Pickpick

“We came on the wind of the carnival.”

Finished in January for #TwinPeaksReadingChallenge
#AudreyHorne

Vianne Rocher sweeps into the town of Lansquenet and opens a chocolate shop across from the church during Lent, making an enemy of Father Francis.

This is such a good story. A little bit witchy and full of delicious details. The food descriptions almost make me salivate. I recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 1 of Chocolat

@dabbe Australia Kit Kat ! Though I think it is crazy to ship stuff this far , it‘s sustainably sourced chocolate if the wrapper is to be believed. Hard to resist,Cost Plus World Market.

CarolynM @Teresereading Is Tasmanian mint a thing? It‘s new to me🤔 1mo
Leftcoastzen @CarolynM I will bet they just thought it was a cool marketing thing! You would know better than I ! 😁They pass the taste test!😂 1mo
Teresereading @CarolynM @Leftcoastzen I think I have seen this here too. We grow a lot of high quality produce, so it might be grown here, but I don‘t it‘s iconic (yet) 😏 1mo

Mehso-so

Two pages of notes front and back, a few dozen tabs and this book is finally done… I was very much NOT the intended audience for this book and it shows in my notes.

Not to complain, but the margins in my book are too small for my notes… so I now have a yellow notepad to be snarky on.
One point of complaint…. There is too much untranslated French in here. I‘m creating a personal glossary for the book… since in my infinite wisdom, I took Spanish in school, not French.

JenlovesJT47 Do you want to know something highly embarrassing? I‘ve never seen any of these movies including the original! 😳😱Need to fix that! 4mo
dabbe @JenlovesJT47 Too funny! The oldie in me says you HAVE to watch the older one with Gene Wilder as Wonka. Depp was just too far out there for my tastes. As he is in pretty much everything (except maybe 21 JUMP STREET), but I digress. 🤣 4mo
JenlovesJT47 Lol Johnny‘s gonna Johnny! 😆 I definitely need to watch the original, I love Gene Wilder. 💚 4mo

tpixie @dabbe I agree about Depp! And that Gene Wilder is the best Wille Wonka! 4mo
tpixie @JenlovesJT47 oh! Bonnie and Clyde! My 1st R rated movie! My parents were not happy. My friend‘s father took us when I was in first grade to the drive-in theater!! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 @tpixie that‘s so funny! B&C is such a great movie. I‘m due for a rewatch, haven‘t seen it since Gene Hackman died. ♥️ 4mo
tpixie @JenlovesJT47 it‘s time for a re- Watch! 4mo

#Bibliophile Day 21: #AuthorWPseudonym #AuthorWithPseudonym - well i will do you one better, actual “name” is Pseudonymous Bosch - how clever, right? This Secret Series is one that I own (not sure if I have all the books), but haven‘t gotten around to reading yet. Fats posted this as part of her book haul back in 2012 at GatheringBooks: https://wp.me/pDlzr-4JF
