I watched the show True Blood years ago and I‘ve had this book on my Kindle ever since. I finally decided to read it just to get it done but folks, it was bad. I don‘t even really know how this got published let alone made into a TV show. Just badly written. And Sookie is even more annoying in the book than she was in the TV show which I didn‘t think was possible. 🧛/5
Wasn‘t a fan of the book and not a fan of the audio.

So I saw this review posted here and got the book that you to the person posting it great read I like that it was different and it was really interesting to read ☺️🙌🏽
Dead Until Dark is my choice for #dark. I loved this series, although I'm not sure how I'd feel about it now. #AutumnPlease #scarathlon @eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
A very battered paperback copy for #ScarathlonPhotoChallenge Day 9: Dark
#MagicalMonsters
This is the first in one of my favorite series. It's a bit goofy and ridiculous, but for some reason I find it comforting so I always turn to it when I'm feeling low or particularly stressed.

A favorite #AntiHero of mine from both the book & the television show. #TeamEric
These lines just seem to fit Eric Northman:
“I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser
Midnights become my afternoons
When my depression works the graveyard shift
All of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room”
So I was looking for books for my vampire #lmpbc group and I opened the book I bought to find this...🔼🔼 what a nice surprise! #sookiestackhouse #trueblood

1. I have so many females I love but I think I'd choose Sookie from the Southern Vampires Series (aka True Blood) She's a tough cookie who is constantly used, tricked & put in situations others create but always comes out on top.
2. I think I'd put her in the world of Black Dagger Brotherhood. That way she can still be around vampires, some who also have telepathy, but not be in constant danger or used for her gift.
@TheSpineView
Did anyone else ❤️ this series? Sookie just wanted to read her library books and work on her tan, but all those vampires complicate things. #adventrecommends
I think I might have read this on Kindle about 9 years ago, but that was before I used Goodreads to track my reading. I don‘t think I loved it, but I don‘t think I hated it. This time, on audio, I just can‘t keep going. I‘m bored and annoyed. The constant reference to Sookie‘s ability to hear other people‘s thoughts as a disability sets my teeth on edge. I made it 1/3 of the way through, but I‘m done.
Sookie has a secret that she keeps from almost everyone.

October 11 #WordSearchPhotoChallenge Dark I read this one e awhile back . The series was made into a tv series called True Blood. @StayCurious #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash
4✨ Sookie is a night waitress and has a special gift for reading minds. When a vampire named Bill comes in her life is changed forever. This was a really fun read. I could have done without all the sexual content. There was quite a bit of this, but in relatively short segments all through the book. The mystery was intriguing, and the danger very real. #Scarathon #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick
I‘ve decided to reread the Sookie Stackhouse series. I was watching True Blood earlier this summer. I am currently on Season 5, but I wanted to also read the books. I‘ve never listened to them on audio, so I figured I‘d try that and they are on hoopla.
Eric is my favorite, so I‘m just waiting to get to him and that storyline!

Day 278.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.

This was the first thing that came to mind for #Pub. Unfortunately, I only read the first book in the series and I only watched half of the first episode of the show. I couldn't get into either.
Dark chocolate to go with a Sookie Stackhouse book for Valentine's.

Bk12 of January 2022 & #JumpStart2022 & Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! A nostalgic reread of a much loved series, I forgot how much I enjoyed this book. It‘s not the most eloquent story I‘ve ever read but it has heart & a depth that‘s surprising. Much better than the tv series, though I did enjoy True Blood too! #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #Pop22 #AudiobookChallenge2022 #FinishingTheSeries2022 #Pageathon #PennyPerPage
I‘ve missed a day of my time zones #20in4 #readathon so I‘ll probably follow along with my non-aussie littens! If that‘s ok? Amazing the things you find in a cleanup, including my iPod full of old audiobooks! So I‘ll be kicking off my readathon with the tagged book, which I haven‘t read for years. I‘m determined to get my hours this time, no Great Library Clean to stop me🙌📚⏱ #JumpStart2022

Charlaine Harris created a world I just can't get enough of. I've read all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels and rewatch the True Blood series every summer.

I‘m behind again. ??♀️
Dead Man‘s Party made me think of a Eric Northman in the Sookie Stackhouse books, played by the delicious Alexander Skarsgård in the TV adaptation, True Blood.
I wanted to like this book so much, I really did. I loved the TV series, and I‘m looking forward to the reboot. I had to bail on this, though. I just didn‘t like it. Personally, I just didn‘t think it was very well written; it couldn‘t hold my attention. I kept comparing it to the TV series, and it just didn‘t measure up. To each their own. I‘ll be rewatching the series instead of reading the books. Can‘t wait for the reboot series!
I read two more cards this month.

I know this is a very popular series, but it is a little too chick-lit for my tastes. I probably won‘t continue, but that‘s just me.
Yikes. Well this is one where the book isn‘t better than the series. 😳 TBH, I thought Sookie and Bill were the least interesting characters in the show. The secondary characters made the series for me. I don‘t know what I was expecting but Sookie is written as a shallow simpleton and Bill is a boring and bossy creeper. No character development. The other characters are barely even window dressing. Zero campy fun.
April 2021 - audio rereading for the millionth time - sometimes you just want to listen to something familiar and then realize that you‘ve grown up or changed and some of the behavior now irritates you - can‘t decide if it had made me sad.
It's supposed to rain all weekend so I've got two vampire books ready. 🦇❤️

1. Doctor's appointments, taking down Christmas decorations and putting the laundry away. (It's been sitting in the basket for days 😂)
2. My favorite local jam lady had an end of the year sale so my mother and I stocked up.

I know I‘m VERY late to the party, but I finally got my teeth stuck into this 🧛
After starting this I realized it‘s something I read a long time ago. Not sure if that‘s the reason I can‘t get into it or not, but I gave it a few chapters and it‘s not grabbing me so I‘m bailing on this one. I may try out a later one from the series at some point though.
Honestly enjoyed this one more than I thought I would! Vampires, mind readers, shape shifters and murders. A great book for this time of year. Total points for #teamharkness and #scarathlon is 135. It took me 1hr & 14min to finish today, which counts for #littenlisten. I‘m also participating in #october20in4 but I‘ll post that total later. This book also counts for #screamathon and #bookspin
Made more progress on this yesterday and really am enjoying it! It‘s been long enough since I watched the show that I don‘t remember too many details. I‘m usually a book before movie/tv show girl, but I found out about the books because of the show. I also watched four episodes of The Order, so a total of 21 points for #teamharkness for #scarathlon2020. This one is also part of my #bookspinbingo and #screamathon
Today was more about pumpkin patches and watching movies, but I did start the tagged audiobook plus read more of The Strings of Murder. Finished the #cyoreadathon with 9hrs and 20 mins and the #october8in2 with 6hrs and 14 mins. Besides Halloweentown, I watched two episodes of The Order on Netflix and Lonesome Ghosts on Disney. Total points for #teamharkness 171
#SuperSeptember midweek update @Andrew65

I‘ve never read any of these books. I‘m only a few pages in, so no real opinion yet.
