Moving starts Friday. I hate that I had to pack up all my books 😭😭😭😭 this is only 1/4 of my books packed....ugh. I hate moving even though my new place is awesome with washer &dryer in unit, a dishwasher and a fireplace....... the stress is real and books not out makes me sad
I loved this story and thought it was really well written. It‘s told in four different voices and they were very different. It was a story of reflection and reminiscing, a tale of family, love, betrayal and guilt. It‘s the first book I‘ve read by this author and it won‘t be my last.
My first book by Jenny Eclair -what a brilliant storywriter!
Edwina Spinner has lived in the same house for over fifty years. Each room has a story to tell but she has made the decision to sell it. Edwina takes the estate agent around the house and relieves happy and painful memories. She can‘t help but think of the lies, regrets, hurt and secrets that have haunted her family.
The characters made this such a dark, moving and compelling read.
The library is packed for its cross-country trip! (Yup, 90% of that wall of boxes is books.)
It has been a VERY long time since I've been on here! It's been a crazy few months since we decided to build on my family's property. Over the last 3 months we've been focused on designing a new house, selling our current house, and moving into a rental. Meanwhile, what's the thing that's giving me the most stress in the moving process??? How am I getting these safely from place to place and how am I going to store them all?! #bookhoarderproblems
Cozzy is being very helpful while I pack tonight. Pictured: just a fraction of the 400+ books I have, apparently. I didn‘t realize I had this many??
Hello everyone ! So long since I've been here ! It's the third time we move this year because of the Covid and because my hubby found a new job 800 km far from here. So I negotiated with him to have an emergency supply during the process 😁. Here's my shelf and it'll be my TBR during the packing, the travel and the installation 😝🤩 + three magazines about History and literature. I hope it'll be good for October 🤣
When you‘re moving, unpack the books first. Obviously. 🤓
My bookshelves are being moved so I'm slowly but surely carting all of my books downstairs in preparation. About half way through and rediscovering some unread stuff in the stacks that I'll need to get to asap 😆📚
We are moving in 2 weeks so all Christmas is being taken down 😕 and life is being packed up. 😊 Trying so much to take breaks to sit and read - just wishing I could wiggle my nose like Bewitched and just be there! ☺️
It‘s been a while since I‘ve been here. Life happens. Well, I just bought a house that has room for a full library. I‘m really excited to start putting everything together. Almost everything I own is in boxes, with the exception of the kitchen. My challenge is to set everything up before Christmas, including the 14 IKEA Billy bookshelves I have to put together and fill it with my books, which are also in boxes! Wish me luck.
#SelfImprovementSept Day 7: My #FavoriteReadingSpot is packed in one of the over 300 boxes in this 20-foot container van that has yet to arrive from Singapore to our new home in Al Ain. Please send positive energies that all my books will come in one piece soonest.
Oh lord. I haven‘t even boxed half my books and I‘m already overwhelmed by boxes.
Remind me again how you all cut down your book collections?
#moving #ohno
Life update since I haven‘t been as active on here lately: my life is chaos rn. Still working on cert exams. Still applying for new jobs. Still packing. Still getting beat up. BUT! We close on the house on Wednesday & move in on Saturday. We got info on getting the child into counseling ASAP to help with things. And two weeks until spring break! (&
Packing up my books to move to my new apartment. I have to leave quite a few behind because I just won't have the space. It makes me extremely sad to part with some of my dearest reads.
Thank you so much @squirrelbrain for the surprise package. Sorry I've only just got to it. I've been in limbo between two houses!

Looking forward to reading this and it's so perfect as I am packing the last of my stuff for my move this week!
I didn‘t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did it was one that‘s sat on my kindle for a while and I‘m so glad I decided to start it. The story, told from various perspectives, is really interesting and captivating. Shows that one night can change a whole host of people‘s lives forever. Would recommend!
1-12 2-8 hours away 3-at least 70 last time it was over 50 4-yes to my forever home hopefully 5-Anyone who will help but unpaid is better 😝 @JoScho #packingdistractions
In the last 30 years, twice. Maybe a mile. 20 - 25? Maybe if we decide to retire in Central Oregon. In my current home since 98. I hate to move, but I am a control freak so will do it myself.
#packingdistraction @JoScho
1. 3 times
2. 10 mins away or less each time
3. i had soooo many boxes because i have hundreds of books. and half are still in boxes 4 years later 😂
4. def not moving! i finally found my perfect place and buying/selling is a huge pain in the ass
5. nay this last time i did everything by myself 😩 the other two times my sons father had two of his sons help
#packingdistraction
1. 3 times as a child, 19 times as an adult (not counting “moving” in/out of college since I lived in a dorm)
2. 3,092 miles PA to CA (made a slight detour on my way to the west coast)
3. varies between 8-12 - but this last move has motivated me to reduce the load since VA is not my final destination & book boxes are heavy
4. 👆🏻
5. YAY! I‘ve done it by myself and with movers. Movers are definitely worth it.
Congratulations on your upcoming move @Rachel.Rencher and @Lucas.Rencher and of course Winston! #movinggiveaway
When your upcoming cross-country move is confirmed and the first thing you want to know about the area is what bookstores are nearby! 🤣
If you or anyone you know lives in the Seattle/Tacoma area, introduce yourself or tag 'em... I'd love to (virtually) meet you! 😃

2. We recently moved states and I had every single box unpacked a week after our stuff was delivered.
3. My most recent DNF was Windfall by Jennifer Smith.
4. Ummm...we‘re going to an amusement park tomorrow to see the Christmas light displays but that‘s not for Veterans Day. Just a coincidence.

Thankfully the house now looks more like a home. We are NEVER moving house again.

Pleasantly surprised by this - was lent it by a friend and it's perhaps not something I would have picked up myself but I really enjoyed it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oops. No path. At least they‘re out of the boxes. I HAVE MY BOOKS BACK!!!!!
We‘re getting a new floor in the basement. This means all my bookcases have to be emptied temporarily. 140 book boxes have just been delivered. I love to reorganize my books; now I have a few weeks time to pack them, think of a new ordening system, unpack them and fill the cases again 😍!
I had friends over to help me pack. While I was upstairs, they packed up all the donation books... 😟
When we knew we were moving (to the city I work in...yay, no more 1.5hr commute!), my husband told me I had to move my books. As soon as I had possession of the new place, I faithfully lugged up all my books to my new apartment, a little at a time, each day, for a week. I'm paper books all the way!
FYI...books and yarn were the first thing into the apartment...pretty good start, eh?
#6666giveaway @Booksandcooks
Littens, how I miss you all and my reading time! But soon all of my books and belongings will be packed into this pod and on the road to Boston.
Starting on box four of books for the upcoming move! @kylienoele and I will probably have more books than anything else to pack! 😅
Current situation. Got all of the books moved yesterday, all of the furniture moved today, and now the great re-shelving has started. All in 90 degree heat and no air conditioning. 💀
What do you hate more than moving? Currently putting in work on this moving day. (The correct answer is "nothing moving is the worst thing in the world, fuck moving")
My books! My books! (And some other stuff.)
