pickI couldn't find the individual issues on the database (which didn't surprise me really) so I figured I'd post all the stunning covers together.
This series was awesome. I loved the origin story of the new Goddess of Thunder, and the way it kept the suspense over her identity. It was full of action, laughs and feels. A brilliant set of stories.
Good news: after a little over 2 years away one of my best friends is moving back to the island!
Bad news: he wants his books back.
He's said theres no rush if I want to finish reading them first (which I do) but I've had 2 years to read them already so I'm gonna work through them now... 😅
pickI enjoyed this one a lot. More than I was expecting to. I‘m hoping that future issues of the comics for her have appearances by Loki.

This was a pretty fun volume. There was lots of action, but I wasn't as invested in this one as I was in The Mighty Thor. That might be because the plot is all about figuring out who the new Thor is, and since I read them out of order, I already know.
Book 1 for #Deweys24hourReadthon. I listened to about 9 chapters of The Shape of Water and I just don't want to read it so I put it down to get this read

pickThor's a lady now, and she couldn't be any more awesome! This was a really fun comic. I kind of wish it had focused even more on the new Goddess of Thunder, but I also understand the need for a good bit of set up. Definitely convinced me I'm going to have to pick up volume 2!

pickI didn't have a lot of expectations when I started reading this. I already knew who the identity of Thor, Goddess of Thunder was prior to starting it (thanks spoilers). I enjoyed it. I enjoyed seeing a woman take on the mantle of Thor and carrying Mjolnir and kicking ass and taking names. Definitely going to check out the rest of the series.
I've finished off all my single issue comics, barring #Monstress which I'm waiting for issue 12 for. Now it's onto my trades. I've had this sitting in my TBR pile for over a year. Excited to get into it.
Went out to our local comic book store for free comic book day with my boyfriend. We came back with 18 of the selected free issues and an additional 5 comics that I bought, the ones on the left side of the picture. Can't wait to read them all! #fcbd2017

Picked up Thor The Goddess of Thunder for Book Riot's #readharderchallenge for the superhero comic with a female lead. While I already read and love Ms. Marvel with Kampala Kahn, I wanted to pick up something new for the challenge. Then I found Black Magic in the new releases section. The library near my work actually has a great graphic novel section!

pickMarvel, prior to the release announced that The female wielding Mjolnir was not Lady Thor, Ms Thor, or anything other than Thor. What is most amusing is the constant referencing the misogyny of the comic world, mocking and using the very words that said, "Thor can't be a woman!"

I was excited to hear Thor was getting a revamp in female form... and this is an interesting beginning. I was hoping for a bit more plot, and less dude-Thor, honestly. I'll check out the second volume and decide after that if I'll ultimately continue.

pickFirst book done for #24in48! I'm loving this badass female Thor! Adding for the contest- I chose this book because I love comics but especially with female superheroes. What girl doesn't want a hero like her? Also a fan of Jason Aaron.
This one almost ruined the whole thing for me. It was promised to be 'feminist' because yay! female Thor - but made the men look like idiots and the female villain do this. Poppycock. Furthermore, who knew that 'Thor' isn't a given, personal name but a title?
pickEnjoyed this one a lot! Thor is totally badass! I'm so fascinated by who she really is, I can't wait to keep reading. The gender politics of Asgard/Asgardia is really interesting and I'd like to read more about that too. Also, Odin needs to chill.
