I wanted to read this series because I've become interested in the Civil War era. It's an excellent book, and very timely. Often we can only see the division and hear the differences between ourselves, but we need to remain united as human beings.

Waiting for our plane Alaska Airlines had a little shelf of free books for kids. This is the one he picked and immediately wanted me to start reading it to him.
I need some audiobook recommendations!
My husband uses audiobooks to stay awake during his long commute, but lately we've been having trouble finding a good gripping book.
Please give me your best recommendations!
* Almost any genre except horror
* We especially look for really long books or series
* We use Audible
* A good narrator is a must
This is my weekend here! 😍 4, 2, and brand new! I love my boys 💙💙💙
WoW! @BraveNewBooks thank you so much for this amazing box!!! So many awesome goodies!
@BookishMarginalia
Thrift Store finds! $8 for two complete trilogies!
Picked up a little something to read this weekend while my husband and I are relaxing out of town.
My boys decided to bring books for show and tell at preschool this morning. So proud of my little readers! #kidsoflitsy #learningtoread
Starting this one. I've never read Gaiman, but I have a couple of his books, so no time like the present to jump in.
I love reimagined classics and myths ( like Odin appearing in The Dresden Files) but I also like to have the original story laid out.
Current mood: Pregnant and Lazy! I've been in a bit of a slump lately. I've been reading but not posting and not super excited about anything I read. Hopefully I can find an exciting adventure to pull me out :-)
To my #summersantagoespostal match: I have cleared out all books that I own from my TBR!
@BookishMarginalia
Thank you @RestingBodiceFace for the awesome package! I have not read either of these books and I love all of the little notes! I can't wait to get started on these!

I enjoyed this book, mostly. I have little boys so a futuristic Spartan society, raising boys to be battle commanders and killers, is an interesting and horrible concept. I listened to the 20th anniversary audiobook and enjoyed the Ender narration but the woman voicing Valentine got on my nerves.
I finished it. Maybe I'm not old enough to "get" some of it. I felt like there was some depth and profound life truths mixed with a lot of WTF am I even reading?!?
#litsyAtoZ letter B
Having a hard time wanting to finish this one. The first few chapters were interesting, but this middle part is killing me (penis measurements of every male character?!?) among other things.
Anyone feel like this book has major redeeming qualities?
I have never kept track of my reading before so this will be interesting!
As far as a favorite read this month, I listened to the last 6 books of the Dresden Files and read The Hogfather, and I can't decide which of these wins that title, probably Hogfather.
This one was fun! (it's not in the system) Reminds me of Hitchhiker's Guide with gratuitous name dropping.
#litsyAtoZ for the letter A
So you ever have those social interactions that you have picked apart to death and feel like you made a horrible impression on someone? I had to bring my dog in to the vet (pretty sick) and I felt like they thought I was a horrible person 😥 and now I am waiting for a call back with a huge weight in my belly.

This will be sent out today! I love these book exchanges!

"That statement is either so deep it would take a lifetime to fully comprehend every particle of its meaning, or it is a load of absolute tosh."
This little dude loves to read! His favorite are the Priddy picture books. He points and tells me what all of the pictures are. #kidsoflitsy #learningtoread
My little guys catching snowflakes with their tongues. We've gotten another foot+ of snow since this picture, and it's -20 at night. Amazing California weather!
Getting a lot of cozy reading in.
#steampunk #bookhaul
Today's (Amazon) book haul. I live very far from any bookstore, so most of my books come from online.
Our Christmas stories. We read the Grinch tonight, they are so excited for Christmas!
I ate this one up! I have been wanting to read this and finally did, and it was exceptional! Set in the future with heavy emphasis on the 80's as well, it's really fun.
Plenty of adventure and a side of romance. The main character is great and you know he's going to come out on top, but it's not predictable. It's a fun ride and a great story.
While I was setting out my gifts for a picture Nugget laid down next to them and needed his picture taken too. This is the first clear picture I've ever gotten of him and we've had him since September!

AMAZING!!!
A tote, mittens, bookmarks, book stickers, maple green tea, a set of Alice in Wonderland teas, Ready Player One, and a beautiful Anne of Green Gables.
Both books are ones that I have never read and have been considering buying.
Thank you so much Monika! It is all so awesome, I love it!!!
*EXCITED*
I got my #litsygoespostal #wintersolsticegiftexchange
in today from @MonikaS !!!
Must use self control to keep myself from opening the (well-taped) box! Thank you

Steampunk is one of my favorite genres, but for me it's difficult to find ones where the adventure outweighs the romance. Gail Carriger's world is fantastic and fun.

I really just want all the books and a beautiful place to put them! Right now I am really coveting Harry Potter or the Codex Alera on Audible. I'd also take a new amazing series, the next Outlander book, or bookish merch!

My boys saw Santa last night, one loved it, the other screamed bloody murder.
Also the 3 year old (this one) ran around telling the other kids Santa wasn't real. Good Times!

Little Christmas decorating. With toddlers and a kitten we keep things simple to keep the stress down. Our "tree" isn't amazing, but it doesn't get destroyed either???
Made these guys for a friend. Love the original Star Wars and haven't really gotten into the newer ones (yet).

@Liberty
I don't usually have a real TBR, when I do it is because I decided to read a series, so this will be a fun experience. I've also never done a reading challenge.
My list isn't as pretty as others, but hey I got a list.
I made myself pick books that I already own and have never read.

Really enjoying this so far! Bonuses: breastfeeding and baby wearing!
By the way, if you are looking for an amazing app for comics and graphic novels try the x-comics app. It has a guided view option perfect for reading on your phone.
So this is why I started listening to books even though I really appreciate physical books. I need to do something with my hands or I start to get restless (and go looking for food). I started doing amigurumi about a year ago. This is my latest and I'm pretty proud of it, Branch from Trolls.
The Adventure Collection is great! My kids and I are listening at bedtime. Very well narrated!
#disabilities #photoadaynov16
I really enjoyed Legion, it's pretty short and narration by Oliver Wyman is amazing! The best part of this book is that the main character has multiple personalities/ sees people that aren't there. He knows they aren't real and that the world thinks he's crazy, but it's basically his superpower! He compartmentalizes his brain so that each figment is a specialist.
His "disability" is his greatest gift!
#photoadaynov16 #herebedragons
I LOVE DRAGONS!
I thought about posting The Hobbit, Harry Potter, or even GoT, but decided on this series I read when I was 15 and then again recently.
There are those with magic (sunrunners) and those without, and politics clash between kingdoms and Sunrunners. Dragons figure heavily, first as a hunt and then as friends and allies. (Looking back, the dragon element is like How to Train Your Dragon for adults.)

So I read all the way through to the fifth book. Such an amazing writer. I loved how long they were. I was really impressed with the amount of research that must have gone into them.
I struggled with the violence and abuse, but I realize that it was life in that time.
I threw it across the room because I realized that this wasn't the last book, and spoiler: no body is even close to home/resolution!
😫😬😭
#photoadaynov16 : Inspiring
I decided to pick some of the books that inspired me to be a reader and a thinker. These were ones that I read in 5th grade or middle school and I made sure that I still had them for when my kids are old enough.
#novemberland favorite animal sidekick: Mouse from The Dresden Files
#photoadaynov16 planes, trains, and automobiles: The Blue Beetle from The Dresden Files
For #photoadaynov16 I decided to post some of the books that I own and are constantly on tbr! Here's to getting to at least one of these!
I have been wanting this shirt from snorgtees for a while and I finally bought it! of course I love this trilogy and the movies were (surprisingly) excellent too!!!
