, but haven‘t gotten to them yet.. I must go to them soon!

Having a fangirl moment! Robyn Harding liked my review of her book. This is the first time that has happened to me and it is pretty exciting 🖤

There is something about the way that Harding writes that just grabs me from the get go. It is so compulsively readable. This one is set on a small island with a few main players and told from different POVs. Basically what happens when a drug induced evening ends up with a spouse swap? Then throw in a sulky jealous teenager and complications galore. I devoured this one and highly recommend.
