Light Pick. 3.5⭐
⬗ This is a story of a very uninteresting (so yeah, it was a touch dull) vampire who works as an accountant and his rather cozy (if you like cozies, this might be for you) adventurous tales of how he finds his own sort of family despite being a vampire.
⬗ Graphic Audio did an amazing job with this. If I had listened to the regular audio of this.
An easy, quick, 1 sitting book. Fred was a plump boring kid, an awkward boring adult & a boring undead accountant.
He reunites with an old friend at his high school reunion & she all but throws her gorgeous self at him. Needless to say he‘s surprised.
They spend several chapters experiencing all sorts of dangerous situations. The weresteed … pony … jousting … was hilarious.
In the end it was a fun beginning of a series! I‘ll continue.

This is an impulse read from July.
Fred is your typical mousy accountant with one exception: he's a vampire.
The collection of short stories spans about a year of Fred's undead life. From his high-school reunion to the following Christmas. A year that is definitely not uninteresting or unadventurous. He meets other supernatural beings and makes friends (and enemies) among them.
Low pick, reason ⬇️

Three times' the charme, right? Saw this series mentioned three times within the last week. The most recent one in a post about the 20 best vampire novels: https://bookriot.com/best-vampire-books-of-all-time/
They are available for free with an Audible.de membership, so I'm giving it a try, obviously.

PS: there's also a full cast audiobook version, but I wanted to try the "plain" version first
I love audiobooks and I stumbled upon graphic audio on hoopla (I love the library!) I am utterly in love with the Fred the Vampire series. I really like books about things normally thought of as scary but when you find out about their everyday life they become endearing so books about a vampire who wins fights with tax code loopholes is perfect for me. It‘s got romance and friendship and is the perfect listen for this incredibly hard work week.
This series starter is for fans of B-movie paranormal camp. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#the-utterly-uninteresting-and-unadve...
This was funny in a smart snarky way. I loved it.
Littens, please join me in welcoming back my sister, @hollyvoncount to Litsy!!! She took a break while she was in school, but she recently graduated with her Bachelor‘s of Science in Accounting degree and has more time for reading now 🎉 Feel free to comment with tags, tips, and some of your favorite accounts to follow. Here is a Litsy master post! https://sites.google.com/view/litsywelcomewagon/home #LitsyWelcomeWagon
#WindsofMarch @Eggs Was lucky enough to get the ARCs of The Drowning Kind, Kisses and Croissants and was just approved for Jo Koy's new book Mixed Plate today.
Trying to get through 3 audio books this month, will be spending the first two hours of my work day with Obama, its been so pleasant. I could listen to him read the phone book. Will also listen to Raybearer and the tagged book if I get the time. Then some backlist picks.
@Graciouswarriorprincess I am blown away by your generosity! I love everything about this package! Was so excited to see the tagged book because I heard about the series last year because my sister is studying to be an accountant. Thank you so much for everything! So thoughtful even down to the plush pumpkins and wrapping. Happy Halloween!! #HauntedHollowSwap
A book far more interesting than the title claims to be about an accountant turned vampire who find himself in a series of wild supernatural situations after reconnecting with an old friend at a high school reunion where he helps take down a violent pack of werewolves. I loved the premise that being undead does little to change someone's life other than introduce a lot of supernatural shenanigans & the voice is really excellent. A very fun read.
“I was midway through packing when I paused to contemplate whether it was appropriate to bring the blood.” 😂😂😂

#pricedrop! My husband and his family are passionate fans of Hayes' Super Powereds series; I haven't tried him yet.
This light hearted and unusual look at the un-lives of supernatural beings as narrated by Fred the Vampire accountant did not disappoint. It‘s hard to both be light hearted and pull off a believable world in which these beings exist, yet the author does. Much more interesting than the title let‘s on, as Fred continually underestimated himself. Loved it
This was given to me by @TK421 in the #booktoteswap and wow did I enjoy this! There were many times I literally laughed out loud. Fred is hilarious and very relatable. I have already added the next book in this series to my TBR and I cannot wait to read more about Fred‘s adventures!
Woohoo 🎉 this is randomly part of today's #kindledeals which are basically business, biography, and self help 😂 thanks to @ValkyrieAndHerBooks for putting it on my radar! #mommyreads #vampires
Holy amazing tote bag Batman!!! @TK421 you absolutely nailed it! I am blown away by all of my awesome goodies! I have been wanting to read all of these books forever! I don‘t know which one to start with haha and the journal and adorable vase and washi are fantastic!! And that tote!! I can‘t even! 😍😍 I had to bring the sour worms with me to work 😉👏🏻🤓 thank you so much!!
OMG! I just started listening to this audiobook on the way to pick up my granddaughter from school. I could not stop chuckling. This book is hilarious. I don't know if I can wait to read it only while I'm driving. That was my original intent but I'll probably dig into it again later on tonight.
What a fun listen!! These tales are more like episodes of a great television show! And the #AudioBook is so well-performed!! Definitely looking forward to listening to more of the series!! #AudioColoring
I enjoyed this one much more than I expected! Reading more like a collection of short stories than a traditional novel, Freddy's inadvertent adventures introduce a charming cast of characters and runs a gamut of hilarious and dangerous events. I will definitely be picking up the next book!

1. This cover is just brilliant.
2. This book is anything but uninteresting and unadventurous.
3. Fred, the vampire accountant, gets a crash course in the parahumans. With his girlfriend, a zombie sidekick, two mages, and a werepony, Fred meets foe upon foe, and slowly learns that there is more to being a vampire than what is in the movies.
I laughed, I gasped and I teared up a little. It was a fun read, with a great twist at the end.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Making apple sauce today (ended up making 6.5 gallons today) and finished my book.
Fred is obviously not your average vampire, he's timid and boring; until he meets an old friend. Great world building and characters that I really want to hear more about.
I enjoyed this book, although small parts feel repetitive.
I hope future books in this series become more like novels rather than a collection of short stories.
Loooooved this. It's adorable and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Another good one! The most unlikely vampire book yet, how can you pass up when the vampire is question is called Fred? An accountant vampire..... This one was a hoot to read! Here's my review.

This was cute, which isn't the normal word to describe a vampire book. The premise, what if you maintained your awkward, mild-mannered personality after becoming a vampire, played well. It was sweet and funny and Kirby Heyborne was a great narrator. Drawback: written like a collection of stories, so each new adventure started with reintroducing the characters. But overall good enough that I'll read the rest of the series. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Started listening to this on my drive this morning and I'm hooked.
"You will eventually discover that under the movie stereotypes, imposed mystique, and overall inflated expectations, each and every one of us is at least a touch more boring than our images would indicate. And that is not a bad thing."
This is such a fun read! Who knew the undead could lead such mundane lives, while still having some adventures tossed in for good measure?
Fun and quick read, with a quirky sense of humor. Conveyed much the same voice as I have in my writings. Looking to read more if the author's work, and I suspect we would be gaming friends, given the opportunity.
